  • This video is a beginner's guide to Munich Germany Beer Gardens by an American. If you are planning to visit Munich Germany and want to experience some of the best beer gardens then this video is for you.
    I have been to Munich 7 times and wanted to make a guide to the Munich beer gardens for people who might be visiting the first time. While this is not a complete guide and many Germans might argue with my choices, I feel this list will give you a great feel for the beer garden culture.
    You cannot escape beer gardens when visiting Munich so you might as well know where some of the best ones are. In this video we show you 3D map locations of the beer gardens throughout Munich and then include pictures that I took myself while visiting. The video should give you a great feel for what to expect when visiting Munich beer gardens.
    Please list all the other wonderful beer gardens in the comments that you think should be on the list. Thanks for watching and traveling is one of those things that everybody should do if they can.

    You definitely hit the big four. Another big one is the Hirschgarten over by the Nymphenburg Castle. One of the joys of Munich is discovering the many smaller Biergartens.

    Hi Craig! I lived in Munich for several years when I was stationed there back in the middle 1980's. Ha ! I sure enjoyed the many Oktober fests that I attended. There are many fun places to drink beir around Munich for sure. My middle son was born just off the Oktoberfest grounds there in Munich and my oldest was born in Heidleberg.

      Thanks for sharing and watching. Munich is one of my favorite places to visit for sure. Bavaria, in general, is great and when you head into the mountains for the day it's very relaxing and beautiful. I hope you enjoyed the video and the best of luck in 2020.

      Pro trick: watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.

    Great video, I felt like watching it because I have visited Munich a number of times and this brought back fond memories. I went on a self-made beer garden tour in 2019 when I was there. Saw Metallica the same night at Olympiastadion.

      Thanks for watching and the nice comment. I have been there about 7 times and love it. It's my favorite city since it's really close to anything in Europe with great transportation. Can't wait to go back once the crazy virus is gone.

    Hello Craig! No need to be afraid people might beat you up. Those are definitely some of the best places to have a decent "Maß" which means measurement and means - of course - one litre. I'm beginning to look forward to our Biergarten season! But keep in mind, 4 Biergarten means at least 4 litres of beer. There won't be much sightseeing on that day.
    Viktualienmarkt is easy to pronounce: VIC like in "victor"; TU like number "2"; A like your letter "r"; LIEN like in "Alien"; MARKT like your "market", but you don't hear the "e".

      Thanks Stefan. Yes, I love hitting the beer gardens in Germany and also love the food. I just wanted to make a basic video on some of the more common gardens. 4 Liters might be hard but I think I have done it once or twice before. Maybe should not have. You need to spread it out. Thanks again for watching and for helping with the pronunciation of the market.

    After the market you said there's the church, that is the Old City Hall.

      There is a church there also as I have been in it but yes, there is the city Hall also near there. Thanks.

    You DO need to learn at least a bit of basic German! I can't recall how many times I've been to Munich and ALWAYS go to the Hofbraeuhaus (Hof-BROY-haus).

    How easy is it to order at these beer gardens if you don't speak much German?

    • @craigneidel
      @craigneidel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Super Easy, they almost all speak English etc. but they also have english menus.
