EPICA is the real deal!! Been to SO many concerts in my 63 years, and theirs is the best I have ever attended….SO talented! Simone is an Archangel of vocals as well. 🤘🏻😍
I just listened to the studio version for the first time in about 10 years. Simone's singing WAY better in this version. For example, the note that she holds for about 10 seconds here (starting at 5:58) isn't even there on the studio version.
it was too fucking funny live, I don't think everything has to be judged as they were publishing a definitive version of something in a concept album. Oh well, if you tell me you don't like uptempo even in songs written to sound like that, I get your point, though. I mean, if something sounds bad to you, it's taste and there's no discussion to be done
Every time I watch this, I find myself ridiculously jealous of everyone that was there. Nothing about this that isn't awesome. The band, the orchestra, the choir, Simone all of it was absolutely perfect. All y'all trying to hate on the techno/disco part, clearly you hate fun and that makes me sad for you.
There's nothing like being there, but they captured it so well on video that it's like you don't just have the best seats in the house, you have EVERY seat in the house. And you don't have to stand for 3 hours, or have people screaming in your ear, or worry about being killed by the pyro. Seriously, I bet they had the audience sign insurance waivers before they let them in.
Sadly it seems I am part of the very few Epica fans that has no complaints about this performance. I actually prefer this to the original Phantom Agony song. Her voice is actually more present in this version and is a thousand times more powerful! I wish I was there.
Her voice and the band’s presence/energy is even more amazing live. Absolute performers. The guys raged on their instruments and she carried us away with that voice. 🤘🏼
Hey, little late, but still :D I want to see them live, and I have the choice of classic floor standing or chair tribune at the side. I would prefer to stand on the floor to feel the energy etc. But I´m little bit worried, that I´m not that tall, I wont see much. Is it really a problem or the raised stage eliminates this?
One night I was listening this song and driving in the middle of the night through a wild route in the Andean mountains, I had opened the window, and in a curve I have to drastically reduce the speed, and suddenly from the sky appears a beautiful giant owl that catch a big mouse in front of me, and the owl watched me to my eyes, I feel the cold steel of that eyes in my soul!!! this was a very beautiful and strong experience for me… I always remember this magic moment of my life every time when I am listening this beautiful song.

Wow reading some of these comments is really sad. I think she sounds amazing. Not only is she pregnant, which I can imagine must be difficult on stage, but this was a long ass concert too and this song is somewhere past the halfway point. But really I don't hear anything wrong with her voice and people who comment as if they are insulted by this wonderful performance are pathetic.
I don't agree with all the things you said. Indeed, she is pregnant and this is really difficult to sing when we are pregnant. But, it's not ONLY her pregnancy the problem. She need to work her new way to sing because it's seems too difficult for her.

The first time I heard this live I was surprised and enjoyed myself so much to the beat, I always have loved when bands turn its live performances into something else. Also I love seeing the band jumping around to it.
I agree. You can tell they had a lot of fun with this whole (3-hour?) performance and I think that's really important. When I saw them live, they played the song like this and they were jumping around, being silly and playful. It looked like they were having such a good time and that carried over to the audience. It was great. :)
They played this techno part since at least 2009, I think its really cool and bring something funny to the song and the band seems to enjoy it and so we are !! :D
Even if the lights aren't perfect, I have to say that this may be the best mix Epica has ever had. Wow... so powerful. And Simone (in my admittedly not definitive opinion) sounds great. Also I'd say that the only reason the lights are an issue is because Epica has such a great, fun stage presence and it would've been awesome to see that better documented.. for most bands it wouldn't have mattered at all lol
And better than the studio version...great performance as usual. And Simone singing it differently than on the studio version is cool, i like that, it's what a live show is all about to me. If I want to hear the studio version I listen to the album. This arrangement is great!
Love you so much! For your talent, for your masterpieces, for your lyrics and music! So HARDEST days now for me but... this is so much for me. Remembering your concert in Moscow when Simone was pregnant... so many years ago... Keep creating my dear!!! Your masterpieces is a different dimension of my mind
Actually as a fan who continually sees them live and watches videos of their live shows throughout the year, I can assure you that they play this song in this exact way on every show they had since 2010! And I for one would have been really disappointed if they played it without the disco part! Because it's totally fun and I always await it happily at every show. It's a break from all the seriousness and shows that they're real people with a sense of humor! :)
Nope, you wasn’t - since some years I’m definitely not a fan of anything techno/disco related as this kind of music is literally everywhere and it’s so mainstream in my country that it’s painful, but it sounds really cool in Epica’s version 😀
Wait what?! She was pregnant?! God damn! She's tough.Floor did the same thing. That's dedication. And I'm sure they both asked their medics "Doc...can I perform like this? I mean can I rock out and scream at the the top of my lungs while with a ton of noise around me? Yeah? Great.. thanks" :-p.

@@berenicemendozarivera7799 Yes. After Forever les quedó chico a ambos.

It's performances like these that show how Simone rules the stage like no other. She makes it look like she's not even TRYING.
Are you kidding? She is out of tune during the whole performance
I feel like playing this version in a party... The disco part invites you to dance !!!!
"It feels good to be alive..." - Simone Simons
critics to this performance are just absurd.... Great Show. Great artists.
¡El Valhalla en la tierra! ¡Grande Épica!
🌜Epica & Nightwish🌛 tour in North America. Fucking Heaven🔥😈
Second year in arow that I'm listening to every song in this band's repertoir. Can't get enough. And some of the reactors on moat of these song.
Omg thats so epic
INCRÍVEL! Só isso a dizer!
I love the disco breaks!!
if Mozart, Wagner and all of the other classic composer where alive today they would make musical like this
Definitely Vivaldi and Mozart, bcos they was shreder guys back in the days, Bach more like doommetal
Wagner, Holst, Mahler...
LMAO this has to be the most shitty take ever made by an "symphonic" metal fan. No, music iliterate, they woulld have vomited at the mere sight of this shit show. They actually knew music, unlike you and the people who enjoyed this shit.
Retrospect was very very amazing. we need it one more.
@@berenicemendozarivera7799 Yes. After Forever les quedó chico a ambos.
This is awesome, I love it!
Simone Simons and Floor Jansen and Sharon Den Adel are the best Woman in this Genre!!!!
I love all Three Of them
None Can Touch Them
@@kozmycblues666 I was just simply Stating that the 3 women I mentioned are the best of the best
Sorry if I upset you
@@paulmcdowell6886 amigo, no me he ofendido ni me he molestado, al contrario.
Epica the best of the world!
It is so sad :(( but 1000th of Epica fans use swear-words about Epica only for Lights. Lights is bad but I love epica more than shit lights. epica is more than lights for me Epica is for me MASTERPIECE Music!
I love Epica with Growls !!
*/gasp/* My God... This song played live with a full orchestra is a bagazillion better than any other version I've ever heard!!
