Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is a deeply social high fantasy MMO
game that challenges its players and rewards effort.
#mmorpg #PantheonRiseoftheFallen #EverQuest
Are you playing Pantheon?
Hands down the only reason I don't play these games is you can solo in EQ, this new mmorpg aspect of "Make mobs have 100x HP, and the players do very little damage that scales very little every level" makes me feel like I get no where. It isn't fun doing 1 more point of damage every level. In EQ and a lot of other MMORPGs, you get power spikes and you character feels stronger. Hitting a mob for 10 minutes barely doing damage isn't fun at all.
@ OG EQ was like that so I suppose many of these games follow that design philosophy. Modern EQ is NOT like that at all lol.
I bought the game to support them but I dont want to put in too much into it because I know the game is still a longs way before it is fully released and there will be wipes before release.
Over 300 hrs, just using this time to try the different classes. :)
Bought it a few weeks ago, been playing everyday. It's been super fun even at this stage. Pleasantly surprised.
Just picked this game up and I've put 25 hours in just under 3 days and have have got at another bunch of people to join the adventure :-) finally a game that's has the design where you really need to team up. The community is beyond awesome everyone is very willing to help each other, from sharing mats crafting items weapon/armor or even helping the weary traveler that is lost needing directions back to town. You would be walking past other people and they will cast a bunch of buffs on you that last nearly an hour.
The audio in this game is absolutely sublime genuinely was shocked how good it is :-)
i just really hope this doesn't get ruined by people using 3rdparty software showing map loot etc
I've had absolutely zero issues with server stability I'm playing in OCE where i get 30ping, i know that high for a lot of other people, though comparing it to the 80-110+ on literally any game Ive ever played in my life because of where I'm located in Western Australia
definitely keen to stick around through the wipes and be there for when all the new people come in to lend a hand when needed.
I will be around, handing out clothing, bags, Bank boxes & a free gold piece to new adventurers if I am able to.
Like you, I plan on sticking around for the long term of this game because regardless of whatever some people say just to complain without any real thought behind their unpleasant feelings & I still like this game, it allows me to play at my own pace.
If I want to spend three days gathering Cotton Bolls to use to make cotton gatherer's sack for new players, thats my perogitive.
Went out of cave at night time, got chased by skeletons, died, 10/10 I recommend
The ambiance, especially in the dark with fog and rain, is really immersive. Seeing things lit up in the distance. You know if it’s overcast or not at night by the moonlight. The fact they even modulate nameplate view depending on lighting relative to you. A small but great aspect of the experience.
The U6 update has done wonders even beyond this, though I can’t wait for racial passive regarding vision 😉
@@Aelious- it makes me excited because I cannot wait until my Dark Myr's ultravision will actually matter & I will have an advantage of seeing in the dark & wont need my torch to see because I will be able to see just fine at night without it. Even if the ultravision lasts five minutes before you have to reset it, I would be happy, as long as my favorite spellcasting race would finally become more popular among people looking for characters that are good for different reasons, like a whole party of Dark Myr traversing HC without torches & using ultravision would be an entire mood.
Great vid mate! i picked this up a few weeks ago and i can say its a long way off from a finished product but saying that.. 90hrs in and i have 2 characters ranger and paladin level 8 and 9 and i cant put the game down. There is soom much i havent seen. The grind feels good! if you loves EQ OSR CWOW this is the game for you!!
Put a good number of hours into this so far and having a blast. Incredible vid, keep up the good shit!
This is the first early access game I don’t regret buying. 200 hours in.
I went from 2d Runesacpe -> Helbreath -> Mu Online -> Diablo 2 -> Guild Wars 1 -> World of Warcraft. I never got to experience Everquest or Ultima online, and trying to get into them now is difficult with how old they actually are. I decided to purchase Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, and I must say,, I totally understand why there is a community of people that love this type of gameplay that older mmorpgs provide. I supported it, obviously; I can't wait to watch the game get better and better.
Been loving it for 2.5 weeks, can't get enough!
Ive put in about 120 hours so far, i think it's great
I can see this being semi popular.
Niches are important, even if they aren't big. That's my opinion anyway.
I think it's semi popular already. haha
I love it so far. I have a 20 wizard and it's 100% been worth 40 bucks, even if I stop playing immediately. (I thought it had turned into vaporware. so I almost didn't buy it. Very happy I did, as it will eventually be my main game if all goes well)
Game is fun as hell and has a great community. Crazy to think it's 2025 and Pantheon is in a healthier state than AOC. Gives some hope for the genre to return to form.
it looks like absolute trash and has clunky combat lmao wdym
@@hatemeister come back when you're older
@@hatemeisterlol and you sound like youd have trouble with the “put the shapes in the hole” game, but i aint jumping to conclusions. go play throne and liberty or quinfall you herby dork
Ran by grifter addicts and wildly delusional playerbase that threatens your life if you dare question the obvious malfeasance.
What way is it healthier than AOC can you elaborate? Doubt it
Yes. Yes you should play Pantheon! This game is great!!! it is in early access, so explore and enjoy at your own pace!
A great video and fair review. The only note is that there is adaptive music for the combat, different tracks depending on the severity of the fight. I also enjoy the day/night transition music.
Of note, they are working with the sound team to have the Bard change the music and sounds of battle. No other details as of now but sounds good, especially since I plan to play one… unless it’s carpel tunnel inducing…
Never played an MMO in my life until Pantheon, so addicting and fun you could not imagine.
wow what a start. Pantheon is early, but it is something special.
This game has the groundwork for being amazing. Needs more boss mobs, unique items, map, end game vision.
Looks super fun, I’m hoping it will go on sale some time soon.
A sale, as in price reduction, has not been discussed afaik. Actual launch could be as much as 2 years away. Buy and play now if it sounds fun. Some things are worth paying for. You are basically paying to keep jerks out. It's a sad state of affairs but it is what it is.
I kind of hope they charge a sub fee. I want to see this game grow and id for sure spend 15 dollars a month to play this game and i feel like most people who love this kind of game would too.
Great game, fun times and classic feels
Mind you that 5k on steam doesnt cover the early alpha investors, and backers, who use the games launcher, and not steam. so that 5k is not a full representation of the population playin the game.
The quest stuff is on the back burner til they get more of the world fleshed out. They should get more in depth down the road. Also PvP is on the way, I think slated for later this month, or next month, there will be a PvP server.
I have been using the EA to try out a lot of the classes, so when 1.0 comes, I know what to play. :)
Last note, they have been doin a lot of alpha, and season alphas, where they got the optimization knocked out.
PVP server is just so they can put up another gamer tag on steam for its search results. PVP will die so fast cuz the game isn't a pvp game. Its a gimmick for possible more sales.
@@moforyguy6803 umm nice try but no. The players asked for one, and the devs said ok. It has been asked for numerous times in Game Director Chris Perkins, aka JoppaVash's, stream many times. So, while yes it could increase sales, it isn't the reason they are adding it. They adding it because the players asked for one.
@ More like SOME players have asked...did you play EQ? It won't be balanced and they don't have the resources to moderate it. It will be dead so fast just like it was in EQ.
40$ is too much atm. That's one reason it's not as popular as it could be. It's fun. Still needs alot of work. Some zones you can't enter cause of invisible walls, no sort button but you have literally hundreds of items for crafting. The upgrade skills section doesn't even work yet. It's harder than necessary cause you can't upgrade your spells. It's like a talent tree you can't use
Exactly. I’d instantly buy it at $20, but am hesitant at $40.
Fyi: As someone who has 5+ level 20 plus's.. (And a horde of 10-19's) I have solo'ed 4 of the five to above 20, and the one that took by far the longest, was the Cleric I had grouped all the way. Most classes can solo faster than xp in a group. With some caveats, like buffs. An example my Direlord being my newest 20 did not group once and took a little over 2 days (Probably about 16 hours).
Some classes do far better than others. Looking at you Warrior and Rogue. All I am saying is; You group when you crave being social, or want loot (not available to solo) or to explore places you couldn't go solo. It's not all about the Exp.
Edit: They only plan on one wipe and that is 1.0. They have also stated they were thinking about something like Legacy Servers where they didn't have to wipe and you could keep those Characters,
I am playing Pantheon Rise of the Fallen currently, however I think in the future update if the dev team added proper voice acted character NPCs up to level 20 would really help with the immersion of the game and maybe add a few cutscenes for the intro and mid section of the game 🙏💪
I am playing with my old High School buddy. We haven't gamed together in over 20 years, but it reminded us of playing EQ in high school. Lots of fun to be had even with its foibles.
Pick up every tattered pelt & asherite ore & normal quality pelts, collect everything unless it says general but even then sometimes general items are needed for a quest or the likes & even then, you should gather food items like thyme stacks & pelts to either use for crafting or selling because Pantheon players are very generous with money & I am too, I gave someone bags, gear & bank boxes & 5 gold pieces to encourage him to help me do gear transfer, hoping it would inspire honesty.
If there were a shared bank, I wouldnt need to do item transfers, I would just transfer it to another character using the shared bank.
That music is by the famous Bear MacGreedy. He did the music for a bunch of movies and TV shows. Eureka is one that comes to mind but there are many other, more well known, content.
Love playing it. Adventure with friends and those you met along the way.
Oh yes, bros got a new video out 🤤
Great video!
Been a Pre-Alpha backer since 2019 so I've been in a ton of the test sessions and have seen the growth and changes in the game. If everything they've talked about ends up in this game, this has the potential be an incredible MMO. I've had a blast in the game for nearly 6 years now and already decided that when this fully launches, I'm making this my new MMO home.
From what I have heard this game is supposed to be very solo unfriendly with severe death penalties similar to early EQ. I had been looking forward to this game for years, but after hearing this I don't think I will bother. Sure 25 years ago people had the patients to play games like this. Now many of us don't. Players can shout "Fine go play wow then!" but when the majority of your players leave the game it will ultimately fail. Even EQ has lowered the difficulty since it was originally released. On live you can use plat to pay a npc to summon your corpse for you, you don't lose your gear on death, and there are items and veteran awards that allow you to rez. Even they realized its not the year 2000 anymore.
There is a clearly noticeable difference in gameplay feel. Hooked me right off. Also the crafting is NUTS. Didn't see that coming.
I have been playing it. I love what they have done so far. This will be a great game when it’s all done! It is great now, however I think it needs more polish and some quality of life to appeal to a wider audience.
Pretty sure there are no unity store assets. Jappa has said so anyways, if there are, more evidence needed please.
Grew up on EQ then classic wow/on off till legion. Been following this game since it was annouced but I don't gamble so didn't early support. Im happy to see a playable game and glady started playing. Its been super fun getting that old school mmo vibe with my brothers. Hope more and more give it a try.
I'm diggin it so far. Kind of waiting for Druid to be released now xD
I’ve heard mid- February, I expect it will be pushed back but probably by the end of the month.
@@little0ff I gurantee its going to be a horrible classes. LOL
@ cool mang
Would love to see one on Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore... even the Dev would do a documentary with ya if u asked them :P
indie games getting pretty slick
lost me at death=lost inventory/exp
100 hours in and I love it
im having fun, been on it like 5 days. very much in development but fun, slow, but fun.
I'm playing pantheon, funny I was looking for something new so downloaded wow classic and pantheon. Started wow got about 10 hours then went to pantheon I'm 70 hours in and haven't looked back
I would invest time in this game but knowing that dev won't keep our progression and wipe everything at release is a big no no for me.
it's too much for a ea game though
I want to play once its done with server wipes
New sub. Here from HappyConsoleGamer ❤
From the DQ video? Thanks for checking out my content! 😊
Loving the game
When will it come out of early access
I am playing Pantheon.
Yes you should!! Come join us on Khadassa!
not playing it looks like a poor empty world without the magic that everquest had.
2 year early access with wipes all along the way possible
have they said why they will be having character wipes?
killer game
buy it please. it's amazing
Your negatives I see as positives. If $40 keeps the riffraff away so much the better. If you are under 30-years-old you'd be better off looking elsewhere. This game is for OG players not in need for instant gratification and feeling the reward of a job well done. My wife and I love it. This is our kind of 'Adulting'
Hence why I said its a double edged sword. Keeps bots/gold spammers away too.
i play for 45 hrs and i quit..game is very poor and unfun to run solo and need huge invest of time. however my major issue is the future wipes. maximize the professions take lots of time investment
I just got unlucky, No one to join up no one talking, I ended up refunding and went back to classic wow hardcore.
honestly a few months in to early access now and ye im still enjoying, well worth the money, i look at as7 pints of beer in cash for afew months of fun so far a very good deal. Has it got a way to go absolutley. is it fun as is yes and i hate to say it no map s is so much more imersive, i still press M every now and again.
Someone tag me when the game doesn't look like it was made in 2001
I did play, but less and less now.. Game is great, and looking forward to launch.
Right now the community is pretty small and is very casual - alot of clickers and "dad gaming"
Eh I will wait a bit longer for Monsters and Memories.
Wait it’s out?!
Yep early access on steam
40 is nothing when you have shitty P2w where you pay much more
IT looks good, I just can't justify $40
when unity 6 gets dropped in gam in a week or 2 will look better its unity 5 atm
I made a Halfling Rogue, then proceeded to fall out of a city in the trees. True sign of a great MMO. 10/10
Wild's Ends gives great Kelethin vibes, just needs more NPCs and quests like Availia though.
Do you just say stuff that's generally in the same genre and not care if it makes sense?
How can this game have the most potential of an early access game but also you have said that about every early access game? Pretty sure you made up the unity asset store stuff. And to me it seems like you have an obvious bias right from the beginning.
Horrible review overall bud and I'm not sure some of it makes any sense.
Love the game
Their spell/item icons are from unity store. For example, you’ll see the same icons in Ember’s Adrift.
Also I’m not a great writer so I was trying to say all these EA games are always touted to have “potential “ but how many of them will realistically ever fully release?
I like Pantheon as well, lots of fun imo. 40 dollars well spent.
@@jstlink89 so is he bias because he said it has the most potential or because he said it has unity assets? I'm confused.
@@pipz420 it's just very odd because he says this game has the most potential of any early access game but then immediately says he has said this about every early access game. So then his review is pointless? If all early access games feel the same to him then we really shouldn't disregard this opinion.
It needs to cook for a lot longer before its even decent imo
Its been in the oven for 10+ years. I think they forgot to turn the oven on.
It looks kinda clunky. Are they borrowing a game engine? Google is giving me weird results.
They use Unity I believe.
Placeholder assets 20 years in development. Lmao
Full of bugs and missing content, but it's still $40. That's not a full product that you should pay that amount for yet, it's not done.
Lmao, is there at least 1 game that you would recommend?
Very accurate on this game. I want to play but the wipes are making me wanna wait!
No
2 months itl be empty
Already 1 month and half
@Pygmalion1.6 from my post buddy
Your video popped up in my recommendations, so as a passing rando I mean this in the nicest way possible: do you have a vendetta against the word 'are'?
Do you mean like I have grammar mistakes or something? I’m not a great writer so I wouldn’t be surprised.
@@VagrantVideos Yup. For instance, 3:28: "There is a ton of features", then again at 4:04 "there is six playable races". It happened regularly enough that it became quite noticeable. And again, I mean this in the best of faith.
@@borat656 if I had a proof reader they’d probably catch that or if I used grammarly.
I know it's EQ inspired but it reminds me of Dark Age of Camelot. I recommend if you like old school MMOs
too soon to be talking about a steady playerbase imo..its been not quite 2 months
It's been out since November and player base is pretty steady
@@gladeous4161 my bad. 14th dec on steam
I gave it 80 hours and three different classes, and it's just not for me. The game feels hollow, and there aren't enough camps to support the number of players that are LFG. Of course, most of that could be attributed to it not being complete, but the community is a bit too "solo oriented" for my taste.
I also believe the game will be just another easy mode MMO come 1.0 release as there are so many people complaining about no maps and how you always have to group, etc. After VR gave in to the compaints about how dark nightime was and created the torch slot, I realized that they are going to continue to cater to the EZ mode crew, and this game will wind up being another WoW clone.
Put that on top of the fact that there is already a mod that is nearly finished that will allow GPS location on a map, I will hold out for a real classic type of MMO like Monsters and Memories.
I’m excited for M&M as well.
That price tag though , you can buy 4 complete games
Go buy you bad games then?
40 bucks? And play 4 shitty games? No thanks.
@ i mean i can argue that plenty of great games come in $10 dollar price tag on sale season but don’t let me hold you paying $40 for a promise
@@s.t.5993 Got 130h of fun from this "Promise".
@@gladeous4161 Instead lets play a dying game, that can't barely hold itself in Unity and hacks at G2G have better support than the game itself, right?
Been watching this mmo since day one….and I do not think it offers anything new. The classes it offers are pretty bare bones compared to similar games….I mean come on rangers can’t even tame animal companions as combat pets. Eq2 had this….i could list a books worth of missing gameplay loops. I see this has a poor attempt to do a cash grab marketed towards older gamers.
They wouldn't give me a content creator key so no, the game isn't worth playing. Let them rot.
just spend the $40. it ain't that much for a content creator like you.
besides, stop thinking you're so high and mighty just because you have subs. Most content creator subs will only play games their favourite content creators are playing and will leave the game once you guys leave.
You missing out.
Shoot I wish I got stuff for free😂
SwoleBenji refuses to play this game? Oh, thank God.
I dont know. Im not kind of a ''GRAPHICS IS EVERYTHING'' guy, but this game is ugly. I understand there are some ppl who like this oldschool stuff but come on... we are in 2025 and vanilla wow had better graphics in 2004. I've been waiting for a long time for a new MMO worth investing time, but in 2025 its not gonna be a game like this which is uglier that the one i played for 17+ years.
Full hardcore and group oriented design is also problematic. If you can't make any progress, you're always tied to other people, and ppl have usually life xD and its not easy to organize. Sometimes its hard to organize a raid in wow cuz ppl are bussy and a raid is only 2-3 maximum 4 hours long. And what if you always need a party to be able to play? Quick burnout.
I say that whoever wants to do this, I wish them good luck and good gaming, but we are not in 2000 anymore. It might suit a small community, but it won't appeal to many people today.
Rubbish game
Where is your game?
Nah $40 for early access is crazy work
