Actually the problem is not just with the older generation, it's the straight youth too, many gays and lesbains don't feel comfortable to come out to their straight friends too fearing rejection.
As a gay person, I feel happy seeing this. It’s the Victorian mindset through colonisation that has made Indian societies homophobic. Hinduism and Ancient India was very open to its sexual diversity and it was always celebrated. The west at the time found it so barbaric and put that into Indian mindset’s.

Look at the MANY countries that were ruled over by European/Asian(China, Japan, etc) nations during the victorian Eras or before and see where they stand now in terms of their citizens' freedom and safety when it comes to sexual orientations, gender, etc in general. Don't get me wrong , I'm an Indian by heart and soul and considers myself patriotic but it's hypocritical of us to point our fingers at the West on certain negative things/points that keeps us behind the more developed countries . For just one example , you can take the cast system which was a practice started in Ancient India. That practice would have been removed long ago if not for the majority of us being tied to traditional thinking, be it good or bad. It was us who started it and us( some) who chose to keep it. I don't wanna go too deep on this but It was from Old Architectures and 'probably' a few historians that we came to know about homosexuality being practiced 'openly'(allegedly) in Ancient India. But I truly doubt that it was fully accepted by majority of the societies openly in India as a whole at all even during those particular times. It probably was a handful of rulers from time to time from a handful of certain eras throughout history that allowed/influenced homosexuality for specific reasons which could even be quite personal to the specific rulers , if you know what I mean. It is no secret that most parts of India is still extremely conservative today. Yes the Brits did loot and stole from us like they did to several other Nations but these practices we mentioned here weren't planted in our minds by them. On the bright side, It's good to see the new generation starting to become very tolerant/accepting of homosexuality though. I can see a very pleasant future for the LGBTs here in the next few decades and hopefully in the Rural ares too. :)

I wish I could do this. I'm gay and constantly have to act straight because my mom had her suspicions and before I even had the courage to come out she told me "being gay is wrong. If you are gay, I will kill you then kill myself for being your mother" so I couldn't come out. Ever. I've only come out to 3 of my friends and luckily they support me but most of my society is extremely homophobic and... Being a gay boy ( quite good looking) from a Bengali Hindu family am happy my mom and dad support me with my Australian partner although they matched the kundali tough and now it seems they love their Australian Jamai Raja more than me and even though am a son am only allowed to go out party and drink crazy when am with william ( my partner) when ever am in India alone and my mom says if you in our eyes you cant go out alone but if william with him go out do anything its his responsibility not ours ... Although they accepted but still they are Indian in their own ways 😂
Honestly, the sad reality is that the situation isn't that easy or simple in reality. Families don't just accept their LGBT+ child that easily or do things like shown in the video to "try and convert their child to being straight". The video still do is fun and it'd be much much better if the world actually accepted LGBT+ people so easily, even if they subtly tried to "convert" LGBT+ people "back to straight". (Even if technically that's not possible as LGBT+ people are born the way they are!!)

Sorry for intervening in your conversation...but I would like to share something about homophobia....I am a straight guy ...and never had any personal interaction with anybody from LGBT+ community in my whole acedmic years. In 2017 , one of my friend recommended the F.R.I.E.N.D.S sitcom...and in the very first episode , Ross is shown depressed coz her wife came out and left him for a women. Before that time I was like. ...I was ok to be gay ..like they (homosexuals) marry with there people, any never thought it might happen with me. Though I completed watching the sitcom , but It made me more insecure that what if some day my gf or wife tells me that ,I am gay, what will I do , I will be lonely and all and was like the lesbians are in the the pool(sorry for the language 😅). So to answer my insecurities, I researched many TH-cam videos , then I realized my insecurities are there coz of the fear that I will b alone, but even if a straight gal rejects me even that time I'll be lonely ....n secondly ,what is the relevance of such a relationship in which the couple is unhappy and the reason is not money or time or status ,which is achievable, but something that I don't have any control. Now I feel I m completely out of that homophobia (which was only towards lesbians ), now even, sometimes I ask myself some questions like ....what if my future wife came out or my son or daughter , what and how should I react ,etc .

I don't have the courage and I don't thing I will be able to accept if they reject me. I love them with all my heart. When I see people in love I get a strong feeling of jealousy in my heart. As a gay person, I feel happy seeing this. It’s the Victorian mindset through colonisation that has made Indian societies homophobic. Hinduism and Ancient India was very open to its sexual diversity and it was always celebrated. The west at the time found it so barbaric and put that into Indian mindset’s.

Look at the MANY countries that were ruled over by European/Asian(China, Japan, etc) nations during the victorian Eras or before and see where they stand now in terms of their citizens' freedom and safety when it comes to sexual orientations, gender, etc in general.
Don't get me wrong , I'm an Indian by heart and soul and considers myself patriotic but it's hypocritical of us to point our fingers at the West on certain negative things/points that keeps us behind the more developed countries . For just one example , you can take the cast system which was a practice started in Ancient India. That practice would have been removed long ago if not for the majority of us being tied to traditional thinking, be it good or bad. It was us who started it and us( some) who chose to keep it.
I don't wanna go too deep on this but It was from Old Architectures and 'probably' a few historians that we came to know about homosexuality being practiced 'openly'(allegedly) in Ancient India. But I truly doubt that it was fully accepted by majority of the societies openly in India as a whole at all even during those particular times. It probably was a handful of rulers from time to time from a handful of certain eras throughout history that allowed/influenced homosexuality for specific reasons which could even be quite personal to the specific rulers , if you know what I mean.
It is no secret that most parts of India is still extremely conservative today. Yes the Brits did loot and stole from us like they did to several other Nations but these practices we mentioned here weren't planted in our minds by them.
On the bright side, It's good to see the new generation starting to become very tolerant/accepting of homosexuality though. I can see a very pleasant future for the LGBTs here in the next few decades and hopefully in the Rural ares too. :)

Being a gay boy ( quite good looking) from a Bengali Hindu family am happy my mom and dad support me with my Australian partner although they matched the kundali tough and now it seems they love their Australian Jamai Raja more than me and even though am a son am only allowed to go out party and drink crazy when am with william ( my partner) when ever am in India alone and my mom says if you in our eyes you cant go out alone but if william with him go out do anything its his responsibility not ours ... Although they accepted but still they are Indian in their own ways 😂

Families don't just accept their LGBT+ child that easily or do things like shown in the video to "try and convert their child to being straight".

Sorry for intervening in your conversation...but I would like to share something about homophobia....I am a straight guy ...and never had any personal interaction with anybody from LGBT+ community in my whole acedmic years.
In 2017 , one of my friend recommended the F.R.I.E.N.D.S sitcom...and in the very first episode , Ross is shown depressed coz her wife came out and left him for a women. Before that time I was like. ...I was ok to be gay ..like they (homosexuals) marry with there people, any never thought it might happen with me.
Though I completed watching the sitcom , but It made me more insecure that what if some day my gf or wife tells me that ,I am gay, what will I do , I will be lonely and all and was like the lesbians are in the the pool(sorry for the language 😅).
So to answer my insecurities, I researched many TH-cam videos , then I realized my insecurities are there coz of the fear that I will b alone, but even if a straight gal rejects me even that time I'll be lonely ....n secondly ,what is the relevance of such a relationship in which the couple is unhappy and the reason is not money or time or status ,which is achievable, but something that I don't have any control.
Now I feel I m completely out of that homophobia (which was only towards lesbians ), now even, sometimes I ask myself some questions like ....what if my future wife came out or my son or daughter , what and how should I react ,etc .
I am only out online and not in my personal life. SO glad to see LGBT+ supportive videos out for the Indian community.

But I don't know how they will take the fact. For a starter, I'll be glad if they at least react like these parents and don't go to depression...

And please do not confuse homosexuals with transgender people. Not all gay men dress like girls nor do all lesbians dress like men. I have come across many gay people who didn't seem like gay at all until they came out. And there's no such thing as the mom and dad in same sex parenting it's either both moms or both dads. Yes, I don't deny that there are some gay who might be feminine but you can't deny that there are some straight men who are feminine as well.
