    Dear Star Wars,
I came from a broken home, where almost every night had violence. My family was not a good one, but we all loved you. In particular, my brother and mother loved you more than anything else. Those few nights when we’d gather around to watch you sparked my love of fiction because you were one of the few things that unifed my Family. This was why I fell in love with you, and storytelling in general. It had the power to unify hearts as divided as my families.
Then I got older and the prequels came out. I didn’t like them and still don’t, but the hype building up to this exciting new era, getting up early to watch stupid TV shows with scraps of information was one of my favorite memories. As was playing as Kyle Katarn when my parents let me stay with my brother and he’d let me use his office PC. So many memories. Even if I didn’t like the prequels, I appreciated them as someones artistic vision, that was consistent with what came before.
That’s why when Disney bought you, I was happy. I thought they WOULD be a good home for you. I waited for episode 7 without getting to excited, I had been down that road before.
But for me, thats where you first looked ill. I knew something was wrong, and I didn’t like it at all, but I saw the potential for growth. Maybe you were just tired, not sick. Maybe next movie would get you back on your game.
Then I saw Rogue One as my first date with my now wife. We loved it! It wasn’t my favorite, but it was a lot better than episode 7. You weren’t sick. I was sad it was unwritting my favorite, Kyle, but I wanted to give you room to grow.
But I couldn’t deny what I had seen in episode 7, you were seriously ill. That’s why I decided I’d only go see episode 8 if it was universally loved.
Then, it came out. I knew you were dead.
Others saw the corpse puppeted and said that you were alive, or still had potential. I almost believed them when the Mandolorian came out with Lukes return, but your puppet masters fired Gina Corono, and I gave up hope for seeing you live agiain.
    We’ll always have legends. Goodbye.

Having a funeral for something that died 12 years ago... we didn't know it was dead initially, but now it can't be denied. Things that needed to be said were said - thank you Film Threat and members of the extended Fellowship. We've been grieving for years, time to put SW to rest (and Disney in our rear view mirror) and move on with our lives.

Y'know, except for Andor, and Mandalorian S1-S2, and Rogue One. Solo was alright. And there's been at least a handful of fun, solid games in the past decade too. Most of Disney Star Wars has been pretty terrible, but this whole thing is just weird. Especially since you know everyone here is still going to talk about every single Star Wars property that gets released after Acolyte. It still brings in clicks and drives engagement. You can't treat this like its a goodbye, unless you actually mean for it to be a goodbye.

@@KarazolaX Funeral was for OG SW. Disney SW is being treated as a separate entity with a separate identity- it will have a separate funeral. Without going into details, OG SW was escapist entertainment safe for kids largely appealing to boys and Disney SW is a "modern" social justice message platform largely appealing to adult SWF, SJW and L+ that are into science fiction.

Never thought I'd be saying this, but I'm glad Disney destroyed Star Wars. Not because we've seen our heroes and favorite stories and beloved characters turned into propaganda that has infected our society, turning everything we've held dear into something abhorrent to even look at or hear. But because they've shown us their true intentions. Their true agendas. They've united so many by trying to divide the few, their agenda has wholeheartedly backfired and become the very thing we all said would happen over a decade ago. It's no longer a worry to wonder if Disney will make something truly better anymore, because they never wanted to, and that's clear now. So much is clear, through and through, and we have Disney to thank. For truly becoming the tyrant for which we have united against, for showing us what greed and pride and hate looks like.

SW died in the mid to late 80s. It’s corpse was dressed up and trotted out in 1997 to drum up money for the desecration brought on by the prequels. Anything Disney did was after George sold the corpse of his child. SW since 2012 is certainly a shambling zombie, brought back by dark magic and powered by greed.
SW died young and has been impersonated ever since, increasingly poorly.

I actualy shed tears during this stream! Both in laughter but mostly in sadness!
I still remember standing in line to get tickets to the first Star Wars movie I ever saw in a theatre, the Phantom Menece! Yes kids! We actualy had to stand in line to get tickets back then!
I saw some of my favorit characters realized on the big screen! And even tho I thought the pod race scene felt blotted Jar Jar to goofy, I still loved it!
But then we got the death of one of my favorit characters at the hands of his son, with no old friend standing behind him while his oldest hairy friend watched in horror!
Then the hero that could see the good in the most fallen one, fell to the darkness himself, when he tryed to kill his nephew!
The Matriarch that takes a Mary Poppins ride in space, and no longer was the leader that could make us believe in the strength in the rebellion anymore!
The trio would never hug each other again, after a victory well done!
My mild hope that we could get a good story with Finn was also wasted as a comical relief!
Now we get wannabe antiheroes that are directed by the people that don't seem to understand what it means to be a hero!
If Disney want to know what a hero is they can look no further than this one!
Corey Comperatore! A father that was shot while attempting to shield his family! A real hero! 🙏
May the force be with you all! Always!

When I was 7, I watched Star Wars, Empire, and Return of the Jedi for the first time. They were airing on TV, before they were completely remastered but after some touch ups, around the time Shadow of the Empire was reviving the series. Either way, it was love at first sight, I watched the OT multiple times after, playing the video games all the way through multiple times, reading many of the books multiple times. Star Wars was severely damaged before, I haven't forgotten Star Wars Kinect, or the massive fumble that was The Force Unleashed 2, but the wound Star Wars sustained because of TLJ...I knew it was terminal, but I didn't realize it was a Fist of the North Star situation. I can still read the books, because it's current owners can't read, so they're mostly safe. I have no tears left to shed, I have no wrath left, I'm just tired.

Disney can never take my fondness with Star Wars and the special relationship I have with my father by bonding over Star Wars. I was introduced to Star Wars first through John Williams epic music on vinyl before I even saw a single frame of it. He was determined to make his son a fan of Star Wars and by golly he did. I was obsessed with it ever since he took me to see Phantom Menace in theaters as a child. Regardless of what people think of the Prequels, it was George Lucas Star Wars through and through with the very good and the very bad. He always reminds me how when immediately after Darth Maul gets cut in half by Obi Wan, I wanted to leave because the bad guy died so the movie was over completely for me 😆 Star Wars got me through tough times as we were separated and what did I have to help me cope with my fathers absence as a child at the time? It was Star Wars. I will not let petty, vindictive, ideological, talentless Karen's ruin what something my father and I bonded over. I am a Star Wars fan like my father before me and his father that took him to see the OT in 1977.

That beginning brought me to tears. I was 10 when I saw for the first time Star Wars. Granted, it was 1997, but I was getting ready to watch it, as I was gonna see the prequels.
And I never stopped watching them. Shame this happened. Who would've thought...
I used to say to a friend of mine "I love Star Wars more than Star Trek, because it has not only a deep lore, but also a great way to communicate the real difference between good and evil". And look at us now...
Evil is good. Left is right, and Disney still thinks they can make a profit with this awful sh.t they call "Star Wars".
Until this last show I used to call it "Tofu Star Wars". It was like having a 5 course meal, and they needed to add tofu to every dish, just for the sake of making it bigger (Like they did with each content and show they released). Now, I call it for what it is..."Disney Canon out of my ass Wars"...
    Hail Film Threat :D

Sadly its not like Star Trek is in a better position then Star Wars these days. Which just like Star Wars has been in the hands of hacks who don't like or understand Star Trek. The whole 25% different deal between Paramount and CBS hasn't helped too. (its why Post 2005 Star Trek looks kinda off)

    • @Zanzoltan
      @Zanzoltan หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@VersVlees Not only Star Trek. Doctor Who too. And so many others. Hell, like 80% of my childhood is now a memory of what it was when I was growing up. They are destroying everything. Even video games that I used to love...
And all for the sake of "Modern Audiences". Which, they don't buy/see/or even care anymore.

I'll always remember the good times. I grew up with the prequels so I feel like I became a star wars fan at the perfect time. Say what you will about that Era but we were getting Movies, comic books, and video games galore. I remember all of my friends and I had our own lightsabers, all different colors of course. And we would just reenact our favorite scenes from the movies together. You just don't see that kind of love from this new generation anymore

2:57:47 I agree with Verbal about Mando S2. I really thought Mandalorian had a legit chance of bringing the feel of the original SW back. I liked the first 2 seasons and had tears in my eyes during the S2 finale when Luke was absolutely destroying everything in his path. I thought the setup was great and had a huge payoff. It was the first time we got to see Luke “in his prime” with a great mastery of the Force. And I even liked the couple of episodes where Mando was the prominent character in Book of Boba Fett. After that is when the wheels fell off for me. It was a shame. I really thought they had a chance there. RIP 🪦💀

Father Ng .perfect name and very ironic, since Disney Star Wars doesn't want anyone " fathering " anything or anyone. Especially the two mother having twins.

that's true that Timothy Olyphant was the best part of the shows he was in, but not because of anything in the script. It's just because he's Timothy Fucking Olyphant and oozes cowboy charisma.

My first Legosets I purchased with my little money were "Y-Wing and Vaders T-Fighter" and "Anakins Podracer". I still remember building Lego set ups according to the movies (battle of Hoth, Yavin and Endor especially, podraces, ...) with my friends. Not even Lord of the rings came this close to the lunacy we developped with star wars.😅
I proudly introduced my son, when he was old enough and he kept on with that level of engagement.
I felt the crumbling first with the last seasons of clone wars. I had some hope after Roque One, but it didnt last long. Shortly after that, somehow Mary Sue came in the franchise...the rest is herstory.
    RIP Star wars
