@@danylbekhoucha6180 Beem playing this NGen a lot recently but there is one big problem. Not being able to reconfigure the controls! Holding down X button hurts my hand. I don't get why right analog stick cannot be used.
I don't even own a console gaming system.. but if they came out with an NGEN racing 2, I'd probably buy one. This is one of my favorite games of all time. I wanted to be a pilot and astronaut when I was a kid. This game made me feel like I was one.
I used to love this game when I was younger, and now I'm really mad that our PS2 won't play it any more. The highest I ever got was the S-Class championship, and I was mad when I couldn't win the X-Class because you then unlocked my favorite airplane. Still, hoping that I can get it to work again. Some of these PS1 classics just never die.
A friend and I just got into this game - second time for me :D IT KICKS SO MUCH A**! The graphics and speed are incredible for the 17 (!) years old psx, it takes a lot of skill and effort to get into it, but your reward comes in pure adrenaline, and loads of fun. To everyone: if you see this lying around, buy it! You'll have hours of fun for almost no money at all:). also: if you have a modded psx, you can copy the disc, and replace the music tracks with surf music!
I would say yes, it's worth tracking down. Yeah, the jets have weapons: machine gun, rockets, missiles (follows target) and anti-missile to repel missiles of your opponents. Unfortunately it's not shown in this video because my jet is fully upgraded and fast enough so I didn't have to use weapons. Well, that's a good reason to make another video showing the weapons sometime in the future. :) Usually you use the weapons all the time.
I used the JSF Joint Strike Fighter Model B for this trophy! :D, brilliant flying dude! and an awesome game!, shame they never speak of remaking this for Xbox or PS3 :(
Such a awesome game. i miss when you graduated to the next racing level and got the crap kicked out of ya. you learned from it and become better. All i know is that it needs a remake. even though i currently run this on a emulator.
oo why arcade, i always went pro, even though this game officially wasn't released in Australia, i bought it at a BIG W i forever regret selling it to cash converters!
"Pro"....those controls where you incline the lever at a certain point and it almost does not change direction...then you do the same identical movement in the same position, but this time your aircraft hyper changes direction and you never know what the aircraft will do, that's just so bugged, a lottery at every corner. Same about the time pressure of directional buttons. It's advanced anti-controls. Talks are big, then, if someone uses cheats, it is not even a gamer. "Pro" is the same as arcade with the only awful difference that it does not work well, apart from the possibility to rotate completely.
This person was definitely an amateur. I was top notch at this game.. and the key to it is to fly upside down through the hoops to get double the boost, repairs, etc.
Yeah, but unfortunately I just always end up crashing into the terrain every 2 seconds when I use Pro controls. :( I did the training for Pro numerous times, I just can't do it...
Too bad they didn't remake the game for the current generation console, but at least Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is the closest spiritual successor in terms of air racing gameplay.
@Joshskelton1993 I got reintroduced to this game after watching Kevin & Perry Go large, and recognising the songs played in the club from this game. I'm such a nerd, but this game was the shit. Never got the hang of pro controls though...
Is there another game similar to this out there but like not as fast paced because I remember playing something similar to this on ps1 but it was alot slower then this
Elephiant Damn, have you tried different sound plugins? Mine was fine with the default (though without the end-race jingles for some reason) but there are other options.
It's a problem with your emulator, the music always plays while you're flying a jet.Try to enable something like "XA Sound" in the emulators sound options, because the music is CD-audio and it won't play if the emulator doesn't emulate XA sound.
Actually there is combat in N.GEN, with rockets and so forth (should have shown some of that). But the combat doesn't really help much in winning a race and it can be pretty frustrating to get shot down. I used to concentrate on upgrading my jet's speed instead so that it's easily the fastest jet in a race and I don't need to bother with combat at all. Kinda boring to do it this way, but it works better.
This game obviously copied off of starfox for the Super Nintendo. But the game to first try this was sega's After Burmer arcade game made in 1987, the same year as Top Gun was released for the NES which was basically the samething.

Most underrated game on the PS1, the fighting while racing was the best part next to the soundtrack
The game was far behind Plane Crazy released 3 years earlier.

@@strictlyninetiesBack then wasnt an issue and everyone got used to. Not just for this but for any game
Don’t sound as an snowflake >:(
The multiplayer where you could free roam for hours, and the music holy shit
I fucking love this game. Brings back so many good memories. I used to play this, Driver 1 and GT2 like a maniac
Remake, now would be a perfect time since VR is being introduced
Ahh the nostalgia, they just don`t make them like this any more, thanks for the upload!!

Oh man, I remember recording the in-game music with a tape recorder. The track at 1:30 was my favorite. Thanks for uploading the video!
sunburst eyeball. sad i was too young to enjoy trance when it was good
My ps1 found its way into the tip about 7 years ago, dug this video out specifically for the song 😂
yea
I remember putting the game disc in a CD player and you could listen to the music that way!
Nostalgia pangs! The music was just awesome. Along with SSX 3 tracks, best songs on the older gens
This game has a kick ass soundtrack! I used to have this game now I want it again!
I used to be amazing at this game when I was like 9 years old but watching it now I dont know if I could react fast enough xD
I remember finding this game, and oh boy, it brings back memories
The Soundtrack is Freaking Good 👌
Yeah, the ingame font is called "Neuropol" and you can get it for free at dafont.com for example. =)
I set a gaming schedule for each ps1 game I had when I was little, N.Gen Racing took up Friday/ Saturday because my friends would come over to play it

Ace Combat meets Gran turismo.
MrHexacore More like Wipeout meets planes.
Oh ok, I learned that the Wipeout 1 and XL producers directed this game...
MrHexacore
They also made a Xbox game called Quantum Redshift, pretty good game too.
Das war eines der meistgespielten Games auf meiner PS1... Zusammen mit 4x4 World Trophy.

Online multiplayer VR needs this classic.

Nick Burcombe is a great man.
This game NEEDS a remake in UE5
MAKE IT HAPPEN DAMNIT!

Ah this game I had it for my ps1 or my brother at least but I got to play it at least.
I was playing this and eliminate ALL the enemy with Machine Gun
oo why arcade, i always went pro, even though this game officially wasn't released in Australia, i bought it at a BIG W i forever regret selling it to cash converters!
I'm way too slow if I use Pro controls, although, if you master it, it's an advantage. I really should try to master the damn Pro controls by now.^^
Skiller TV do you know the name of the song in the options menu by any chance?

Superb game, amazing music. This has to be remade, when you unlock the SR71.......holy shit.....
I did and it overtakes it's missiles.
This game gave me nightmares, I don't know why or how but it just did
i love this game so much ^_^ used to play it
The best thing about this game was the soundtrack.
sad such a game never made a comeback
Yes, it's a shame there's quite nothing like it today.
This person was definitely an amateur. I was top notch at this game.. and the key to it is to fly upside down through the hoops to get double the boost, repairs, etc.
Good for you. I played through the entire game with "Arcade" control scheme which does not let you do that.
Basically Wipeout but with fighter jets. These guys just couldn't wait for antigravity to arrive.
Yeah, but unfortunately I just always end up crashing into the terrain every 2 seconds when I use Pro controls. :(
I did the training for Pro numerous times, I just can't do it...

I always loved this game, just recently re-brought it from amazon.. can't wait for it to arrive
You're fast, this has just finished uploading.^^
So many memories :')
fuck i wish someone would get the menu music as a file on TH-cam, its kick ass
@gaboman55 Name of the game? Are you serious? It's in the title and it says it in the game's menus. It's called N.GEN Racing
So this must be the game which inspires M.A.C.H(modified air combat heroes) for PSP.
Am I wrong ?
If we really are getting a star fox racing game, I hope it will be similar to this.
loved this game
I could barely handle the long endurance series.
Too bad they didn't remake the game for the current generation console, but at least Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is the closest spiritual successor in terms of air racing gameplay.
Please someone remake it in Unreal 5 Unity 6 or something like that.. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 i NEED to play this again in my life!

It could be "Eagle One: Harrier Attack", that one is slower paced.
@@Skiller444 I will check it out thanks

Yes!
Did you try Pro controls at the time? I really never managed to fly with Pro controls, I always crash. :(
im gonna be putting this on my xbox 1 :D

@raveinginheaven
Getting a good PS1 emulator is easy: search for ePSXe.
Old-School
Hey, what emulator did you use and do you remember where you got the disk image?I can't get the in-game music working...
+Elephiant I don't use any emulators, this was played on my PS1. I bought the game back in the day, no need for an image...
I managed to get it working on ePSXe with an iso from The ISO Zone.
Poggle566 Yeah I got it working to but without music. From what I've read it doesn't seem fixable... :(
Elephiant Damn, have you tried different sound plugins? Mine was fine with the default (though without the end-race jingles for some reason) but there are other options.
+Poggle566 so you did get music on an emulator? I did try other sound plugins, but I'll look into it again then. Would be cool if it worked.
It's a problem with your emulator, the music always plays while you're flying a jet.Try to enable something like "XA Sound" in the emulators sound options, because the music is CD-audio and it won't play if the emulator doesn't emulate XA sound.
Lisence, please

name of the game??please
