Why would he be afraid to say he’s a Hindu. If people are proud of his origin and that he’s claiming to be a hindu, in that case, all Indians should also be grateful to Britain for providing opportunities to other ethnic minorities even though Indian Britons are one of the largest communities there from the Indian diaspora. That’s where the hypocrisy comes out. Half of the Indians were happy when the queen died when they had nothing to do with the country or the royal family but went straight back to a history they haven’t seen. Some of them are rejoicing thinking life’s come to a full circle because an Indian origin (for those who think so) British man is now PM. Would India ever be able to accept people from other ethnic groups as their leaders? Never in the past and nothing has changed so far. There’s a lot of hate and hypocrisy in this country

Is the cast system inherent and essential to Hinduism? Also does it have many interpretations as most other old religions?, what is the inference of worshiping a cow ? .At a christian I worship Jesus as creator and perfect savior to name but two of his attributes .However I imagine worshiping a cow is a very different thing and I am in the dark as to its significance .

2ndly - casteism was NEVER part of Hindu religion (actually there was no such thing as Hindu religion- Hindu name is given by outsiders.) We call it "Sanatan Dharm". & It is the only "religion" (actually it's not a religion, we never called it religion, it's actually a way of life, it's what comes after and before religion) that has no rules and is ever changing. Casteism is a stuck way of categorising people which a few set of opinionated judgemental people in power during a certain time period tried to solidify. & You know who these were, these people were the British people. The solidification happened by the Britishers who didn't understand how the "Varn" (not caste) system worked. Varn system is just a way of categorising people on the basis of the work they do. Like academicians, Military, Entertainers - these are categories. Sometimes, the offsprings join in their parents/ancestors field too & it may continue for several generations. So they gain repute in that field. Varn system was a natural organic way. Yes, there were some who became arrogant and demanded that respect because of who they have been, either in their generation or for several generations. This is visible even in the white people's world of today. It comes from merit of knowing your subject. I'm not saying it's right. But it's that ego which is common to people across the world even today. But you know what, it worsened because Britishers & even Islamic rulers fixed it in the official books. They made it worse. & The arrogance of those given higher castes worsened coz of higher positions given to such people in the Raj.

A Prime Minister cannot decide everything on his own and nor a Finance Minister or a Chancellor for that matter. You need to crucify somebody then go ahead with crucifying the people who voted and the leaders who lead the campaign on having Brexit because the real problem lies in there. That is what lead to the current situation.
