I have an earlier version of that Uno launcher that is purely mechanical. It had a large cam inside that was advanced by one step each time the button was pressed. Teeth on the cam, which pressed a microswitch, determined whether cards would be launched and how many (the motor also advanced the cam one step for each card that was launched). Being purely mechanical, it was completely deterministic and not random at all (despite the instructions describing it that way), but I imagine the cam inside having so many steps meant that the sequence was long enough that most people probably wouldn't memorize it unless they intentionally did.
Kids who don't get presents for christmas and are poor families would kill to get this stuff. Shameful you trash these! Could be vintage or antique! I would have taken the uno!!!
