Nice workmanship again... if you sandblast metal with sand, it tends to pit the metal, if you can get hold of walnut shells or macadamia shell, it tends to eat the paint and rusted areas of metal without pitting it, which makes it easier for restoration, saving time and sandpaper... but excellent work bro!
not only painting.. one hole was badly covered, so paint came in.... don't look good for me too. Such lovely sanding and polishing .... and then... painting?
aaaaaaaand explain to me _WHY_ you’re hating on a great restoration video? like yeah dude he might not have needed to paint it but seriously no need to leave an angry comment
I never thought I'd say this about a wrench but it is beautiful. You've done well, sir. I really enjoy your videos. The whole video, not just the sand blasting, provides a sense of satisfaction. Thank you for sharing.

There's just one small problem with any tool restoration: it's very difficult to use them after restoring them because ~ s c r a t c h e s ~ Great restoration mate! Keep your amazing videos coming! 😊
U gotta take a tool, put your hand up and then put it down quickly saying: to hell with it (we make it Russia this way). Whatever happens, it's really helpfull, russians undestand.
Excellent restore as always, better than new! Now to find a nut large enough to use that thing :) However don't use grease for the lubrication for open threads like this. Grease traps dirt, debri, gunk in it causing it to wear down the mechanism and eventually turn stiff. Not to mention messy. If the components were enclosed or sealed, then yes grease it. Just use good old oil, a few drops will do and it allows any gunk to be carried away. You can just wipe off with a rag and apply a few more drops to keep it running smooth agian. Also less messy and easier cleanup. Just keep an old oily rag around to do cleanup on mechanisms like this, then wipe the untire tool down to protect the finish from oxidation. Keep up the great content.
Not gonna lie. I find it far more relaxing to see the filing of casting markings and such etc. rather than the sandblasting. I could watch the whole process for hours and be in a state of zen. You truly take pride in your craft and should be proud.
I'm so glad you restored the wrench insted of chopping it up. I wished I had the money to buy it from you. I would give it to my Brother to use. He works on large Farm trucks an tractors to help other Farmers in his rural Comunity. My Brother has been through so much. The biggest hurdle he has had to have Anursim Surgery that after they had to take a piece of his skull out was in a Coma for 2 weeks an then had to learn how to do everything again.
Look at the quality of the wrench though, the metal has almost no tolerance and it still works after so long... Manufacturing today should take note of this.
Hier je vois une vidéo des frères poulains qui restorent une vieille clé à molette faites par les frères Peugeot et aujourd'hui je viens sur cette chaîne et je vois presque la même clé se faire restaurer, j'adore les coïncidence comme ça
I watch a few other people do "restorations" and all it does it make me want to scream. Why cant people just do it right if that's what they are going to do? Thank you so much for taking the extra time to primer, paint and do a real restoration. I always end up here and enjoy seeing the job done right!
@@TysyTube Somewhat of a relative question: Do you ever go back and watch your videos/clips to see how you disassemble stuff when you reassemble them? I'm thinking of the most complicated stuff you've done.
The red stripe is called custom work. Personalizes the tool. Beautiful work. The bench vise, I recognized from a previous video. Great learning clip. Thanks
Without a doubt, it has been your most "difficult" restoration. Loved your sense of humour. Cracked me up. 😄 They are not made like that anymore. When things were made to last. It is beautiful, I want it. ❤❤❤
I've been watching your videos for a while now and find them very satisfying. You're such a artist and a craftsman. Thank you for sharing all these with us. I have often wondered what you do with them once they're finished - many so beautifully they should be in a museum.
yes, I like the sandblasting. After watching a few of your recent videos and enjoying them, I decided to start from the beginning and watch all of what you have posted. I noticed the sand blaster was not there at the start, so I was eagerly waiting to get to the videos that had it. I'm here now and still enjoying everything you are posting! Keep going!
Вполне рабочий ключ был, а получился музейный экспонат. Если такой отдать действительно в работу, рабочему человеку через два три месяца будет первоначальный вид. Результат конечно супер. It was a working key, but it turned out to be a museum exhibit. If you really give this to work, the working person in two three months will be in its original form. The result is certainly super.

PP is Pierre Peugeot - the inventor of the large bent wrench and one of the founders of the car company.
I thought PP stands for Papa Peugeot... just kidding. 😊
He invented the wrench? Or just casted this one?
@@StephenGillie he invented "bent wrenches". Not the first wrench
wow, cool. An original. Nice
Or patent pending?
I have never seen such a complicated disassembling in all my life. I thought it couldn't be done.
😨😰😱
Lol 😂
the difficult part is to remember all and to put every single piece back in the exact position
@@carlopumares3055 So true. It looked like a pain trying to line up the adjusting gear to put back in place. One wrong move and goodbye alignment.
It was positively perplexing
I assume the red strip makes it go faster, as our 70's cars did?

Glass is also an option, recycled glass is being made into sandblasting media. Clean Bite. Not sure it's as "soft" as the shell options are though.
Urgh, why'd you have to paint it?! Bare metal looks okay too sometimes!
Agreed. If this tool was put back into use, the paint would quickly flake off on the handle and wrench head from wear and tear.

Tysy never uses what he restores, all for museum
TySy Tube: PLEASE restore your buffing wheel/bench grinder!
Do not need restore until contact with the metal sides.
Never mind the buffing wheel, the whole bench grinder could use an overhaul, the motor in particular...
I was thinking the same thing. Poor little thing.😁
And paint it yellow!
Why do people INSIST on painting everything...? I thought it looked gorgeous completely silver, but alright.
Painting it red on the sides was a nice touch. I enjoyed the restoration.
Who in the world would give this artist a thumbs down, that's unbelievable.

The sandblasting had always been my favourite it’s so satisfying 😂😂
Wrenches have so much history! Nice restoration!
Mystery solved! This wrench is used to make the perfect croissant!
That was a complex piece. Lots of small parts but, you pulled it off without losing a piece.
Rather enjoy the fun part of finding the subtle subscribe messages.
I know it's excessive but I wish the sanding section just kept going and going to 12k grit. XD
that would be overkill....
If he had gone to 2500 grit he wouldn't have needed polish it!
