Rory came to my university in the early/mid 1980's. I was studying aeronautical operations at San Jose State University. My neighbor mentioned that a blues guitarist, Rory Gallagher, was going to be playing on campus, so we got tickets. Man, that was one of the greatest, most energetic blues jams I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. It was great. Like many blues musicians, they really come to life while playing live, in concert, and Rory was certainly no exception. His live recordings are among the great recordings in my collection. He is missed. Thanks for all you gave us Rory, for you really did give us everything you had.

That was the best rock performance I’ve ever seen. This dude…
Must of watched this over a hundred times over the years, still the best live performance I've seen imo
There is no other like Rory . The energy 🤘
Those bass lines are killer, great playing.
It’s rare that you can listen to and listen to a 10-minute song several times in a row ..
Weekly on my playlist
One of the greatest guitarists that ever lived🥰
That was truly remarkable RIP Rory
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Slash, Joe Perry , and Angus young , mentioned him as their influence...
The first time i heard Rory's music I was disappointed in myself hugely, why so late. For me this great man, God bless his soul is among top five... So unique..
As a musician who also likes to get a little wild and move about the stage, the way Rory deftly navigates those guitar cables is a feat in itself. Like a fighter with perfect footwork.
I have never seen an artist amongst the crowd
Just another value for Rory Gallagher
What a beautiful person
In the eighties he was in Hamburg and Hannover nearly every year and I watched every show. The greatest guitar player ever !!!
I would've killed to watch Rory in any era but he was undoubtedly at his best in late 60s/70s. You're still one lucky SOB
A Real Live One
Never seen a man get involved with the audience as much as rory long may you live .
Gitarrengott!!!!❤❤❤ich flippe aus,,,!!!!🎉
Absolutely magnificent, out of this world! If this is not among the best live rock'n roll performances ever, I don't know what is! Thank you guys!
Saw him in Liverpool in 77 absolutely blown away. Wish I had seen him again. See Gerry McAvoy recently. He signed one of my albums.
I never get tired of listening to Rory so much energy miss him alot! There is no one better for jamming and his bass player is outrageous too!
One of the best live performances of any song, ever !
Rory you have a very big heart, and shows every where around you. I have been bless by your music. Thank you very much .
I was lucky to see the great man many years after this show in Dublin on two occasions & he put that energy in to every single show. He was a phenomenal guitarist, songwriter & performer. Long may you rock Rory 🙏👏👏
Absolutely amazing! One of the best guitarists ever, and this one of his best live performances!
How in God's name am I only getting into him now! I live 20mins from Ballyshannon, no idea why he isn't in the list of best guitarists of all time. The man is INCREDIBLE...
si si il est dans la liste😀
Lucky you. I WULL BE SPENDING a small fortune to attend the Rory festival in 2023. Im coming from California. The pure joy of being with people who love Him like I do, will surely overwhelm me, I can't wait!
@@moto238 California isn’t short on historical music sites and things to see! Rory is the king of Irish rock so I guess he’s worth the trip
Music is subjective, which is a great thing about it. But when he was listed as 57th greatest of all time, that still doesn't do him justice, ask the still living legends what they think of him. Rory for me is up there with Hendrix, Trower, Kossoff, Green and Santana.
1. The bassist is phenomenal!
2. The Misfits totally were influenced by them.
3. Rory is a GUITAR LEGEND UNDERAPPRECIATED!
Y los Ramones....q?????
......... Never ever gonna see anything like this again . His genius is beyond everything , no compare !
I have had the privilege of shaking that mans hand and drinking with him you never meet a nicer human being god I miss him.
Possibly the greatest piece of live music ever recorded.
Terry, I just recently 'discovered' Rory and this is the first time I have heard/saw his absolutely incredible talent. Unbelievable! I'm 76 years old and the only live performance I have ever seen that comes close to this number was Janis singing Ball and Chain at the Montetey Pop Festival way back when. High praise indeed - but well deserved! What an incredible performance! You are 100% correct!
Also possibly the widest stance a bass player has ever sported!
Hearing this for the first time and on pot, man, this is some magical stuff right here.
@@HeilAmarth Same here. I vaporized a few bags from my Volcano and listened to this for the 1st time ever tonight, followed very quickly by the 2nd and 3rd times... There's so much energy to his performances, it's great.
Rory was an amazing/virtuoso guitarist and I feel lucky to have discovered him. I knew his name but had not really listened to or heard his music, now I get the pleasure of watching live performances and listening to playlists. Things are looking up! 👍
Check out his Irish Tour '74 album. Hasn't been bettered since. Cork City Hall gigs have gone down in legend
Saw them live around this time. What a power trio. One of the best gigs I ever saw. Mesmerising.
Rock n roll will never die. Thank you Rory!
You were unreachable💫
Best guitar players ever (in my opinion) - Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore - R.I.P. Legends!!!
agreed 10000%, along with SRV, jimi hendrix, and ritchie blackmore but i must admit rory and gary are the best in the world
check roy buchanan too
Blackmore. He had his unique style. Can't compared to any player
@@nabilhamza71 how true!!
I think we can stick Stevie Ray Vaughan in there too 😊
Damn......you just can't say enough good things about this man! There just aren't words to describe what Rory's music makes you feel. A truly wonderful guy and a total badass on guitar. He doesn't get the credit he deserves! Genius!
He was the original wild man. I swear he is more popular than ever. Long live your Ghost Blues.
The very best Ireland ever had, always for Rory God keep him
Yes Amen!
tied with gary moore for sure
@@johnf6288 Moore can never be compared to the king of the strings, Rory, Rory, Rory.
If not,the worlds best
Jesus H. Tap Dancing Christ! That whole scene of the guitar laying on the stage should be rock legend. You ain't pulling that off without a kick ass rhythm section like he has here.
Agree the bass and drums are awesome..raw rock n roll
Heard about this guy 2 days ago, I've been missing out
I have not seen better live performance than this one! This one is a must requirement for my soul at least once a week. Rory is the true master! And a Real monster!
Anyone in 2024 ???
Yeahh
Hell yeah
