We are losing all the people we grew up watching and listening to. Enjoy them while they're here!

Try listening to Boom Radio Ronald, there are a few ads but not as many as some commercial stations. It is geared to Boomers and Johnnie has guested as a DJ on there a couple of times.

The DJs are given free reign over the music they play too and they all broadcast from their homes. The likes of 'Diddy' David Hamilton, Graham Dene, Roger Day, Kid Jensen and Nicky Horne and guests like Tony Blackburn and as I said Johnnie. I obviously don't listen 24/7 but am always surprised by some music I haven't heard played in years. Some programmes are geared for 60s music and Simon Bates is on with 70s stuff at the weekend. Between 8 and 9 in the evening is easy hour with all types of music. Give it a go I am sure you will be a convert like me x

What a shame one of the few decent DJ's left on Radio 2. At least he is being replaced by another legend

That’s only your own personal opinion, it’s not a fact. You’re entitled to it.

What a very sad day. Johnnys last SOTS show. You will be sorely missed my friend Best Wishes to you and Tiggy. Tony in Portsmouth.

So what did you think of Sundays "Bob Harris's Sounds of the 70'S" To much rock? and as predicted he will be bringing in Country music which is his first love, and hear we go..stuff from the old grey whistle test which I hated as a 10yr old kid. I was into radio 1 and radio Luxmberg not crappy Whistle test stuff. Bob is to old to be old!

Totally agree with you. I hope Bob Harris will still play a mix of 1970s music from Pop to Glam Rock to Punk to rock. He he continues in the vein he did on his first SOTS then I'm afraid Radio 2 will lose thousands of listeners. I was not too impressed by his first SOTS.

I just hope Bob Harris doesn't go harping on about the Old Grey Whistle Test Like he did when covering for Johnny a while back. I am 61 now and absolutely HATED the old Grey Whistle Test!! in the 70's

I have listened to Sounds of the Seventies since 2017 and will really miss Johnny on a Sunday Afternoon. Radio 2. When Johnny retires there will be only 2 decent DJs left that is Bob Harris and Tony Blackburn. When they retire Radio 2 will be finished.
