Its my first time seeing this kinda game... Its amazing... I love that you are not just a leader who builds factories and expand territory in this game
Hmmm, before 26:30 (when you were talking about the Durable Goods promise failing), I remember a pop-up notifying you that you could call an Emergency Session of the Council. Why didn't you use that? Would seem a perfect moment to cover the issue.
i must say i was really disappointed with the setup frostpunk 2 chose. But i'm growing into it now. There seems to be much more depth and flavour. Your content helps a lot!
I wasn't sure if I was going to like the game, as it seems to be way less personal than the first one, but I'm 12 minutes into your second video and I can't wait to get my hands on it now!
They had a hell of an act to follow but its looking like they did a very good job. I wonder if the faction side of the game will end up dominating the gameplay, maybe too much? Cant wait for more :)
@@Nivarias That's ok, I didn't know. I've lost the campaign from the first time. Do you plan on doing that next? it seems that if one losses control of the factions then it is really tough to return to good terms with them.
seething and gritting my teeth at those ridiculous pencil pushers and their laws that govern efficiency. we should let that heat go to waste and i will protest about it!
Should never take on a promise to do something you know you can't do. It can start a snowball effect to factions you can't stop. And can kill your city with everyone against you.
Damn those warring factions really increase the stress quite a lot. Why they'd make such a stressful and hard game is beyond me. Still, I like watching your play-through.
Aren‘t you negotiating too much? You had 44 votes on your side and you still made a new promise. Because of 7 votes? Kinda seems unnecessary. Or is the games RNG so bad?
FP2 seems a bit boring compared to FP1. Instead of having to actually build the city and manage the workforce, it seems the player has been promoted to the position of director of the Zoning Bureau, and has to deal a lot with balancing the intrests of the different factions. Guess I will watch some Satisfsctory 1.0 footage instead.
True, there is less micro, but you’re still solving the same problems as the first game, with a deeper tech and law tree. There’s depth still, wouldn’t say it’s boring, but it doesn’t scratch the city builder itch like fp1
You’re still building buildings, expanding the city and managing workforce and resources. It’s just on a larger scale and with significantly more depth to the politics and tech tree.
As much as I love the original Frostpunk, I find the whole premise of arguing "factions" too unlikely. People are struggling for survival, yet they'll develop "extreme" beliefs, then argue and disrupt to get "their way" even if it means failing to survive? Nope. Dealing with opposite factions that cannot possibly be kept content with any compromise is not "fun" in my book. But then, my autism makes me as close to Vulcan as is possible. Logic rules over the heart, and the good of the many comes top. I thus cannot process the endless (senseless) demands, and see this as an impossible negotiation game (demanding prompt laws and rules) above anything else. While the playthrough lets me see how it works, this feels like a game I will not enjoy at all. I find everyday life challenging because individuals are so self-invested. I can't even get "my fair share" because some entitled inconsiderate idiot takes for themselves without any thought as to whom they are taking from. So to find out that this continues in peculiar factions with the strangest of ideas, even at the end of the world, when the last human remnants are fighting for survival, is so depressing, it makes me not even want to try. I mean, that "Heat Recovery injection" "law" seemed like only a good thing. Why was anyone even against it? What harm did it do? Re-using waste heat is like recycling - so why would anyone demand we should not recycle (because the alternative is... landfill? Litter?) Not reinjecting that waste heat means it is lost to the atmosphere, and hence wasted. But even more baffling, is why it was necessary to make that a LAW in the first place. It would be like having a law demanding a minimum insulation level on your home. That intrusive, and somewhat that irrelevant. Because, who would not want to have the best insulation they could have? (Whether they can afford it or not is a different question.) But to strike down a law that only does good, seems completely destructive to everything. Does. Not. Compute.
First of all, quit the "my autism makes me more logical than normal people" BS. I'm autistic, I've known plenty of other autistics, and we are not more logical. Yes, we experience emotions differently, but that does not translate into logic. Secondly, the formation of factions is entirely believable. Remember the Londoners from Frostpunk 1? That's a faction right there. Really the idea that all of them could be convinced to stay is far more unbelievable than people forming factions why struggling to survive. Because everyone has an idea on how they should survive. Speaking of, people are not struggling to survive in Frostpunk 2. Yes, the city still has problems, but the city collapsing overnight is no longer some specter of death looming on the horizon. The city is stable enough that they can afford to spend resources on goods beyond the bare necessities, and have implemented currency in the form of heat stamps. The city is not just surviving, it is, more or less, thriving. There is hope for a future And everyone wants a say in what that future will look like, hence the rise of factions. As for Heat Recovery injection, while yes, it was good, it was not the only option. Alternatives for the management of waste heat exist in the game. He just hasn't researched them yet. These alternatives are what the Menders want instituted instead. Your claim that the factions cannot be kept satisfied through compromise is entirely false. That's what the games political system, and indeed, real world politics, is all about. Negotiation and the trading of favors. "I will do this for you, but you have to do something for me." The Menders only appear unreasonable because they start out already agitated by the existence of the Venturers. Pass a few laws and develop some research projects that favor them, and they'll calm down.
I dont think I like this game. The law stuff is just plain annoying and especially since they intentionally give you two counter factions that completely damage one or the other. It’s all politics and I’m not sure many like that. Plus I’m massively more in favor of city builder than the district type management. It’s also very turn based the way they have this setup. Nope not my flavor of tea at all. Never was into Civilization and this is far close to that than an RTS. I’m not calling it bad. Just doesn’t tickle my fancy. I know a lot will like this style and I’m glad you found a new game.
Oil pump for oil you are not using. Why? Use resources on thing you need or are using. The oil it there when you need it. You don't need it. It's a waste on manpower, heat stamps etc for something you aren't even using.
Damn you are soft! So at the first protest you fold like spineless chicken?!? You should have sent the police/guards whatever they are called on them. If there are no governmental violence in this game, the game just sucks!
I dont think I like this game. The law stuff is just plain annoying and especially since they intentionally give you two counter factions that completely damage one or the other. It’s all politics and with modern climate in America climate is not going to be favorable.

Truly a city management game. Not just a city builder!! I love that aspect of it!! Looking forward to more 🤩
This game is so good, I was eagerly waiting for episode 2 !
Also, be careful. By funding the menders, you are also increasing the number of citizens joining them!
It absolutely is!
Subbed, you have a calming voice to help me sleep through my wife's snoring.
My Pleasure 🤣

Just wait for midgame :D

It's different but still looks super awesome. More please
Was supposed to work on a radiodesign, instead im watching this.. Thank you
Nivarias you are making it really hard to not buy this game :) looks great!
Glad you enjoy it!
Awesome game it seems, and awesome playtrhough!

Yeeeeh i like when you post one video after another :)
Not my thing, but enjoy your channel.
yayayayay part two!!
Wow episode 2 already :)
man, the Venturers should be named Capitalists. sounds more apt to their desc
Their name is a reference to Venture Capitalism.
as i said before, love this channel
Thanks :)
excellent guides man, nice channel. One note though, you have too many ads in videos, maybe you should look into it...
Glad you found it helpful!
I can't control ads sorry, that's entirely on YT's side.

❤❤❤❤
Actually i just wonder what will happen if law is rejected. Do we still can propose it again till law CD is off or we lock from that choice🤔🤔🤔
Yes, you can propose again. there will be a cooldown however and trust loss. So you basically miss a whole cycle
PART III plss,, ?
👍
Play the story for us!
I think it is not a sequel. It is another game in the same setting.
Yeey continue to do more
Then maybe try zooming so that we see animations
Another daily episode to look for and Anno later please?? Thank you.
Anno tomorrow sorry!
Building looks kind of dull to me no?
FP2 is less a city builder and more of a politics SIM, which is meh

We need anno I need it
Aren‘t you negotiating too much?

Kinda seems unnecessary. Or is the games RNG so bad?
It's because easy promises raise trust

I'm feeling the same. This feels more like a politics simulator than a city builder

I think it would be more boring if we got the same game as before
