    These ladies are from a town near me. They live in a town about 15 minutes away now. They didn't change. In fact they walk to Walmart, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and other shops every day to get things. They smell, and refuse help. It's sad to see their life be this bad. My father used to work with them at the local factory when he was younger, and they used to write him love notes lol. They have this "everyone is out to get me" attitude. Which isn't true, our community has offered help on multiple occasions, but they refuse it. Their new home, is already like the one shown here. I wish they'd accept the help. Their mother was the same way.😥

      The only way they can change is a very long, intensive cognitive behavioral therapy. Due to previous bad experiences, like trauma, loss or neglect, they try to compensate and their brains connects high emotional value to the items. Only years of therapy could help them create new pathways in their brains to basically reprogram them to make their disorder managable and keep their housing less hoarded. It's uncurable, like alcoholism, but can be managed and they can go "clean" to some degree, thus reducing hazards and spendings on things they don't need.

Granted these two sisters are not physically disabled but still I saw so much abuse going on where my dad was doing his rehab there's no way in hell I'd send someone to a nursing home or a place like that. I was glad for my dad to get done with his rehab and get the hell out of that place. My dad was there for antibiotics for bacterial infection. The bacteria was resistant to antibiotics and it took weeks to combat it. Insurance wouldn't pay for the antibiotics at home so we had no choice but to go to that facility.

    • @kaechan9590
      @kaechan9590 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a major reason so many are homeless actually. People lose their homes because they trashed them beyond habitability. They wont take care of themselves by civilized standards. Living in a landfill is their element. You should see the underpasses and easements of Seattle and San Francisco. They LIKE living in piles of sewage and garbage. Others spend thousands or volunteer to help them when they can't even recognize they have a problem, so naturally they relapse and immediately plunder a new garbage hoard. It's nearly impossible to have sympathy for them. I lost mine years ago, cause these same people could (and do) spread medieval diseases throughout a community, and couldn't care less. I only have sympathy for the homeless that just got down on their luck, but they don't stay on the streets long. The chronically homeless are hopeless cases for all kinds of reasons. These twins have literally become a biological threat to the community, and they're worried about book titles. Lock them away in an asylum until they learn, and if they never learn, well at least they're not on the streets spreading disease and mayhem.

Turns out they were using the house to store drugs and they were raided after a year. Our old neighbors sent us newspaper clippings about the raid and what was done to the house.
