    Hunter's dad here.
    I'm impressed how well this is going. I was the production mgr for Honda in OH from 99-2002. I'd have never thought this was possible (although, after leaving the company I really haven't done much research. It's kind of cool to see the cars come apart and be put back together, knowing that you saw the assembly line do just that. I'll have him send me more links on the series.

      Yeah, I'm honestly really surprised we didn't have to do more custom work to make this happen. Everything basically bolted up minus the clutch pedal, there are provisions for both automatic and manual all over the frame. I'd say expect one more part to come tomorrow night, there's only a few things left to do before it's complete!

    Damn the pedal assembly seems far more complicated than swapping a Civic. The lemon autos make these otherwise great cars worthless. Impressed you guys pulled it off. I rebuilt my f23 engine only to realize the auto issues

    Any photos of the nut welded up to hold to top of the pedal bracket. I’ve completed my swap but having a hard time getting that top part of the bracket to hold properly.

    • @accordinglyryan
      @accordinglyryan  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nah we didn't take any pics because it isn't pretty lol, but we literally just tack welded a nut on there and threaded a bolt into it, with a metal sleeve in between. Honestly that part isn't even 100% necessary, it just made us feel better. The firewall is the primary support system for the pedal

    Brother I’m attempting the same thing I didn’t get a chance to get the size for the pedal spacers on the fire wall for the clutch master

    I'm getting ready to do this as well I'm sorry if you tell me later in the video but do you have to swap out the ecm for a manual one?

  • @qrs3658
    @qrs3658 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    . Very awesome video. thanks for this upload. but you should definitely manufacture and sell those CNC spacers. Did the manual tranny mount correctly on the sub frame or you guys had to modify the mounts?

    • @accordinglyryan
      @accordinglyryan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All the manual mounts bolted right up with no modification. Thanks for watching

    Wait. Did u used the half shaft. Or just used the auto axel on the driver side???

    • @accordinglyryan

      Halfshaft, you can't use the auto axle

    • @Goyito81

      @@accordinglyryan im currently doing this on mine now but the axcel that came off the other car. Is a bit longer. Than the one needed. Came of the 98. And mine is a 2000

    • @accordinglyryan

    Do you or your friend remember what wires had to be attached to the clutch safety switch

    • @accordinglyryan
      @accordinglyryan  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wanna say it was a blue/white wire in the driver side fuse block area. Sorry it's been a long time and I don't even own the car anymore lol

    Any tips for locating the clutch hole in the firewall properly?

    • @accordinglyryan
      @accordinglyryan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So on the automatic car (under the dash) it's gonna have some rubber/foam material covering where it needs to go, but it should be partially outlined for you already. Pull that off, and then you'll see there's already indentations on the firewall itself. In other words, it'll be really obvious lol. I drilled a 1.5" hole for the actual plunger and two 3/8" holes for the bolts.

    hey did you have any problems getting the axles in, ive heard myths that you never want to remove both at the same time. But i dont know if it applys to this trans.

    • @accordinglyryan
      @accordinglyryan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't see why that would cause an issue. We didn't have any problems removing or installing them

    Is the donor car's motors being supported by a jack? Can the motor be supported without the transmission? Im just thinking about how I would scrap my donor car when i was done.

    • @accordinglyryan
      @accordinglyryan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, we have the engine on a jack stand currently. We found a scrap piece of steel laying around my place; the plan is to stick that under the engine and tack weld it to the frame just so we can get it to the scrap yard.

    • @accordinglyryan

      You want a spacer approx 0.5"-0.6" thick for the firewall/master cylinder
