The way I keep my collection under control is I can only keep what I can display. The way I see it, there's no point of keeping it if you have no room to display it. Whats the point if everything is in storage and "one day" things will shoot up in vaule. Lol this may be just me but I notice things I display tend to be better cared for then when packed into storage containers. I used to trade aswell but over the years there is more shady people and less trust overall. Now I switched to selling because more people are in interested in buying from me plus I'm not selling really high to make huge profits.
If you only keep what you can display you must must not buy be buying anything that isn’t going on your wall. What are you selling then only the occasional car that comes off the display?
@@JustinTyme33 right. I like everything but even then sometimes Mattel comes out with an even better variation which forces me to sell. Mind you I also use a peg board idea to display which allows me to collect more then just displaying everything. Essentially, the front of the pegs is what gets displayed because I like going through them like if i were in the store peg hunting 😆.
@@R26Roman I don’t have the room to display everything at once so I have to change up my display. There is always some stored away til I decide to change up the room. Sometimes its all black-walls from 78-89 sometimes it’s HWC RLC on display? I only have 780 cars on display at a time. Twelve 65 car displays. I don’t sell anything though.
I collect what i like but it Happens to be everything i have super cars next to jdm next to muscle cars next drift next to fantasy next to character cars next monster trucks i want slim down collection but like it gonna be tough i have over 800 cars 😂
Hate to break it to you but this is a common practice in this hobby. Now if he were selling mainlines for huge profits then I'd understand but we don't know that for sure. I sell things too but not a crazy prices. For example those EK civics red editions selling for $20 a pop or more, I sold for $10. I sell but not to rip people off. Pricing is based off what the market dictates. Now mind you I'm not waking up early to scalp anything it's just whenever I go I see something I use it as a way to fuel the hobby.

I recently started collecting about 4 months ago. I only collect what I like, NOT EVERY release.
My simple rule is buy what you like and buy what you can afford
