Really informative video. Excellent work! Just completed mine. One tip I found was to remove the top half of the fan shroud. It has 4 clips and 2 bolts. This makes the crank shaft and alternator bolts easily available to turn. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

Did you prime up the truck before you started it up or did you just turn over the key and start it?

Hey man, great work. I just did this to my 2006 silverado, but I'm getting smoke at start up. Looks like I screwed up getting the gasket to seat properly. My angle gauge broke too, so I was guessing at the TTY on the bolts on the p. side head before I remembered sharpies exist and you can just mark the bolt. I was pretty nervous about scoring the deck, so I think I under cleaned it. I noticed your block has a solid sheen to it before you mated the new gaskets. What did you do to dress the block?
    Thanks man.

I would check to make sure you have the timing of the valves right. Making sure you're TDC on the compression stroke or powerstroke based on whatever sequence you are using. As far as dressing the block I cleaned it very well and went over it with a brass wire brush and scotch Brite pad.

normally i get mine at rock auto, or you can do the deep dive for the good ol LS3 head swap and go summit racing. there is a price difference between the two rock auto is going to charge just slightly less.
