For an 1840's house I liked it. You can tell it had been added onto. A lot of book cases and if I had to walk through the closet to get to that bedroom I'd build in those closet units as wardrobes to make it a little more pleasing. I would also have someone come in and restore all the tile work around the fireplaces and add natural gas logs where I could. So much potential for sure. Thanks for the tour.
Beautiful and quirky older home! I hope the buyer respects the home's age and quirks and doesn't destroy it with an open floor plan. Please don't try to force it to be something that it's not.
It is painfully obvious that this home has been stripped of its 1840s charm in favor of a more modern interior. There is virtually nothing left that signifies this was once a home of long time life in history. The selling point of this home is not its age but it's renovation.
@@CPAndy-x5x First off, can I steal “wreckovate”?! 😂 Yes, the tile is Mercer and was used beautifully in this house. I also think the fox chasing the hare tile work was really special.

Some of the house was nice but too many unfinished storage spaces and closets were very small. Weird layout, too closed in. I’d open up some of the walls to make it more open and light.
Thanks for sharing! Yes, I agree with you about the layout. When a house is 185 years old it can be a real puzzle to create spaces that suit our present day needs.
Interesting home. You have to love old homes to live in a house that’s different than modern houses of today. I grew up in my ancestors house that was built in 1880. I was surrounded by antiques up stairs and down stairs. I wanted to ask is this house haunted because my childhood home was 🤔
@@claudiaminorhall3257 I LOVE this house WITH its ROOMS. MY Great Aunt had a home in the South 3 story with BACK STAIRS. My other relative had a 1 story house on pillars, with an OUT HOUSE.We had a 1 story home with 2 BR,1 bath, up the street from another Aunt with the same. Our home in later years was a 3 story with: a stone & brick outside, large covered porch,2 door front. We had an entrance hall, waiting room,a nook under the stairs that had a phone( that the owners put a half bath)large LR,DR & a brick fireplace that I put about 3 coats of White paint .My Mother did take down the door in the center of the kitchen, put in ANDERSEN WINDOWS way back then. She took down about 6 inch walls and made it into a galley kitchen. She opened up the wall & had a pass through to the DR( which the now owners have covered up),(WHY?) We had a sun room next to the kitchen. We had an attic which we would go up & live instead of heating the whole house. My BR was plumbed for a tub, shower combo, toilet & sink way back in the early 1970's.I NEVER got to see it finished, but I would HOPE the new owners kept it. It had no closet, but it could be a guest room We had a 2 entrance walk out basement with a large sunken room,it was the ONLY room that was boxed in the rest was open. There was another half bath.I REALLY hate the fact we no longer have it,but I'm happy to be where I am.
It's a mess of colonial, Victorian, and outdated mid-century modern. I would be a challenge but fun to untangle all that and take it back to its original charm and beauty.
Love this home such a cozy warm feeling just looking at it wow so amazing can’t find the word to describe it tranquility
I love this old house. I don't like open floor plans. Those rooms are beautiful. The house has so much character . 🥰👍
@@patwillis1893 I think it’s pretty special. I hope it sold to someone who loves it as much as you and I!

So much character! Love it
So beautiful.
This area is one the richest areas in the country outside of Philadelphia
Beautiful house, I would sooo live there
This house has character
@@brooklyn5streetsmart It was nice that the older windows were still intact and looked so beautiful from the outside with the “wavy” old glass.
I love this house when can I move in❤❤❤
Love the Arts & Crafts (Mercer?) tile under window and around fireplaces. The bathrooms with vintage tile - I hope the next owner doesn't wreckovate.

I like this home would not mind living there
you need a camera stabaliser, also start your tour from further out so i can see the house in the video not just the thumbnail.

Whoever did the staging of that house understand the neighborhood
The ceilings seem very low in the house
@@tinatito6273 yes much lower. It was originally a carriage house.
I would furnish a 19th century.Ala lot of the furniture doesn't fit this house

Did the Real Estate Company furnish the house so people would think it was lived in?
@@tinatito6273 The owners had recently moved out and I believe it got a little “staging” done
Front door opens to bathroom? Otherwise a cool old house. Need a more professional photographer and get rid of those shoes!!
