Justin Furstenfeld is a wonderful person! Right before the lockdown, I went to Blue October with my close friend. I had no idea who they were but I figured I'd go for my friend. We were able to get close enough Justin. My friend is a gay man who worked at the Pulse Night Club in FL. He proudly sported a rainbow a LGBTQ patch on his jacket in memorial to his friends he'd lost. The show was so incredible and emotional but during the encore, they started to play this song. It'd been the first time I'd heard it. Justin came down to the barricades and just held my friend's hand for a good portion of the performance. We were both crying & we were both so moved that night and now I'm a a big fan of a lot of their music. Some of it's very sad!!! Some of it's powerful enough to get me going when I'm down. I really loved this reaction!
That must’ve been such a great experience!! Seeing a live show of theirs is on my bucket list but I think I’ll have to get down to TX. Not sure how far they tour anymore (probably not up here to Canada, lol).
I saw them a few times live. Years ago right after their second album came out he was playing a small place in Detroit opening for "Default". They were awesome. During Default's set I ran into him walking around drinking a beer. Got to talk to him a bit he was super cool. After every show during his "open book" tour he meets and greets each person.
So justin furstenfeld is the lead singer of blue october. For years he has struggled with severe bipolar disorder and drug addiction issues. Hes been recovered since the album this song was on and its him sort of recounting how fear was the catalyst behind his issues and how hes working to overcome it.
My favorite song from Blue October! Although I absolutley love There music, FEAR always gets me everytime I listen to it! It makes me feel so incredibly emotional, so inspired that I tear up knowing this is the truth, the way and the light! ❤
Your reaction was pretty much the same as mine the first time I heard/saw this. This man touches more people than he realizes for the better. Having listening to his stuff since the early days it is quite a journey. Regardless if you want to make videos of them or not, I definitely recommend looking into their discography in it's entirety. Whether in video or in private, that is your choice. I just know one thing. Either way, you won't regret it. Either way. Thank you for the video. I hope you will at least look into them. If not for the betterment of your channel, than the betterment for yourself. You are quite correct. His story is important in more ways than any one person could comprehend as it touches and means so many different things to so many different people. Anyone and everyone can benefit from hearing it. Thank you, Kelly, for this beautiful expression of emotion to a a very expressive piece of emotional artistic creation. That is all I have to say. You enjoy yourself and best of luck with your channel.
Another amazing one would be the acoustic version of " Bleed out, buy Blue October" a song he wrote from his wife point of view, looking through her eyes.
Great reaction! Give the official version a listen as well. Different feelings for sure. I flip back and forth between them depending on my moods, but both are beautiful. Many more good songs from Justin and the band. Worry List is another one of my favourites. It’s about his troubles with coparenting with his ex. Another great comparison between the studio version filled with angst to his live version (at this link th-cam.com/video/tNoq9HHBmM0/w-d-xo.html) where he is much more at peace with his life.
The passion Justin brings in at 6:42 is one of the most raw and true feeling that will give you goose bumps. This is music!
Spent time with this guy. He is just an amazing human being.

So amazing live performers. Ryan Delahoussaye amazes me as much as Justin

What a great version of this song. Such unbridled emotion, he feels every note and word
