  • On this week of Forever Home, we are repairing some massive water damaged that had occured to the side of this Forever Home. Turns out it was another case of incorrect J-channel flashing causing the water to become trapped against the wood, eating the entire bottom of the beam. Our team repaired the existing water damage, reinstalled a new wooden beam, and corrected the incorrect siding insuring that this issue would never happen again!

To me it's absolutely shocking how you can put any flashing on top of anything coming from above.

We agree with you! But some people just don't know any better, which is why we create these videos. Often, we get calls from homeowners several states away, who have used our videos to educate their contractors and "hold their feet to the fire" to do the job correctly.
Sometimes, the trades bat-out-of-order... and if someone is installing something out of sequence... later in the process, who should have gone first, that is another scenario where things go wrong real fast... because the highly skilled fit and finish teams have already been there, who would normally finalize things or make corrections.
