I cook my 7 dogs food. Ground turkey, brown rice, sweet potatoes, carrots pees, green bean or broccoli, turmeric and coconut oil.
FYI, lots of issues currently with Diamond, which also owns Taste of the Wild, and produces Kirkland brand, all having issues making dogs sick starting in November 23. Be careful and pay attention to your pets (cat food involved too). If they don’t want to eat it, something’s probably wrong, don’t doctor it up.
Purina, Hill's Science Diet, Royal Canin, Blue Buffalo, and a couple of others on this video are also on the list.
They are not wrong, my dog has been having stomach issues now from eating Kirkland and Purina Pro canned food, don’t trust these big companies, I would probably go with the Nutri Source maybe or see what the best options are for raw food

Seems like good ol’ table-scraps are still the safest, cheapest, tastiest and easiest meals for our four-legged family members. Definitely, makes them the happiest as well.

@@adjustedfate Dogs were not made to eat all the salt and sugar that's in our food. You really should rethink how your feeding them. I used to not not better but I learned the hard way.
Dogs lived up in their 20s before they started feeding dog food. It's full of preservatives since it has to have a long shelf life. Also, dog food has alot in it that's not good for them. It's probably best to make your own dog food.

One of the most important things is to make sure your matching your dogs food to its size!and the dogs needs..like GSD’s have hip issues so you want to make sure the calcium and phosphorus are matched to feed your dogs hips and bone growth properly..

I would love for your opinion. I spoke with a guy that said he was a retired animal nutritionist. He said you CAN NOT trust the "protein" on the bag with knowing what the protein was because it may not be the type of protein your dog needs. He said IAMS had the best food. That struck a cord because I was actually working for a company that made a "PROTEIN " additive for livestock feed. Honest to God all we used recalled and out of date ingredients from the grocery stores and bakeries that DOES NOT have meat in it or come in a can. I'm talking bread, donuts, muffins, pop tarts, cereal, cookies, potato chips, etc. At times, even mixed in wheat. Ground it all together and dried it and ground to a powder. That was the "protein additive" that went into the livestock feed.

4health Salmon and Potato for my boy. Its every bit as good as taste of the wild if not better without taste of the wild price tag. If I fed him any of those you just reviewed he wouldn't have any hair and would be miserable with diarrhea. Love the content. Keeping it real. 💯👍

Maybe I will have to look into that brand. Taste of the wild imo is one of the best dog kibbles there is (just basing that off the ingredients and the results ive had with it) but your saying the ingredients are similar to 4 health?? Just costs less?
@@derekhall378 Yes I used to feed the same thing in taste of wild and compared ingredients to 4health n it's basically the same thing they like it just as well n don't have issues with skin allergies n diarrhea I switched straight up without doing it gradually n they didn't skip a beat no diarrhea no hair loss
@@bridgeth.9594 I've never had any issues with allergies but it is $50 for 28 lb and I have two dogs to feed so I will definitely look into it. Even doing 50/50 raw to kibble it still goes quick

My Gsd was raised on Victor. 6 mo ago she refused to eat it 3 days straight. 😢 put her on home made vet dog food recipe. Haven't looked back. She's happy, healthy and full of energy.
Same. First Victor made my cats sick, then the dogs started having problems. Nope.

Theres a lot of people like me that are looking for the best quality kibble for the lowest price as a filler. I feed raw but i still add a cup of kibble and i would feel alot better knowing that the kibble is a good quality and not something that will get my dog sick

I give my dog half of the suggestion as far as kibble goes and balanced the rest with whole foods and grains all my dogs protein source comes from whole foods chicken Beef and Tuna i give him two cans of tuna weekly all boiled and added to his kibble
I just wanted to comment real quick. I had a VERY bad experience with grain free dog food my 2 Boxers (was feeding both the same food) the dogs were unrelated BOTH of my dogs died within 6 months of each other of dilated cardiomyopathy I am 100% sure the dog food was the cause. This type of cardiomyopathy causes death really quickly doesn’t matter what kind of care and meds you give. Taurine added to the diet doesn’t make grain free safe at all. If peas or legumes of any type are in the first five ingredients you want to avoid that food grain free or containing grain. One of the other things to consider is how many recalls that particular food has had.
My best dog food kibble is Canine X Beef Flavor (26%protein, 24% fat) along with raw food.

Been feeding my male standard poodle raw chicken with ground beef every now and then for 7 years. Hes 8 years old.
He started throwing up blood.
I changed to cooking the ground chicken with cooked carrots and sewwr potatoes..
The vomiting stopled for a month but has returned.
I supplement with fish oils and we go on regular walks with the occasional run.

I've tried the blue bag of Victor. It gave my dogs the 💩💩. Even after slowly weaning off the old bag of kibble. Fed my wild chickens that bag. My Frenchies love whole hearted. But I used beef or salmon. ***NOTED Petco has an online price compare. So some kibble are $10-20 sometimes $30 cheaper than what's on the shelf. As well as everything else.

I was going to use bully max But they protein is low in the fat is extremely high, my personal opinion that’s the only reason dogs swell up because of the high fat content. Reminds me of the old brand called Ekanuba
My problem is blue buffalo high-protein has chicken and I’m starting to feel that my bully is allergic to chicken because I’m noticing hives so I’m actually not looking for another brand but I’ll tell you what I haven’t been able to find another brand that has the same source of ingredients The first four ingredients is actual meat
Very informative video. The price of dog food has gotten just outrageous, especially with inflation and I have had it! I just pulled my dogs off kibble and am doing chicken thighs, chicken gizzards and liver, ground beef and ground turkey and we have chickens so I always have fresh, free range eggs available if my sister and mom haven't taken them all LOL 😂. But so far so good, it's been two weeks, the hardest part is all the cooking, I have to force myself to do it sometimes, I work too so gotta get the kids on board, my daughter made their food a couple times. I am usually adding coconut oil to their meal and recently brewer's yeast. So can't wait to watch more, isn't it just terrible like really it makes me angry that these dog food or animal food companies do this, try to sell awful crap and make you pay out the ying yang 😤😡 ugh

Would love to see you do some of the fresh raw food ,and one I use to beef all my puppies up to 1 year old is bill jack only found in the frozen food section, my next dog is either a malinoise or a borbol ,I plan on doing a raw diet with them ,I noticed dry food is causing cancer in alot of dogs ,so I only buy made in the usa or from England, not China or Japan imo and observation

Orijen is great at marketing. Look up Champion foods who makes Orijen. They’ve had the most dog deaths caused by DCM.

I think if you would’ve looked at the Diamond Naturals Chicken & Rice All Life Stages formula, the review would’ve been different. 26/16 protein/fat and real chicken is the first ingredient

I tried my bully on everything out since I had him, he was picky when he was little, I had linked up with a old school American pit bull breeder and he told me to try Bil-jac, and when I did my dog loved
I like this guy while I'm not totally sold on raw feeding due to the accomodations that's comes with it meaning space time etcetera that being said. I feed my dog 50/50 whole foods based kibble diet example 1/2 cup kibble 5 ounces of boiled chicken thigh,3ounces of boiled beef one raw 3 ounces of tuna egg. Also all my dogs treats besides the femur bones bully sticks and greenies is fresh yams, broccoli, green beans peanut butter beets apples so my dog eats well plus multivitamin every other day
I give my dog much whole foods as possible and dairy products three times weekly like an ounce of real cheese. I never feed my dog for bulking I feed my dog for nutrients it's a working dog he eats more than a lap dog because he need it buty dog looks like a ufc fighter most of these bullies look like body builders on steroids. My dog will run circles around most bullies

I have been pondering if the chicken component has crickets and worms in it, like they are adding to chicken from the fast food restaurants.
My dog acts allergic to chicken flavored dog food, but seems okay for the chicken off my plate.
I have been feeding Raw for 20 years. Within the last three years all I hear is about how my dog is allergic to chicken, my dog is allergic to chicken. It is always kibble. You don’t know what your dog is allergic to when you’re feeding them kibble. Get your dog on a raw diet if you can. Avoid chicken for a while if you want to. But you may find out that after a few months on Raw your dog can eat chicken just fine. In fact, if your dog can eat raw chicken now go for it. There’s so much extra crap in kibble that kind of allergy test or suspicion is absolutely worthless.

In an older video you recommend 24/20 for puppies and in this video you said 30/20 puppy bag was the best kibble? Did your low protein opinion for puppies change? Also wouldn't 4health strive be the best bang for your buck? If it's 60 for 45lb bag vs 55 for 30lb bag of whole hearted dog food?
Protein thoughts have not changed. I chose best bag based on ingredients.

You’re right because my dog cannot have chicken chicken fried or nothing but he can’t have cow. He can’t have fish, salmon, gator, and stuff like that but nothing on two legs basically I found that out with my puppy. Can I have it soft pool and everything now I still ask you about, the how to do with the feeding now my boy is seven years old and I cannot give him raw because he will not accept it😮
We just took in a stray lab who's health was really bad. I'm feeding her Open Farm grain free it's $90 for a 22lb bag 😳 But they do use human grade ingredients instead of feed grade like a lot do. The down side is one the proteins are meal and they put peas in it. I don't get why at this price they do that. With her food I'm adding probiotics, hempseed oil and apple cider vinegar and her health is getting much better. I wouldn't feed a dead dog Science Diet or Royal Canine, how do people fall their scam?

Bully Max is my favorite so far in 2024.
The product picked to represent Hill's isn't fair. The light line was picked that has purposely reduced fat for weight loss.
CanineX would of been a good one to review the ingredients. Last time I checked it started out good and under 60. That what my dogs love and poop and everything is good. Fur is shiny (I feed raw here and there as rewards which I think help)
