- A TAS (tool-assisted speedrun) that unlocks all characters in Super Smash Bros. Melee as fast as possible. Note that a lot of repetitive content has been cut out of the video, so it is only six minutes long while the true length of the run is around two and a half hours.
This run uses the PAL version of the game, although there are no significant differences between it and NTSC for the purposes of this run.
While this is a tool-assisted speedrun, it is not heavily optimized - it mainly serves as a proof of concept of how characters can be unlocked quickly.

Lol, it fooled even me, and I actually GREW UP playing this. but it was MOSTLY because I haven't touched this game in over 20 years(or so, CANT remember WHEN this game came out so sorry if I over shot the estimate. but what I MEAN is I HAVEN'T played this game in a really, REALLY long ass time. so it FEELS like about 20 years).
I remembered the rouster of characters and KNEW already that cloud wasn't in the game... but as SOON as I saw that silhouette. . . it confused the ever living hell out of me. yes, gannondarf DID cross my mind, but it was FAR more like cloud.. I NEVER recalled gannondarf's challenger approaching silhouette looking like THAT. . which is strange.... up till the small little reference in his taunt from brawl, gannondarf was NEVER acknowledged to even have a sword up till when he was GIVEN a sword in ultimate. .
Does stamina mode really not have the results screen after the match? I never knew

That's because the sword and model in Melee came from a unreleased unknown Spaceworld 2000 Zelda tech title.

Unlocking mewtwo in this game is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in any game lmao wtf was Nintendo thinking by playing hours and hours and hours to get one character? Lmao why not just do a challenge that’s so hard and then able to get him after completing the challenge lol
And to top it off he was trash back then.
I don't see the issue with the time method if there was another one where you could unlock him earlier if you did a hard challenge like you said. But yeah, it's BS you have to either play for 20 hours or play over 700 matches just to unlock Mewtwo.

Also pro tip: get 4 controllers, plug em in, start a 4 player battle with no time limit, and then just wait for 5 hours then finish the match. Then mewtwo will appear. The more players, the less hours required

So the easiest way to face, defeat and get all the characters of that videogame is to have 990 victories in Multiplayer Mode.

Play 989 Stamina matches and then you will unlock all Fighters at once.
Ironic how you fight Marth on Fountain of Dreams and Falco on Battlefield, which are two of their best legal stages

@@javi994 FD is all neutral and chaingrabs. I meant when it comes to what Marth is able to do (i.e. sharking, aerials, etc.) FoD and BF are his best stages.

Idk if anyone ever noticed this, but if you look closely at the chalenger approaching screen, there's an eye that gets bigger and smaller
If you fail a character unlock (ie get killed by the challenger) do you have to redo the task for him to appear again?
with specific events yes
Are you playing the pal version, because in pal its says "Fight till end' while in ntsc its says fight until your last breath

Wasn't it much easier to play classic mode and unlock jigglypuff through there?
Not really, because I still need to do increase the VS. Count for the other characters regardless.
Plus the increasing vs count would eventually unlock certain unlockable new stages anyway
@@Noxxa You are locked to 700 VS matches by Mewtwo, but 800/900/1000 for Luigi, Roy, and Mr. Game and Watch should be skippable with their other possible requirements? Cutting 300 matches of your setup saves about 40 minutes, and you should be able to unlock these characters in less than that time with their alternate methods (do BTT for G&W).
@@TheShootingStarKing Correct, it would be possible to do this faster by doing Adventure Mode for Luigi, then Classic Mode with Marth for Roy, and BtT for GnW. Probably saves around 25 minutes or so
That would take a lot more manual effort than what I did here though :p

One question how you activate that or how you get the Tool Assisted Speedrun
...you asking how to make one? If so, there's plenty of tutorials for TAS making, and for making TASes for GameCube games, along with every other emulator with that kind of feature.

you know now that i think about it, how did you set your melee matches to 990 to like boss rush all the unlockable characters? i wanna delete my data to do that to it would look very cool
Matches in Stamina mode count towards the match counter but won't give you a character unlock battle. So you can do 989 stamina matches and then do 11 normal matches and get an unlock battle each time
I think you can also get the same effect by erasing Hidden Characters in the Erase Data menu and then playing normal matches again, but I haven't tried that myself
