    Another great video!! I have a CP88, and I was initially torn between the CK88 and the CP88, and the reason why I chose the latter is because of the action, which is significantly better than the CK. Although I do lose out on organ/synths, but honestly, I do so much plain old piano playing that it doesn't even matter. There was something about the CK that made me think I was going to be disappointed with it-I don't know what it was, so I guess out of fear of that, I chose the CP, and it's an awesome keyboard! Now, of course, I think the CK is great, too-I have nothing against it, that was just my personal choice.

      I also wonder what the trade-offs are on the ck. But I sort off see why it makes sense from a marketing perspective (Yamaha making money and trying to get you to buy 2 boards - CP or YC + CK)

      Ck seems somehow an extravagant economic..highly featured...yet something of
      Great sound with extensive controls...they seem potentially fragile.
      Unusual touch on 88 but an incredible value.
      The 61 is full featilured..with slightly small keys size
      However if your creativity is big and a budget that's limited
      You can outcreate much more expensive equipment as you practice record and perform
      The detailed technical offerings in tone and connectivity are unmatched

    Your early discussion misled everyone a bit by characterizing the YC series as primarily an organ replacement keyboard. Yes, the YC61 has waterfall keys and a light touch plus the organ capability is great, but the YC88 (which I have) has a fully-weighted keyboard and feels very similar to my Kawai grand piano. The pianos, Rhodes, strings, pads, synth and other sample sounds are primarily to stage musicians and make the YC88 much, much more than merely an organ keyboard. You might want to brush up on the YC series before your next video.

    Se o YC e o CP fosse um único, seria imbatível! Acho um pouco tolo a yamaha não colocar todo seu potencial em 1 único stage! Esse seria "o sonho de consumo"

    I'd appreciate any feedback... I have just bought a CK88 (within return limit) and cant help feeling i might prefer the CP73. Im not an organist. So dont need drawbars. Mainly looking for piano with pads and a bit of synth. CP is clearly better made. Help please!!what should i do?

      Draw bars set aside, the YC's are pound for pound better keyboards than CP/CK. It's not just an organ 'replacement.' It's the best overall stage board on the market

    Ck 61 so light portable. Does yc and cp run on batteries and usb funtions thanks guys. This is pianoman kirky you tube channel. I use es 8 kawai yam 515 and yam psr 3000 has harmonies. Psr 473 not have hatmony voices to sing but psr 900 Does and i think better quality. What is best drum accomp tracks to operate through ck 61 speakers usb or aux imput and how thanks a million you talented friendly curtious guys.

    Owned all three at one time. Currently have the CK. For what it is, it is awesome. Best interface and tons of flexibility. Sadly, I’m going to be selling it and going back to either CP or YC. The quality of sound is much better (even though they are supposed to have similar samples, I don’t think they do). Regretting getting rid of my CP88 and YC61. Both are even better with recent updates

      Are you saying the quality of the samples is better on the CP and YC?

    • @RyanHicks306
      @RyanHicks306 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sloimer not so much between CP and YC, but more CK, Clavinova, and CP/YC. I am familiar with the CFX sample as an example and all sound slightly different, even on Clavinova's. As the speaker systems are different, I am comparing through headphones. None sound bad, but the P515, Clavinova, have a different sounding sample of CFX to my ears to the CK and CP/YC. My personal favorite is the Nashville, which CP has (maybe YC does now too).

      @@RyanHicks306 Very interesting. Makes me wonder if Yamaha has jumped the shark a little with all these models. It’s a bit confusing lol.

    • @RyanHicks306
      @RyanHicks306 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Sloimer I can say all are great in their own way. I am in Canada and would add I don’t expect the $1999 CK88 to sound as good as the $4600 YC88 or Clavinova. In context of live, you wouldn’t hear it and the CK88 is the best model they sell for user interface/live performance in my opinion.

    • @bobaasmr9347

      I have the flagship YC in a 73. I regret not getting an 88. I don’t like the piano sounds at all, even through headphones. I think they may sound different on the 88 for some reason. Same samples can sound different through different interfaces. I like the look and concept of the kc88.

  • @marcusstrymon693
    @marcusstrymon693 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I mean I picked up a ck88 for 1100 almost new... Of course I would really enjoy me a YC for organs. But then I have the struggle between weighted and unweighted.... If I pick a 73, I have no weighted keys and need another keyboard... Seems kind of dumb not to go the yc88 route where you get those premium triple sensor hammers. But then If I chose the yc 88, Organ is kind of weired with weighted keys. Allthough you could easily solve this with a midi controller.
    But then I mean 2.8k Euros vs 1k? That is a fucking lot of money difference. Pays me 3 to 4 months of food

      Hi. The 73 action would certainly be better for organs and synths and that is ultimately why I bought the 73, however I am primarily a pianist and am very unhappy with the piano sounds. I don’t mind the action, it’s the actual sounds. I know this doesn’t make sense but I feel like it may sound different with the 88 action. I have played cp88s and am happy with the sound in that… and they are technically the same sound. Doesn’t make sense to me.

    • @marcusstrymon693
      @marcusstrymon693 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aaronmcdermott625 of course this makes sebse, if you are a piano player with advanced playing technique you would play the better action differently, get better articulation out thwm and feel of a player also transforma to sound. And of course the triple sensoes would change the sound as well i.e. if you dont fully lift your fingers off a key before strike.
      The sound engine itself is of course the same betaeen all the yc's and cp's

  •  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The CK does not sound as good as CP or YC, but it’s cheap … But I’ll stick with my CP and Nord Electro combo - better sounds, more versatible and propely made!
