I understand... the lanterns are hanging from spare hooks on the curtain rail... actually this window originally had double curtains we removed the thicker curtain and use those hooks for the lanterns and air plant terrariums
I would love to make this kind of wall with one slight change.. Instead of placing square shelves aside TV.. I would have kept the decor directly on the cabinet.. square shelves are making the look crowded

They are called Marble Mosaic Tiles, you can try asking for it at your local tile shop, they are for standard usage in construction, I purchased it from a local tile shop here in Singapore :)

We removed the double curtain that was there as we prefer the light streaming in and used those hooks in the curtain rack to hang the lanterns... you can get similar tiles from any local tile shop, we got it from a tile shop- An Huat in Singapore.
Haahha, I don't, it often gets into a mess, but when I clean I go crazy for half a day! The only thing I feel helps is having less stuff around the house and because I do so many DIYs it means I buy very little to keep that balance going :)
Wood should go well or you can try metal in contrast black or even gold/brass accents... in terms of art you can look for colours such as nature inspired ... you can always try visualizing it on paper as a sketch or online before you make a purchase if unsure!
Any regular tile shop where you get tiles for flooring and bathroom should be able to help you with it, you can show them a picture...we got it at a regular construction tile shop here in Singapore :)
