Boss ladies🙄🙄
These two were the only decent presenters out of all the dreadful 90’s radio 1 bunch.
Undercover Brother 's Song David Byrne - like Humans Do
Don't forget Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston as well.
Greg James, Scott Mills, Jordan North and Chris Stark, Chris Moyles and Chris Evans, what a choice in the mornings.
And now all three Chris, Greg and Scott will now be directly competing with each other regularly and the biggest irony of it all is that Scott is replacing Zoe.
Sorry about my slow royal Enfield jw bless you
I’m respect non-UK countries ignore U.K. UK is worst country in world.
Good luck Johnie, your a legend, and will be missed
So what did you think of Sundays "Bob Harris's Sounds of the 70'S" To much rock? and as predicted he will be bringing in Country music which is his first love, and hear we go..stuff from the old grey whistle test which I hated as a 10yr old kid. I was into radio 1 and radio Luxmberg not crappy Whistle test stuff. Bob is to old to be old!
Totally agree with you. I hope Bob Harris will still play a mix of 1970s music from Pop to Glam Rock to Punk to rock. He he continues in the vein he did on his first SOTS then I'm afraid Radio 2 will lose thousands of listeners. I was not too impressed by his first SOTS.
Grew up with him though 70s.going to be missed. God bless you Johnny.
Weird to hear Scott on Radio 1 now he's on Radio 2 lol
A great dj now retired due to ill health take care johnny walker love the seventies music..
I wonder will Philly lose KYW and WPHT and their formats?
RESPECT.........
Wonderful sounds, Johnnie. We will never forget.
Thanks Johnny grew up with you ,all the best my friend
Thank you Johnnie...❤
And of course...my fave band of all....ABBA...Also Bay City Rollers...very underrated band❤
My fave music decade....lennon...t rex....Bowie....deep purple...roxy music....rory Gallagher...supertramp...sweet...bob Marley....pistols...jam....joy division....skids....japan....etc....thanks Johnny walker❤
We are losing all the people we grew up watching and listening to. Enjoy them while they're here!
David Byrne -Like humans Do ( Radio Edit)( Windows XP music player) Michael's Favorite Opening Song David Byrne - Like Humans Do ( Radio Edit) https Opening for Michael Stevenson
What a very sad day. Johnnys last SOTS show. You will be sorely missed my friend Best Wishes to you and Tiggy. Tony in Portsmouth.
I just hope Bob Harris doesn't go harping on about the Old Grey Whistle Test Like he did when covering for Johnny a while back. I am 61 now and absolutely HATED the old Grey Whistle Test!! in the 70's
I have listened to Sounds of the Seventies since 2017 and will really miss Johnny on a Sunday Afternoon. Radio 2. When Johnny retires there will be only 2 decent DJs left that is Bob Harris and Tony Blackburn. When they retire Radio 2 will be finished.
I won't miss Burnie Blacktone He always was as cheesy as it gets.
SO did I!!
No longer listen to Radio 2 anymore, im happy with Ken at Greatest Hits radio.
Pure legend ❤
the guy was a legend listened to him pretty much every day of my working life of 39 years proud to say he made work less of a chore i quit 6 months before he passed RIP steve wright you was a legend thru and thru.
I loved listening to Steve on the drive home, he really did give that good weekend feeling.
The second I clicked on this video i immediately recognized the song
3:13
Yess! miss ya Wrighty :(
The voice of my lifetime and a true legend. God bless you Steve
Sunday Afternoons will NEVER be the same again. At least we have another legend taking Johnny's seat whom is Bob Harris. God Bless you Johnny and all the best for your future.
Steve Wright just living the dream
Radio 2 actually died the day this national legend died. Can’t replace him. 😢😢
Retirement of a legend, what a professional, take care Johnnie your shows are fantastic and I will always miss them. 🎶😍
What a shame one of the few decent DJ's left on Radio 2. At least he is being replaced by another legend
That’s only your own personal opinion, it’s not a fact. You’re entitled to it.
Johnnie walker and Tony Blackburn Are The Only Two I Listen to Now On Radio 2, Thank You Johnny Very Much For All The Years Of Great Listening Pleasure And Also Thanks for Phoning me Back In 2003 About A Track On The Who's Tommy Album After I Txt you On Your Programme..👍
Try listening to Boom Radio Ronald, there are a few ads but not as many as some commercial stations. It is geared to Boomers and Johnnie has guested as a DJ on there a couple of times.
@@TheDillygent Thanks' Yes Somebody Else Mentioned Boom Radio, Will Give It A Go. Got Planet Rock on Most Of The Time , Which is Great But The Ads Are Irritating!! 😁👍
The DJs are given free reign over the music they play too and they all broadcast from their homes. The likes of 'Diddy' David Hamilton, Graham Dene, Roger Day, Kid Jensen and Nicky Horne and guests like Tony Blackburn and as I said Johnnie. I obviously don't listen 24/7 but am always surprised by some music I haven't heard played in years. Some programmes are geared for 60s music and Simon Bates is on with 70s stuff at the weekend. Between 8 and 9 in the evening is easy hour with all types of music. Give it a go I am sure you will be a convert like me x
Simon Mayo too on Greatest Hits.
RIP DJ SILLY BOI
i'm in my 40s and Annie Nightingale has got to be my fave DJ i've ever heard, beeb or not. i'll miss her much. second to her on the radio, bbc also i think, Mary Anne Hobbs edit: also, as i'm relistening to the snippets of music, i'm remembering this mixset a little 🥲
Such a shame she's back.. More extortionate amounts of licence payers money to fund this talentless gibbering reck of a so called DJ!!
Thankyou for putting together this compilation x
It's amazing poor poor Radio 2 is now compared to only a few years ago.
Sad sad, and another massive loss to the BBC, well done !!!!!
Gutted. 😢
I had the honor and privalige to listen to steve wright for 40 years he made work tolerable :) RIP steve .
The best comment l’ve seen says ‘dopey wokey Helen replaced the Grizzly Bear of British Radio with…..Sooty”😂😂😂. R I P Steve.
Old one way better - flows properly. The new one feels very disjointed and tacked together
He knew the beeb would treat him the same way they did with Steve Wright so he was clever out and decided to get out before the beeb did clever move Ken sir
He did well to get zero.
