The people who care about race swapped characters are the same people who cares about gender swapped ones or characters who's personality is changed. They are lifelong lovers of the franchise who doesn't want some weirdo changing it to fit their ideology. I hope this did not come off as me trying to tell Mr. Gore off. Just to give my feedback on caped crusader. I think with some tweaks on writing it could've been better and i think you gus might be delving too much into the therapy session. I think it was fine. Bruce WAS faking a billionaire playboy persona. But i would've liked it better if it was Hugo strange and not harley quinn. So anyway i suggest episode 1 can be in gotham pd's pov and batman appears mostly as a mysterious figure maybe helping them twart a robbery by an unknown party. I think that could make batman mysterious and work to hype the audience. Episode 2 can be false face robbing a party of wealthy aristocrats (here we introduce bruce wayne as one of the "victims"). Gotham pd investigates and batman does his own investigation. At the end of the episode batman is shown meeting with alfred and being revealed to be bruce wayne. Episode 3 build up on penguin and rupert thorne. Episode 4 catwoman and so on.
I agree. I don't hate it as they do, but also won't say it's great. It has its moments. I do like they used the old-school Clayface and Catwoman though. Those two episodes were my favorite in the series. Now that you said it, that portrayal of Harley was much closer to Hugo.

She's infectious, which says a lot about her ability to perform as well as her overall personality... Batman? Woke Crusader, is such a DEI snoozefest... The characters are usually boring or over the top, and many of the situations are ridiculous and/or unbelievable... When the sex changed Penguin was being treated like a sex object by her audience, I was immediately taken out of any possible immersion... Then when she just arbitrarily believed every word said to her by her arch-nemesis crime boss, I just called shenanigans and almost quit watching at that point... It was only downhill from there... I watched the whole show. Yes it is apparent this is more MAX/WB woke stuff like the Harley Quin show. However I will say 2 episodes that stood out as actually decent were the Clayface Episode and the Catwoman episode. Both did a great job portraying their Golden Age comic versions while also dropping a lot of Easter eggs. Outside of that tho, the rest of the show is mediocre to downright woke cringe depending on the episode

What's happening to Caped Crusader is the same problem that befell the Terminator franchise -- they took a legacy character that, for many, became ingrained in pop consciousness (John Connor in T2) and took steps to either marginalize, downplay or eliminate his influence entirely. T1 and T2 sets up and revolves around John Connor being the savior of the human race, an idea that's eventually borne out by T3 (despite saying Connor dies). Salvation posits Connor as a second-stringer who arguably isn't the main character (second to Marcus Wright) in a planned trilogy that would have been focused around him. Genisys had him get corrupted by Skynet, turn evil and die. Dark Fate threw him out the window completely in the first five minutes and replaced him with a distaff female counterpart who was nowhere near as interesting as him. What is happening to Batman now, especially as of late and across multiple mediums, has a similar intent. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has Batman get brainwashed off-screen, act as a villain for the story, get defeated in an anticlimactic way and then be executed by Harley after she rants at him about his inability to do anything. The Batman '89: Echoes comic, a spinoff of the Batman '89 comic (criticized for injecting woke elements into the story to minimize Batman's influence) has Bruce Wayne taking a backseat in the story (he doesn't really do anything in the half of the series other than go undercover in Arkham Asylum) in favor of Barbara Gordon, who's propped up as the nominal lead character. The Arkham Knights game had him die in the opening and get resurrected by a Lazarus Pit in the ending, while the characters they used to try and prop up his legacy either failed miserably or didn't make an impact with players. I'd be more impressed if the next Batman project had Bruce get killed off in the opening and permanently replaced by a woke female superhero for the indefinite future. That's clearly what a number of these showrunners want, but they can't go through with it because it always leads to the property self-destructing.
Hopefully, Zack Snyder can complete his *_Rebel Moon_* story, but Netflix needs to avoid this theatrical cut/director's cut crap. Just release the version Snyder wants to make from the get-go.

I am in the minority that felt The Caped Crusader isn't as bad as what FT is saying. The shows biggest issue for me is that the character reimaginings don't service the characters as well as writers think they do. This is because Timms original concepts for these characters worked so brilliantly before. This ridiculous & ignorant idea of trying to "Fix" or "Reimagine" perfectly fleshed out characters has been the bane of talented creators trying to stay "relevant".
Chris, one thing I have to kind of push back against, RMB often talks about Star Trek like this, this is not the same universe we live in. Meaning Star Trek is adjacent to our world and this series is not the same 1940s that our world experienced. I really enjoyed the Cat Woman episodes. Overall I thought it wasn’t horrible, but not great either.
Unfortunately The Fandom Menace and channels aligned don’t really care about being alternative and only wants to rage bait clicks cuz it’s easy. They’ve become what they’ve hated and it shows because they’re getting tired of the same talking points. If they genuinely cared about being the alternative they would move on and find ways of creating works instead of milking the dead carcasses that are part of these corporate brands/industry. At the end of the day the best stories are ones that focus on the indelible human spirit. If they don’t wanna work on being the alternative then people will go elsewhere. I know I have.

Batman Caped Crusader show is Fantastic. The music score and vibe feels like the BTAS from the 90s. The gender and race swap does not annoy me as much, mostly because they nailed the characters personalities.

Chris, one thing I have to kind of push back against, RMB often talks about Star Trek like this, this is not the same universe we live in. Meaning Star Trek is adjacent to our world and this series is not the same 1940s that our world experienced. I really enjoyed the Cat Woman episodes. Overall I thought it wasn’t horrible, but not great either.
Unfortunately The Fandom Menace and channels aligned don’t really care about being alternative and only wants to rage bait clicks cuz it’s easy. They’ve become what they’ve hated and it shows because they’re getting tired of the same talking points. If they genuinely cared about being the alternative they would move on and find ways of creating works instead of milking the dead carcasses that are part of these corporate brands/industry. At the end of the day the best stories are ones that focus on the indelible human spirit. If they don’t wanna work on being the alternative then people will go elsewhere. I know I have.
Whatever they make next lets all watch it so she will leave no matter how much it hurts. Lets all take one for the team. It may give them a false sense of security and they make more bad things but at least she will be gone.
Batman Caped Crusader show is Fantastic. The music score and vibe feels like the BTAS from the 90s. The gender and race swap does not annoy me as much, mostly because they nailed the characters personalities.
This Harley Quinn is Mild Fat & Bland. And Female Penguin is and oddly shaped monster Who actually killed her Son? Am still watching the show. But it misses the mark of the original 90’s spectacular. Sad because they nailed the mood. But everything else is a weird miss
Got halfway through the first episode and completely lost interest and checked out. And I really wanted to like it.
Ok… hear me out… Aris was meant to be the main character. That’s why we got a 30 minute opening scene of his back story. Cora feels extremely tacked on if you look at the movies story beats. My opinion? Cora was added to appease Netflix. Why do I think that? It makes no sense for KK to reject a script about a girl boss. Think about it.. and you can’t say “well, the story wasn’t good, that’s why she rejected it,” have you seen the other girl boss shit Star Wars has been churning out?
I thought *_Batman: Caped Crusader_* was a 6/10; I like the tone and the 1940s aesthetic. My only major complaint, aside from the woke/dei crap, was that it wasn't more harder edged than *_Batman: The Animated Series._*
That is debatable...when The Batman r*pes Batgirl was terrible
The Caped Crusader show is great from start to finish...idk what show they are watching when they say Batman is hardly in the show 🙄 I can already see the agenda.
Now I do agree the 1940's thing when it comes to race/ethnicity in America should play apart in this show.
