So helpful! Very difficult to find videos with explanation alongside testing, instead of either/or. Breaks it down very nicely, thank you!

I have a blood back class and you explained it very easy to understand. I understood that when we have to perform DAT test. Thank you.

Thanks for your videos ! Looks like my DAT s except I’m not patient enough to do manual washing and I prefer two drops of reagents vs 1. Minor I’m sure :)

    Thanks for uploading this video!
PS you don't need to add a weight tube when you have 3 tubes and 12 available spaces. Just leave 3 spaces empty between each tube.

This is my absolute favourite way to amaze new techs. They never believe that you can balance 7 tubes without a counterbalance. In fact, every number other than 1 can be balanced in a 12 position rotor without a counterbalance! It's so simple, but always surprising the first time you see it, lol.

My daughter, now 31, has PNH. Her recent coombs DAT was positive but WVU (Morgantown, WV) has not figured it out yet.
My former boss @ WVU (in Charleston, WV), Dr Michael Hall, who I work for when our daughter was a baby placed her port for treatment. She has had transfusions so we don't know yet if that affected the coombs test or something besides the PNH.

i was told to do 60 secs centrifuge in between washes; also i was told when peforming a DAT test it should 2 drops of polyspecific and IAT should be 2 drops of monospecific.
