It's also worth noting that it's easy to use and linked to Google Classroom. I don't even mess with technologies that can't be linked to Google Classroom.
@@judyjo1600 I don't get your question buddy. Nobody else "teaches" my class other than myself and the technology that I use. What about your class? What do you do while someone else is teaching your class?
thanks for your work on this! I am in my specialist's program in instructional technology and am researching formative/summative assessments... thanks for making this accessible to a non-traditional teacher :)
I am just getting started....after reading some of the comments below I'm a bit confused. When I create a class, should I use Google Classroom or Add a new class? I signed up for the Basic free plan.
@@TubeTechie Thanks so much for the quick response. I looked again at the questions from about 2-3 weeks ago and the person who replied said NOT to use the Google Classroom option and NOT to import from Google because the students were being asked for a class code, which they didn't have. Maybe there was a bug there that has since been worked out? I just want to be as sure as I can that if I set this up with Google Classroom (which is my preference) my students will be able to access assignments. Due to distance learning, I don't have the option to have them try it out during a class period where I can see what will happen. I appreciate any further advice/reassurance, and your patience with my questions.
Thanks so much for this fantastic, informative video on how to use Edpuzzle. I was going to make my own video (Lon Po Po), but found several others that were already done. This was a huge timesaver.
Great video! Thank you. :) However, there is no class code appearing on the current version of Edpuzzle now. Do you have any update about this? Some students are being asked for this code by Edpuzzle before accessing the content I assigned them to do.
They will have to just use your link posted in google classroom. If they are inside google classroom they’ve already signed in, they may have to give it permission though.
I spoke with the CEO and he stated "it is 110% FERPA compliant" he also made me aware that his company has multiple departments dedicated to ensuring the student data is safe.
Thank you. There is a ton of content saved on the platform that other teachers already created. I recommend checking some of them out first before creating your own.
Joe, so you can use their videos or upload your own, there is a ton of content on Edpuzzle I’ve never wanted to create my own, and plenty of people have create questions for each video which saves you time! If you want to use your own you could upload to TH-cam and then search it on edpuzzle and start making questions. Hope this helps!!!
I have plenty of time to watch five million videos. Again, for lazy teachers who don’t want to research their class content. Johnny didn’t watch the video because he mistook it for a music video. This does not inspire students to think.
@@judyjo1600 You should watch all 5 million videos. Every video. You have to watch all of them to find just the right one. I hope you don't have plans for the weekend so you'll be able to watch all 5 million videos. Or, just search by subject. Or don't use this method at all.
That’s a lot more work but all you would need to do is create in and upload it to TH-cam, then search for your video add questions and assign it! If you need more explanation on the actual record software or cameras just let me know!
How do you choose which video to choose??????!!!!! Sit and watch dozens of videos all day???? Can you edit the video????????????? No. Can you delete parts of the video??????? No!!!!!
You use so many question marks. I think each extra question mark represents how angry you are at Edpuzzle. I used to be mad at Edpuzzle, but now I forgive it for everything it has done to hurt me.
They also don't know David Attenborough. This man put so much time into this video to teach us how to use this at a time when so many teachers are asked to teach remotely for the first time. Say "thank you" instead.
Again sorry, that you feel that way, not all teachers are bad or lazy, the good teachers (and there’s a lot) use it as support for what they are doing in the classroom or for distant learning purposes. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts about the program, I like to see different perspectives.
I'm going to try to get the videos to also do some of my other work, like mending socks and watering plants. (Only the tedious jobs will get outsourced to youtube!)
Hey, if you like Edpuzzle, then try out Flipgrid - th-cam.com/video/HzgqncUoHM0/w-d-xo.html
Ed puzzle is for lazy people who don’t want to do their own work.
Ed Puzzle is one of the greatest tools for teaching foreign language that I have seen in years. It's truly a great tool.
It really is a great tool!
It's also worth noting that it's easy to use and linked to Google Classroom. I don't even mess with technologies that can't be linked to Google Classroom.
And what are you doing while someone else is teaching your class?

This was so helpful. I had the edpuzzle site up and moved around it as you explained. Thank you!
You are very welcome!!!
Very well done! I just added your video to my training module. Thank you for this!

kacybishop you’re so welcome!!! I am so glad I can help.
Hello. Did you teach during the pandemic? Did you use EdPuzzle? Was it useful? Thanks for your time, this was a helpful video.
I did for a bit, and did use edpuzzle a few times, yes it was useful! You can do a lot with it to supplement your teaching.
Great tutorial. Very detailed step wise guide. Super helpful. Thank you!!
Thank you!!! Glad it helped!
Hello from Green Bay, Wi. I really liked your video. Question: did I hear you say you can link Edpuzzle to Google classroom? Thank you.
Yes! You can.
I am just getting started....after reading some of the comments below I'm a bit confused. When I create a class, should I use Google Classroom or Add a new class? I signed up for the Basic free plan.
I used Google classroom and it made it really easy! No codes to hand out! Just post assignments directly to GC from Edpuzzle!

This was very helpful! It was easy to follow and understand.
Thank you and I’m glad it easy to understand!!!
Thank you for getting me started!
No problem hopefully it will facilitate your teaching well!!!
Thanks for this! Learning how to use this for my SPED students who need more engagement.
No problem!!! Good luck!
They are not engaged; they’re entertained.
Thank you! I appreciate your quick reply.
You are most certainly welcome!!!

When you create a class the class code is on the students tab! Good luck if you have more questions just ask in the comments!
I have a question...can I add these questions and features to videos that I have made with screencastify? Thanks
Yes but you’ll have to Upload the video. I’ve always uploaded to TH-cam then searched it and added questions.
My school is using Canvas... is this edpuzzle compatible with Canvas?
Yes it should work with canvas!
Do my students have to signup for Edpuzzle if I am linking my Edpuzzle account with my Google Classroom accounts?
They will have to just use your link posted in google classroom. If they are inside google classroom they’ve already signed in, they may have to give it permission though.
What about the collection of student data? Are they FERPA compliant? Should I worry about student emails?
Eric Inboden That’s a very good question, I’ll have to ask around. Thanks!

APUSH Price for sure I completely agree!!!
very helpful for this dinosaur
Glad I was able to help!!! Goos luck!
Can I use my own video lectures in EDpuzzle or do I have to use existing videos from their library?

@@TubeTechie That's exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks!
No problem!!! Good luck with all that!
Great! I can let someone else my work for me and still pick up a pay check!
How do you add students without a google classroom
You add them with the invite button individually, if I can remember correctly.
Can I join to many different video in one video with edupuzzle
No, you’d have to do that outside of Edpuzzle then upload it
What if one teacher on my team uses for science now I want to use for math do they have to make new logins or no
You should be able to share no problem, it will just have both types of videos! But classes can be kept different
Can my students also cut and revoice the video? Or only the teacher can have these tools.
No only teachers!
AMAZING content, keep up the amazing content
Thank you, I really appreciate it!!!
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Does edpuzzle have full access to my email account when I join?
Dilcia Perez no they can’t access your email account.
@@TubeTechie Wow! fast response. Thank you!
No problem good luck! I met with the CEO and he assured me that they take privacy seriously.
Is there a way to show how much time was spent watching a video if there are no embedded questions?
That’s a good question, I’m not sure.
Furthermore, Who has time to sit around all day and watch all these videos?
Well it’s meant to take content you have watched or had time to watch and assign it to be viewed by your students.
Making more work for the teacher.
You must set aside a few hours to watch all the videos.
Just turn on the television and entertain them all day. Yeah, that’s education!!!!
You find specific short content to help reinforce
Specific, short content? From 5,000,000 videos? Absolutely!!
I have plenty of time to watch five million videos. Again, for lazy teachers who don’t want to research their class content. Johnny didn’t watch the video because he mistook it for a music video. This does not inspire students to think.

When my classes are linked through Google Classroom, how do they see the comments I made when I graded their video work?
Edith Damron all the data will still be stored on Edpuzzle, just go to your class on there.
What about creating an original video?
That’s a lot more work but all you would need to do is create in and upload it to TH-cam, then search for your video add questions and assign it! If you need more explanation on the actual record software or cameras just let me know!
Give me five reasons why I can’t skip forward on videos
Um, I don’t have five...just one...the video is set to no skipping!!! Lol
Up the speed to 2x - that'll help :)
I want to make my own videos. Copyright issues are serious. Where are these videos coming from? These videos are not tailored for my classes.
The videos come from other creators and you can create your own and upload it.
They are hosted in various places like TH-cam and other video sites.
They’re NOT my videos. I don’t Consider sitting around all day in the classroom watching videos is teaching this is not encouraging children to think
I have found some excellent All-Day videos. They run all day and allow teachers to nap or get haircuts.
The people in these videos are not the teacher, I am. My students do not know who these people are.
They also don't know David Attenborough. This man put so much time into this video to teach us how to use this at a time when so many teachers are asked to teach remotely for the first time. Say "thank you" instead.
I appreciate the kind words!
Questions should not have to be asked if the instructions were clear to begin with!
What do you mean?
For teachers who don’t know content material that they’re being paid to teach. Sure, let somebody else do your work.
Again sorry, that you feel that way, not all teachers are bad or lazy, the good teachers (and there’s a lot) use it as support for what they are doing in the classroom or for distant learning purposes. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts about the program, I like to see different perspectives.

Why aren’t these instructions clear by themselves??? No where to ask questions or get answers. Worthless.
You have a crabby attitude. Are you in Edpuzzle jail? Is this mandated by the government for you to use it?
