So much magic smoke is needed to make a record player work but evidently fire is needed to make a massage pillow work. Amazing the game boy took nearly 10volts but the screen went crazy long before the CPU eventually died

but the CPU broke higher that voltage

@@pawlobogdan32 probably the heat from the CPU cooked the liquid crystals or the backlight LED was overdriven and got hot. Blackening happens when LCD displays get warm.

But it is too glitchy and can catch fire
Most things can catch fire when you apply 300 volts 😅 it's rated for 12 volts and was running great at that voltage and can probably be pushed far beyond that in short periods without issues

Some vintage electrical items can be repaired. When overvolting animatronic things, I think that it should only be done if the thing can be repaired, such as for example Gemmy novelties.
