Almost 20 years ago I took my family to the pound for a new dog. There were 2 puppies all black they said were Black Labs. I had my doubts but my wife and kids fell in love with one of these pups. As he grew it was obvious he was a “pit bull” and not a lab. He was extremely loving and gentle. One night when he was about 1yr my wife took Arthur in the front yard to potty. Out of Nowhere another pitty Attacked him. Even after I got them apart my wife kept going after the other owner yelling. Arthur was growling and barking but he kept backing my wife up by staying in front of her and in between the other dog. After that I had no doubts pitties get a bad rap. We’ve had 4 now and I’ll never own another breed.
Yeh the black and white one in my profile pic is louie, so protective without any training. We always called him the mummys boy ,he not only was more protective of me but as my daughter grew he was the same with her.He passed in January this year,im crying now just commenting here,im telling you all though once you have one and connect with them you won't want any other breed,they are the best out there,no one will ever change my mind

The fact is, any large dog has the potential to be dangerous. I would never trust a dog to be left unsupervised with a small child. There is always a risk, even if it be a small one
I would trust my pits with any baby.

Well I have to disgree I would leave mine alone with my children when the where younger and never had to worry. I worried more avout people gurting my children than my pittie
I would leave a baby alone with a Golden Retriever. They are so even tempered and so loving. You would literally have to brutalize a golden to make them mean. They are great great dogs. Brave and smart.
All "dangerous" breeds i have met have actually been adorable. It's almost all the time the people who have made mistakes with their furry friends. All those dogs that have bitten me have been dogs you never thougt they would bite.
I’ve owned an American pit bull terrier, and just got an American bully XL. The main difference is there prey drive. My bully loves kittens and smaller dogs. The pit bull loved chasing them. Also my bully seems to make friends easier than my pit bull did.

Blows my mind they are banning Bullies. I breed them. They're so chill, low energy, low prey drive, very docile in nature. Take very little socializing them for them to be super friendly towards people and other animals. I've had pits too in the past and they take more work to be friendly towards animals. Not much work to be friendly towards people. But they're higher energy, naturally high prey drive.

I got my 1st pits in 1999. She was amazing. I live in a Detroit suburb.. my neighborhood didn't have any pits. I laughed taking her on walks. Ppl saw me coming and either turned around or skipped to the other side of the street

I’ve had a several Pit Bulls & currently I have a Bully. My Bully is smaller & bulkier than any of my Pit Bulls. They’re all great dogs with each having their own unique personalities, but they’re all loving, easy to train, great with kids & the elderly plus protective. With that being said, the only ones who should ever fear these fur babies are those who mean harm.

In my humble opinion American bullies are the greatest dog breed of all time. I've had several throughout my 50 years of life. I currently own two Blue American Bully XL one female and one male they've been selectively bred specifically for nanny dogs. They are the most loyal, loving, fun, and entertaining things I've ever owned or actually I think they own me. Great share brother, thank you.

i hope you TH-cam deaths in US by these dogs, this includes owners who raised them from puppies. A girl in UK just been killed by her two pits that she raised so take heed and beware. A small dog will give you a small bite a pit will go for your throat or if you are a child or baby it will bite the scull
That opinion is ridiculous, and that kind of lie is dangerous. All dogs who have sufficient strength to cause serious harm have dangers associated with them. Don't fear them, but respect them.

I’ve owned nothing but Bully dog .. Staffies, English Bulldogs, American Pit Bulls.. These breeds are simply the best.. They are loyal, smart, and affectionate .. My Pit Bull wasn’t a great watch dog but was aggressive towards other animals. All these dogs want to do is please you.But to answer your question, no they are not the same for the reasons you stated.

Thank you for a very informative, well done video. You really educated me on points I wasn’t aware of and confirmed some of the misinformation out there. We have a Staffy coming to us in a few more weeks and the more we learned about them, the more we realized how much we wanted one as part of the family. We’ve had two English bulldogs in the past and love the bully breeds, just wanted something more athletic and a little smaller in size.

Thank you for putting the time in to make this video, I have a American pit bull terrier and she has issues with aggression that I am addressing but I will say this, you will never find a more loyal and devoted dog than a American pit bull terrier.
This is possibly true
Hopefully the aggression issues are coming along nicely. If not Check to see if this is caused by a need to overprotect, or a need to exert her dominance. There are several methods of correction for both types of behavior. Best of Luck

I had it backwards for many years. I thought amstaffs were pits and visa versa. Knowing that there so many variations of each is a great help when it comes to evaluating what traits are most desirable.
My dogs identical to the one at 12:25 his names buster his 12, a red nose and his the icon in our family. He's grown up with dozens of children and words cant express what this dog means to me. I weighed him yesterday his still over 35kg my biggest fear in life is the day he leaves me.❤🙏🏻

My Brigit was a boxer pit plott who I trained to be a visiting therapy dog. She was 2.5 when I adopted her after two+ years of maltreatment. Over the course of 8.5 years she was known by many hundreds of people and was respected and admired for her very good social behavior. She figured out how to make funny faces that made people laugh. At a nearby WM store she was considered a role model of how a service dog should behave. Sadly, she is gone now to her home in Heaven where she waits for me to be with her there. I miss her so very much and will always love her.
Thank you so much for and excellent video about what good dogs Pits and Bully breeds are. Michael Vick did so much to give them a bad rap. But as we all know so full well, it is how you train and teach them that makes all the difference between good and bad.

Thank you for sharing this and sorry for your loss. My ptsd service dog is a Pit/ Boxer mix and I got him as a rescue at 2 and half and he is now about 9. He was pretty rough , scarred up and some teeth missing when he was rescued. He doesn’t get along too well with other dogs but is great with people and is such a loyal and wonderful part of our family . He also is so loving and protective to all our kids and takes on the role as a nanny dog.

Yes they all are the same Staff ,pit bull,bully , Bull dog,,a lil of this a lil bit of that ,their all from the same origins just like humans they come in all colors and sizes the crossing of different bloodlines act on the way they are trained ,raised,treated ,I've bred pitbulls for years ,just like people you get big boned thick big heads and sometimes you get skinny thin small boned small heads, it all depends on the breeding ,and purpose for show or for performance their all the same and are the best in my opinion 💯very loyal and dependable breed

In my opinion these pocket bullly breeds are ruining our breed with these dogs that cant breathe properly, swim,defend themselves and live short life's. Some bullys really do favor an oversized apbt or amstaff tho. It may not be the breed standard but with all the crossing in there bloodline it can happen. Me personally I like the amstaff look but on a 100lb dog instead of a 60lb dog. And those are the features I want to create

From everything I’ve researched about various breeds. This helps makes sense of the distinct breeds. Their basically somewhat distant cousins. Bullies having more well, BULL in them than Terrier
I have 2 American Staffordshires. One is 13 other is 6yrs old. Both are big babies and only want to cuddle. I have no doubts if intruder enters its gonna be a bad day for them though...

When The English Staff ( England) and the Irish Dog known as the Old Family ( Ireland) were imported to America . Those dogs were bred together to create the Pit Bull and Chauncey Bennett ( UkC) register them as the American Pit Bull Terrier in 1898
Those mutts owned by those celebrities are not the APBT

Interesting video, but I don't think that you ever really addressed the more critical issues involving differences in temperament, which may lead to a lot of other unanswered questions as to how a potential owner can
distinguish between lines when the breeding practices are such that the physical distinctions aren't so obvious.

I'm a dobie person my dobie Raised my bully......she died.....he was lost for a couple months.....got hyper protective....now 6 months later he's still just a GOOD Boy.
