Tony I can't tell you how much of an inspiration you've been for me throughout the years (and you're certainly right about the years flying by) I remember countless hours as a kid with my guitar, sitting in my bedroom rewinding cassette tapes over and over trying to figure out how the heck you were making those magical sounds. I could never get it quite right. I recognize now it wasn't just chords or the notes, it was your beautiful heart and soul. I'm just so grateful for you brother. The very second I heard that big open E in War Pigs (I was 14) I was enamored with your playing and have been now for nearly 40 years. It turned out that I was influenced so much by your playing that my natural style has a lot of Iommi flavor in it. Black Sabbath from that day has been the music that has gotten me through tough times and helped me enjoy the good times and all in between. The day I decided my wife was the one, was when she was cranking the Master of Reality album while making me breakfast at 6am one Sunday morning nearly 20 years ago. Tony is the biggest inspiration for my guitar playing and music for the past 28 years. I count every year as a blessing that tony keeps playing. I have owned many SG guitars over the years and currently have 6, I play Laney and orange amps but my go to when it comes to the awesome tone is the Laney ironheart same style as Tonys. The man is a riff lord, and if not for him many of the bands we have enjoyed over the decades and even currently may not be here now. I’m looking forward to 2022 to see what other riffs tony has stashed in his phone. Such a musical genius.

I turned 66 this year! In the early 70s i grew up in a really small town in missouri - only 300 people lived there- we would rent the community center and my friends had a band- we charged a dollar to get in- they played black sabbath songs- what fun and great memories- Thank You!!! ❤️

Thanks Tony. 40 years ago a friend brought one of his Dad's Sabbath records over to my house and we put it on the turntable. It was the most fabulous music I had ever heard and it changed my life! I went to the guitar store the very next day and bought a guitar & amp. First song I learned was Iron Man. Your cover of Warning and the extended solo on that song made me want to play lead guitar. I grew up with Tony Iommi and I can't thank him enough for the many many hours of enjoyment that he provided (and still provides) through his music. For me Tony is Black Sabbath, and he is my all time favorite musician. I was 15 in 1970 and Black Sabbath apparently will NEVER grow old for me. It is mind boggling to me that not only did Tony and Black Sabbath invent a new kind of music but that they are also the best. I love seeing youngsters on TH-cam being blown away by 50 year old Black Sabbath songs.

I grew up with Tony Iommi and I can't thank him enough for the many many hours of enjoyment that he provided (and still provides) through his music. For me Tony is Black Sabbath, and he is my all time favorite musician. I was 15 in 1970 and Black Sabbath apparently will NEVER grow old for me. It is mind boggling to me that not only did Tony and Black Sabbath invent a new kind of music but that they are also the best. I love seeing youngsters on TH-cam being blown away by 50 year old Black Sabbath songs.

Who doesn’t love Iommi such a quiet self effacing and warm character with his lovely West Midlands accent still evident . Has written and played such incredible stuff that I’ve listened to since I was a kid,those thunderous riffs have never been equalled .Yet he remained so matter of fact and humble about his illustrious career . Respect Tony may you go on forever.

Your music was the inspiration for me to start playing guitar 44 years ago, I still play and your music still hits my soul in places no one elses does.
I can't thank you enough for more than 50 years of riffs heavy enough to slow the rotation of the earth and keeping me alive to the real power of metal! I'm 58 now and your music...all of it , sounds as good now as it did when I was 14 and just picked up my first guitar.
