UPDATE : I made some mistakes in this video. You can be chased by using handbrake & doing a burn IF you press it a little bit longer. You can also be chased on red light but on some occasion they don't spot you running the red light. I was really lucky with my spots. Still a huge mistake on my part !
Traffic lights is due to Reflections miss flagging junctions. As the flag for the junction tells whether or not if it has a stop light or not. Not the stop light itself. So if it’s not flagged but has the stop light models it will handle the junction as if there isn’t a stop light there. This can also happen vice versa as in your video even at one point they announce that you “ran a red” even though there was no stop light at that junction. Also all traffic lights are globally shared for lights green and red. Easiest way to tell if the junction is working properly or not is to see if traffic ignores the red light or not. It’s really bad in Driver 2’s Las Vegas.

In PS1 version you can also honk at pedestrians ceveral times while the cops around to slowly increase a felony bar
And if you only do once or twice, just so you don't have enough felony to start a chase, it will actually deplete over time and return to 0
For a 1999 game, it was quite detailed, since i even didn't know about those stuff until now xD . I just avoided them.
I spent soo much time on this game back in the day. Good times. Fun game, still fun to play today. Nice vid, when I played it a lot I just assumed anything would annoy the cops so avoided them if I could haha.
If your car slightly jump while you hit the gas, they'll start to pursuit too, even if you're not over the speed limit. Same with the 2.
The best game in the driver series,the cops are really brutal cant forget the briefcase mission,its hell on earth if you put the difficulty to hard.urrgh dont get me started even with the last mission of saving the president😅
6:44 - i managed to finish the game like that. cops just pushed me out of bounds and i somehow managed to get the trigger crashing into the bridge
I really feel like there should have been an extra button in Driver that makes you drive at the speed limit so you don't have to keep feathering the throttle when a cop is in sight... Mafia 2 had a good idea too where if you tap a control it limits your top speed to the speed limit.
You have this on the PC version !
In the mobile version you can tap the speedometer to set how fast your car is going.
ps1 is more realistic because they'd chase you for these things in real life too

My very first video game I ever played. I once managed to activate tank mode without any cheats, just by pure gameplay. What a game.
Such a subtle detail that they'll chase you when driving without headlights. Plus, if you are honking the pedestrians, the felony bar will fill up a bit. Up to some point, the cops will start chasing.
Another felony is you are turning like law-abiding citizens but with pressing full steering lock button.
Cop difficulty also play a factor on roadblocks. Notice the roadblock layouts with different difficulties. Hope you can show in later videos. 😉
However, there are some corrections that I've might be wrong though:
Handbrake, burnout, and running through red lights are still a felony in PS version but you can do burnouts and handbrake less than a second without raising the felony bar.
Running on red is a felony unless you are turning right on red. New York map is weird because I could run through red lights on most junctions but some are not.

You are right about burnouts and handbrake, it's a felony if you press it longer. Gutted to have missed this information for this video !
As for the red light, i tried it again with different timing & spots and i got chased most of the time. I was really lucky with the spots i did for this video. Huge mistake on my part !

I had a really crazy dram yesterday which felt like another reality but this game was in my dream and I got to play it just looked more hd. Man I miss this game. Part of my childhood when I had a ps1 and let’s not forget about driver 2 but driver 1 just felt really late 80s early 90s car chase. I was born in 96 but man do I like the 80s and 90s vibes. Need to buy a copy of this game again when I buy a ps2

Nonethless you still did a good job. And presented many nice details f.e. when you hit a cop car will fill the felony bar more than when you hit f.e. a civilian car or a lamppost. And I think that the cop at 9:10 drunk too much liquor.

Useing a horn is a felony too
The jumps. You can lose the law by going into those bridge jumps at high speed they can't control their car when it comes down. Those cops run u down like GTA 5

What gets me is that your felony bar goes up when they ram you
All the cop cars have a white trunk/roof texture but only San Francisco uses it for the trunk. While the other cities uses the hood texture but just zoomed in so you can’t easily tell.
So if I get felons in one game and then lose myself to the police, will my felons stay forever until I restart the game?

Holy shit, this is a game from back in the days when CPUs managed running NPCs in front of a danger. Unlike this weak modern CPUs at consoles as ps4 that just can't handle NPC simple behavior in cyberpunk...
Dude, how you did to find a parked cop car at 10:12? I didnt managed to find one in the entire game!
If you follow them then can sometime park, but not for long.
