    I can’t understand why the viewer metrics for this channel are still so criminally low. I’m not smart enough to understand how YT algorithms work but common sense tells me this guy should be killing it. I’ll keep watching and liking and I hope a bunch more people discover this gem.

    Another vote for a Department of Boost manifold kit and your choice of positive displacement blower. The combination of such a fat torque curve and AWD will be amazing.

    Depending on how and when you want the power coming on, take some time looking at the boost curves between centrifical and rotary screws. Also the centrifical can be routed to an inter cooler much easier and I would definitely recommend as big an inter cooler as you can fit. Also find much bigger injectors and a tuning map to match the much different airflow. These recommendations are based on hard learned lessons! Also I’m talking about doubling power at the least. I have little experience with low boost applications.

    Go supercharger and get a Department of Boost manifold and a Titanic heat exchanger! You will have much better clearance around everywhere! I had a turbo on my Mustang and fitting all the pipes in was a pain in the ***. The DOB manifold will also allow you to use all sorts of superchargers so you just swap that and you can bump power in no time.

    Amazing project and talent! Love the sharing of all the painful learning too.
    However my reason for commenting was because I have to rely on the subtitles provided by TH-cam as I am hard or hearing. And, as I was reading what you were saying about the need to calibrate the flywheel I kept seeing that you had never tried a "foreskin" and repeated references to you using (your) "foreskin". Once I could breathe again, from fits of laughter, I realised you were in fact saying "Forescan"!

    I have a theory about the torque limiting function for clutch protection. The engine software may be looking at parameters like vehicle speed, engine rpm, driveshaft rpm, calculated crank torque, gear ratio, etc. to determine whether or not there is a possibility of driving through the stock clutch and damaging the friction material. I had a 2013 GT500 and if you were in the wrong gear and floored it on the highway around peak torque rpm it would "drive thru the clutch" and if you did it too long/often you could smell it. The trinity motor was a beast and the stock clutch was undersized in my opinion. Maybe the software has been improved since 2013 to err on the side of reliability?

    • @npvg
      @npvg  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be, there are values for maximum torque in each gear, etc in the tune. I am sure it can be fixed beside just turning it off. Thanks for the feedback.

  • @fordmooreperformance8079

    Centri or turbo raise the redline to 8k. If you decide to get it tuned I use Lund Racing and the Ngauge. I can help you with getting a good Ngauge. They're not manufactured anymore. Power by the Hour would be very interested in your build. I get a lot of parts through them and buy my Lund Racing tune through them. Christian Papa is my sales guy.

    I have been following your videos on this build. Nice Work! I really want to see how you package the front differential into the Mustang. I am interested to see how to package the front diff and if you needed to cut into the oil pan... Also interested to see what frame mods that you had to do to get the stance correct with maintaining the required geometry. I have a '55 F250 that I will be putting in a Coyote and a 10 Speed auto from a 2020 Mustang. I plan to make it AWD too, however I am unclear if it will package with the other mods that I am doing.
    BTW, regarding the clutch protection algorithm... the software compares the engine rpm to the output shaft rpm (times the gear ratio) to determine clutch slip (when the clutch pedal is not pressed). If the clutch slip is too high, then it goes into protection mode.

    • @npvg
      @npvg  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I must be getting OSS/VSS errors to cause the clutch protection issue. I am sure I can fix it.
      As far as the oil pan goes, the diff will bolt to the oil pan and the driver's side jack shaft will go through the pan. I will getting into that soon. Current plan is front spindle then front crossmember, then oil pan, etc.
      Your project sound cool and my guess is that you could run a separate diff below the engine in a truck depending how low you go.

    I recently owned a 2006 Mazda 6, southern car. Everything on it was pristine pretty much except the exhaust and the brake rotors. I think when you hit those hot parts with water it must do a number on them. Sadly I wrecked that car after I got it dialed in. Wasn't doing any shenanigans either, just driving in heavy traffic and didn't see someone coming. Anyway, my Flex, which was a SoCal car its whole life, had zero exhaust or brake rust (other than surface) until I moved here to the south, so I think that's it. It's gotta be the moisture on the hot parts.

    It's really hard to deny the performance a Whipple supercharger would add to this. The downsides I see are parasitic drag and fuel economy. I don't think that transfer case would really handle much more than a Whipple could offer. Then again, the Whipple might offer too much torque and in the wrong places. I can only imagine the horror you'd have to go through to get turbos to fit under that hood.

    • @npvg
      @npvg  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My current daily is an supercharged S4 and that has really started to change my mind on supercharger vs turbo. There is no question a turbo would make more power, especially on pump gas, but the instant response of the blower is addicting in my S4.
