Great video. Carry my rather large hiking knife sling style now every time I carry it……….and your right, it rides very comfortably and easily conforms to any seating or bending position without my need to physically move it out of the way, like when on my belt.

Well done sir. Seems simple but I never would have thought about it on my own. Thanks!

Here in the Philippines we carry our bolos / machetes exactly like that . 👍

I have the same knife and could not be happier with it.

Looks like it would work well for bigger knives especially.

Where did you get the add-on piece (that you run the cord through) for the kydex sheath? I looked at ESEE on-line and don't see it there. I can't find it on-line anywhere, I just see clip plates for sale. Thanks.

In this video I took the sheath that came with the Esee knife and I added a belt clip to it. I then ran some 550 Cord through it and I rigged it up to run a rope through it. There is a website you can click on called theknifeconnection.net that will have what you need. Once there, go to the Esee knives section and you can find a leather attachment that you’ll be able to put onto the sheath of the Esee knife to make it a work better and easier.

I have to say that you have an awesome site. I really enjoy the no-nonsense approach, professionalism and breadth of content. I have been wilderness backpacking for a long time and have learned some valuable lessons from you. So far, I like the perimeter alarm the best. Please keep it up!!

My large sheath knifes go into my backpack, I carry an ESSEE Izula around my neck that will handle most chores backpacking/camping if I need something bigger I'll most likely have already set up camp and the larger one will be unpacked already.

Great idea. This fits my style. What kind of not did you use for the sling carry?

Thank you, I used an overhand knot. A square knot will also work.

@@TheAmericanBackpacker Thanks, i guess I misspelled knot but this is very useful. I just ran out and bought some rope.

No worries, it is a great rig especially for large field knives.
