I'm a devout Christian, he was raised in church, we were there every time the doors opened. Then my son came out after college & having a girlfriend all through college. She got him to sit down on the beach & she hugged him & told him whatever he was going through was not worth killing himself for & she listened for an hour him telling her his story. She asked him could she pray for him & she did. She told him she knew he had a mother out there who loved him & what his death would do to me. She told him to go get counseling as soon as possible & he did. I look forward to a day when it’s not a “gay wedding,” and it’s just a wedding. I’m gay myself and spent years in the closet, terrified of coming out. I thought I’d spend my life in that closet and marry a women and never find happiness. At 17 I finally decided to come out, and the amount of love and support I received was insurmountable. I look forward to a future where kids can love who they love and not even have to come out as gay, because that truly is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I want kids to be able to come home with someone of the same sex and have nothing but love and support. I hope to have kids myself one day and by that time if they are gay they don’t have to tel us, because I never want another child to go through what I did. I know one day we’ll all see it as just another marriage, as just another loving couple because that’s all they are.

What a speech . Kudos to these indian parents. Especially in our parents way of thinking and advising. Truly a remarkable set of parents these are. “ Do i love my son less at 4.31 “ ....wow , brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful.
This is the best wedding speech I have ever listened to. This is progress. 🌟🌟The father is such a wise and loving man. No doubt his wife, Parag’s mother is the same. I simply cannot put into words how deeply moved I am by this father. Dr. Mehta's speech reminded me of my late aunt who was a very traditional Chinese lady. When her youngest son came out during a family reunion, everyone at the dinner table was worried about how she'd respond. Oh my goodness, this dad made my heart swell. The love he has for his son. And he is funny! Beautiful people
Jai Jinendra Vaibhav Bhai,
Parag Ji is very lucky to have such amazing and open minded father.
Respect from Jodhpur, India
What a great speech! His consciousness of circumstance is amazing. His personal evolution is astonishing.
We need more people like this family in the world!
Exactly mam.
A wonderful man playing an amazing father!!
The value of authenticity and being a truth seeker is amazing to witness. Great dad with an amazing son
I pray that I can deliver a beautiful speech for my daughter and daughter law as your father did for you on your wedding day. Bless you and you and your family always.
Speak from a place of love and you will be fine xox
So emotional and beautiful speech! Everyone needs someone like you in their lives. Well done Sir!
I love the father's open and honesty from his once perspective, and how he looked forward and dealt with the officiants and how to decide who was right to marry this couple, and who was not. That is real love
What a wonderful dad showing unconditional love for his son no matter how difficult it was for him.
Best 22 mins of my life spend watching this video. Thank you.
That was very heart-felt & very touching. Only a very strong-willed, courageous father w/ a solid foundation of nothing more than love for his son can do what this dad did in this video. You’ve earned my respect.
Oh my gosh! Vijay uncle made me cry.
He is blessed with such understanding parents .
@@supriyamehra4281 You know it must be so hard for all parties concerned as there are 2 generations here from a strict culture and so those lovely parents will have to deal with the sad as it is stigma attached from the people they have faced some form of discrimination. I really feel for the whole of this family. The Pitashri and Matashri are proud of their son and hence the groons had a very special day. Keep happy always :)
Love this speech. All fathers should be accepting like him.
Congratulations you guys!! This is so emotional and touching. It was so great to hear this and understand the emotions Parag's parents went through being Jains and believing in the theory of Karma at the same time accepting he truth. It just makes me tempted to say , If we can hear what your (Vaibhav's) parents went through emotionally when you came out to them.As it would be more difficult to be accepted in Indian society as compared to living in the states. And what was the motivation behind it and how they are dealing with it as they reside in India.
Thank you for your kind comment, Nidhi! Brut India did a beautiful feature on us that you can watch here: facebook.com/watch/?v=852077051824081.
Alternately, just search for "Parag + Vaibhav" on Google and you'll be able to find several stories that talk about my experience coming out to my parents.
@@vaibhav86jain Congratulations to you and your husband. Wishing you, all the best.
As an African Texan i can relate how much fear your dad had. You are so blessed to have such wonderful parents. Congratulations on your marriage.
I respect this comment so much. I know in Africa this is forbidden.
@@breakyles2892, Thank you so much. Yes, it is despite making it legal.

More power to you.
sir my huge respect love and hugs to you and aunty. it's amazing what you did. wonderful beautiful. acceptance is so magical.
Great speech. You are inspiring ppl to love thier kids unconditionally. Always we have fear of society .. !!! This speech will contribute to change the Indian typical mindset.
He's such a good loving dad, accepting his son the way he is
What a speech . Kudos to these indian parents. Being from india itself , i know how difficult the journey must have been , as we are drilled with preconceived notions from the moment we are born . ‘ Society , relatives , norms ‘ play a major role in our parents lives , personal happiness not so much alas.
He obviously knows what true love is. ❤️He loves his son before anything else. ❤️❤️He will protect his son and obviously always has. What a wonderful father. Also he has a lovely sense of humour. 🤣😂I am sure in this changing world the newlywed couple will have children in the future. 👶🏽👶🏽 It is possible and those children can look forward to having the best kind and loving grandparents. Congratulations to the newly weds. I wish them happiness, always. 🙏🏻🌺💐🎊🌹🦋🌺🌼💐🦋🌼🌺💐✨🎉🎊
Dr. Mehta's speech reminded me of my late aunt who was a very traditional Chinese lady. When her youngest son came out during a family reunion, everyone at the dinner table was worried about how she'd respond. Instead, she went up to give him a tight hug and assured him that her love for him would never lessen no matter who he fell in love with. RIP, Auntie Han.
perfect example of unconditional love and spoken from his heart!!! May God continue to bless you all!
MARICELA HUERTA hi👋
Omg he is the cutest! God bless him, you, your hubby and your family!
Beautiful. A well thought out speech given with love, understanding and humour. Hopefully will become the norm. Congratulations to the happy couple.
This is truly extraordinary love and support of a loving father who is ready to brave everything for his son who he loves so dearly...lots of love and respect for you Sir....from Mumbai India ☺️
This is what a parent is....loving, supportive, sensible and a blessing. Nothing but true LOVE!
A Father will always be a father regardless of their religious beliefs. A parent's love to their son/daughter indeed is more powerful than any other things in this world. CONGRATULATIONS !!!
The best video of the day. Congratulation to Parag !!! Such a brilliant toast moment from Parents ... Desi parents. Love and regards from Switzerland x
Yes the world is changing and this is a beautiful example of a father's love for his son. He saw the humanity above all even though it was difficult at first to accept.
This is best video on internet. I cant stop crying. You guys lucky to have them as ur parents. Am speechless
That's why in Indian weddings the couple doesn't get crazy with pressure. It's the whole family organizing it.
Dr. Mehta .. Thank YOU Sir! .. because Human Kindness, Love and Happy Heart's are contagious! .. in the most Beautiful way! x
God bless his father, how difficult it is for a parent to accept what dogma perceives to be unacceptable;so beautiful that he embraces the humaneness his son is, before the label the world gives to sexual orientation.
How yo doin 😋
Power of right education +and love of parents superb🔥
Love the Dad so much! Such a generous and open heart.
I salute this dad for understanding and accepting about his son being gay
@Benedictia Bovas "stay tuned for birth of my grand children ... without straight parents"
My dad is indian and would NEVER be this accepting. This is so touching
The best dad in the whole world....it's always good to support our children and families..what one should think is you never failed when bringing them up so accept whatever comes because you cannot change it. Bless you all.
One of the million good man father... I salute u sir... Hoping all father like u... Accepting and support ur son... He is so lucky...
