Dude, you are totally awesome!!! I am trying a rover. No takeoff. In the data screen, there is a "start-mission" and "perform action" button. That caused the rover to follow the planned route. It was great!!!!!
Thank you for this explanation. I'm now stuck trying to change the starting location of the simulation. Seems like it mocks the serial/tcp connection to the vehicle as well, so there has to be some way to tell the "vehicle" where it should be. I'll figure it out. I had a few general questions about your rover implementation if you had time, since I'm building a mower here soon. Can you detect unexpected engine off (out of fuel)? What actions do you take in that case? In my case the mower would still be able to move as the drivetrain is electric, it just wouldn't be mowing anymore. Do you rely on exclusion zones for obstacles, or have you found a reliable obstacle detection mechanism? Last I saw, you had tried a lidar solution that wasn't behaving as expected. Thank you for merging the poly feature, very helpful.
Pl make a video on mission continue after calling back to rtl, after swaping a battery in mid of mission, how it can continue from that recalled waypoint....
Excellent Yuri! Yes - I've wanted to throw the PC out the window. I can see now why. Thanks for the great "how to". BTW - you indicated on a forum that MP will not "avoid no-go zones" (think trees for a auto-mower). Is there some tool which can be used for that? (I'm otherwise writing / simulating path (mission) planning code in Matlab, translating (GPT) to Python, and running in RPi4). (with the u-blox 099 along with RTK-NTRIP cell phone hot spot). THANKS!
Update to latest beta (on the HELP tab). Make sure you are connected to the internet and there are no firewall restrictions against the ardupilot domain name.
@@ehbgoat write fast skips verification/readback. If you have a large mission, sometimes it’s best to write fast and then do a separate read to confirm it took.
I'm very new to this. Is this like a simulator? Like just practicing using the mission planner platform without having to buy to spend money on a UAV and pixhawk etc?
Yes, this is a simulator, but it is not made to replace the need of having a real drone. Even if you have a drone and make an update in the Ardopilot code you need to test the new modification (in this simulator) before making a real flight
Same here; excellent... when you are new to things, what looks mundane to the average user can be a challenge for a new user. E.g., as a new user try to figure out this arming problem --- no chance in hell :D
A huge thank you! Wasted 2 days before finding this straightforward video. Mission accomplished.

You made a video specifically for me!?!? THANK YOU!
If I’m honest, I made a video specifically for ME! So I can just point folks here instead of answering the same questions repeatedly 🙂

Anything experienced copter continuously drifting? or after takeoff starts to move by itself in some direction?
Suppose you build an ornithopter that flies with more than one motor in a non-standard way. Can I use Ardupilot? Or should I use other software?
Great video, with excellent humour!
Freedom units, are they the British ones or the redundant secondary ones? :)

I am receiving the error message "error: No response from MAV", I looked it up but I am not getting much help
Yuri,
is there something to communicate MP with a JetCat Jet engine ?
What a fucking fantastic video, thank you a ton for this! Didn't expect to be laughing my ass off while learning MP. got me good at the beginning
Dear sir, I cannot download any SITL images from my Mission Planner v1.3.81. Can you give me some hints to resolve this problem?

@@YurisHomebrewDIY I have done all these things except my os is windows 7 64b. May it be the cause?
@@dungtrananh1522 Maybe? An OS from this decade would probably help.
What is the write and writefast difference

HI . I want to ask for a lot of help

Wow. The first "MP for dummies" I've seen. I still haven't sorted it out. Trying a rover. It sill wants me to set altitude.
Very useful video. Thanks.
Don't think it's a bug. Just a safety feature.
great video, even though you decided to use freedom units...
❤
W video
LMAO, I got hung up on the the socialist mile conversion, I was doing great till the sq root of fuckall!
