Would love a copy of this again...its one of those games that hits you differently...like flashback, fade to black,G police,LHX attack chopper...though that was on megadrive.
I had no idea this was on PS1 until recently, it looks like it plays pretty well? This game is an absolute nightmare to get to work on PC so maybe I'll just buy it for ps1 instead.
I am playing this game on ps1 as we speak. The only thing that pissed me.off about it on PlayStation was that you couldn't persuade church of the new epoch zealots. You could only do it on PC.
I'm fairly sure you could, but the zealots were a special case, here's the persuasion chart used to detail how to persuade various enemies/npc's taken from syndicate.lubiki.pl/swars/html/swars_faq.php: -------------------------------------------------- |Type | Points given | Points need to persuade| -------------------------------------------------- Civilians 1 0 Unguided 2 10 Zealots 5 20* Scientist 1 0 Police 2 6 Govs 3 15 Agent 3 15 *Zealots can only be persuaded with the persuadertron 2 NOTE: Brain mods increase the range of the Persuadertron, but don't decrease the points need to persuade someone.
@@charonel , *Wow* - _thank you!_ You seem to have in-depth knowledge of the PS1 release.... Can I plug in 4 mouse controllers for 4 players and, if applicable, 4 regular controllers via a second controller port splitter/multitap so the players might be able to use combined controller button & mouse click combinations similar to the likes of the Command & Conquer: Red Alert PS1 titles?
@@That_Handle That, I can't help you with I'm afraid. I never played it multiplayer. Also, nobody ever actually saw an original ps1 mouse back in the day, at least nobody I ever knew, so anything at all to do with the mouse support is basically arcane knowledge lost to the ages by this point. :)
@@charonel , Thank you and I have to apologize for not structuring my sentence well there in that comment. To not create any confusion, it is the likes of Quake II on PS1 that supports 4 mouse controllers and 4 controllers' D-pads all plugged via a pair of multi-taps (albeit, for a first-person point-of-view control experience) in a 4-P split-screen. Conversely, C&C Red Alert titles for PS1, each player has a _full-screen_ unto themselves where system link between a pair of PS1 consoles to support the two players is required (no split-screen support) where, therein, using both mouse controller clicks in combination with controller face button presses are geared towards quickly executing actions without the players having to access them long-form by clicking alone through their menus within that full-screen, twin-screen RTS when enjoying multiplayer. 🤔 As Syndicate Wars didn't utilize system link - was a shared screen multiplayer - and supported mouse controllers, those above controller schemes suggest that mouse clicks and controller face button combo controls _could_ be part of the makeup of Syndicate Wars when drawing from the dual controls utilized by C&C Red Alert and Quake II. 🤷♂️ Not a sure thing, though, since dual controls weren't always utilized in the case of RTSs on PS1. I believe Dune 2000 didn't make much use of dual controls if none at all beyond the use of the mouse controller. Neither did the first PS1 C&C release which didn't yet utilize the mouse controller. ⏮ en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Mouse ⏮⏮ en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Link_Cable
How the fuck this game ran on the PS1 smoothly, with all the destructibles and cars and NPC's.... Could be the most exquisite port in the history of the video game industry Probably few of you went through the pain of playing PC ports on PS1 like: Warcraft 2 (awful Ui and unit selection ) Diablo 1(zoomed in camera, and very long loading time) Red Alert 1 (starts to stutter after you build 20 units ) Commandos 2 (worst port ever, but its on PS2)
Max Warfield It all sounds great but visually, aren’t the sprites rather small? And with the shadows and all, I can’t tell what is an agent or a pedestrian, doesn’t it get frustrating? Also, that radar image at the lower left, it looks “murky”, the agents are “orange” and the bad guys are slightly more reddish-orange? All these are so small on that tiny radar map, by the time you realize who’s who, it’s probably too late… I’m just guessing here, I haven’t played the game. I’m considering getting this game because it seems [on paper] really interesting but from what footage I’ve seen so far on TH-cam, the Sega Genesis version seems at least visually, clearer. But a lot of gamers claim the ps1’s version is better. I’d appreciate some opinions from you guys, to help me decide which version to get. Cheers!
i had this, GTA, and XCOM on ps1, and Civ 2
The score for this is amazing. Really suits the dark futuristic theme
RIP Bullfrog you absolute legends
syndicate 3 should have been a city building game with rts elements
I had this game back in the day
You know it's a dystopian future when all parked cars have headlights still on.
Ps1 really had the best ambient sounds
My dad had this on ps1, I’d play it when I was about 5. It used to scare the shit outta me. Interesting to watch it as an adult.
This was the first PS1 game I ever played. My aunt and uncle had it at their house in California. Bri go back good memories.
*Wish they released a Syndicate game on the PS2, Bullfrog Productions were legendary*
Just a regular day in Malmö, Sweden

I'm pretty sure that you could on the ps1, just that you needed to have a bery large following in order to do so.
I'm fairly sure you could, but the zealots were a special case, here's the persuasion chart used to detail how to persuade various enemies/npc's taken from syndicate.lubiki.pl/swars/html/swars_faq.php:

Unguided 2 10

*Zealots can only be persuaded with the persuadertron 2
