Young me didn't know about the easy ways to unlock these characters, so I must've played thousands of matches, I had a bit too much free time
If you had a big group of friends you probably unlocked characters in no time at all. Hell I remember when me and 9 of my other friends had a big Melee sleepover weekend. We unlocked most of the characters and got excited seeing ones like Ganondorf, Falco, ETC.
I unlocked almost unlocked all characters by playing matches
Yup and just when you think you unlocked everyone you get another challenger approching screen fro Mr Game and watch and your mind is absolutely blown 🥹🥹

There was actually a funny story when I unlocked Ganondorf, I don't know what happened but I played a bunch of vs matches to unlock Pichu and Falco, then I decided to play adventure mode with Falco and I didn't know about the Luigi requirement. Anyways once I conpleted adventure mode with Falco Ganondorf challenges me, to this day I have no idea how I did that.
I'm not sure but I think Classic Mode battles somehow ended up as VS Battles, Falco takes 300 VS Battles to unlock, did you fight more VS battles after Falco or did you go straight to Classic right after unlocking Falco?

You do know the easiest way to do alot of matches is to just set it on stock mode do the single player name glitch and it will do it
@@bombomb1301 nah it sometimes takes A LOT of time to do the damn Glitch, and if your 2nd controller is a wavebird or a fake you're f***ed because Different latency
If you want to quickly unlock the VS mode stages, match a CPU 9 Ness on Jungle japes. Each match will last 3 seconds IGT. Once fourside is unlocked, match a level 9 Yoshi on fourside, which will take 1 second IGT, saving 200 overall seconds. And hey you get the best song in melee! Hope this helps
Important feature wich unlocks after unlocking every stage and character available is the Sound Test feature. Listen to all music and sounds throughout nintendo's story. I totally hate the unfair battle of event 51. Playing as Ganondorf is your best bet and pray you get the help of legendary pokemons during the event. It only took me less than 3 min to clear it like that, from 1 hour total. Playing as DK with 1 minute pause breaks during 15 min Melee is the safest way to aproach that event allowing you to think an strategy and move safely away from bombs and other various hazards.

I found Mushroom Kingdom 2 easy to unlock because when I start a save file, I normally find the Birdo trophy within five play throughs of adventure mode. (At most)

Funny Story, when I first got melee I didn’t own an SD card so every time I popped the disc in, I started from scratch. The crappiest part about this was that the first TWO times I played this game, I got birdo in like 5 minutes and got the mario bros ii stage, but after I bought an SD card and got a save file, I haven’t seen her since 😂. I used to cue up this video every time I played because I always forgot how to unlock marth and roy and it eventually became a reflex to play as everyone once before I went through adventure mode so I could get roy asap. Thank you so much for the video, it’s very easy to follow and all of the requirements for unlocking things are clear. Love your channel!
I'm glad this video still exists so new audiences can appreciate Melee. I'm not gonna tell you my opinion on it, I just hope if you haven't actually played much Melee that you enjoy it as much as I did!
I think the best thing for the stages that you get from playing 50, 100, 150, and 200 matches, just set it to 1 stock play as a fast faller and SD

@@sonicgamingyt2715 You can try the Masterhand glitch with one player. Just do the glitch and let it sit for 15 minutes. It can be hard sometimes, it takes me 5 minutes to do but it's much easier than doing it legit.
I just got the pidget trophy from the lottery and got really excited. Until I realized it is ONLY the birdo trophy and not the pidget one.
I had to do 6.5 hours for mewtwo cause I only had 3 controllers.

I remember beating event 51 with Jigglypuff because his ‘rest’ move will hit Giga Bowser 100% of the time. After beating hem I spammed the roll move until I was lucky enough to beat Mewtwo and Ganondorf. Took me a whole day if I remember correctly 😂
Or you could be DK in 100 man melee, spam down+b, and presto, you win

I found an alternative strategy for the 15 minute melee. Use Mewtwo, walk to the either corner of the bottom platform. Face away from center stage and charge a Shadowball. Leave it charging and monitor to make sure they don't knock you out of it. If they do, knock em away and charge another Shadowball. This gives good 2 minute breaks from having to do anything before they hit you.
This video is the most useful I found😂
Actually there's a faster way to finish versus matches. Have 2 players, one a CPU on level 9 (yes it works at level 9) and make sure they're Ness. You can be anyone you want. Pick Jungle Japes and just sit there. I've tested this multiple times and its never failed, every match ends in 3 seconds. There might be a rare chance it fails, but by standing still I've never seen it. I didn't come up with this, I found it somewhere but I don't remember where.
I found this trick from prosafia gaming when he was unlocking something.

For event 51, just use puff. Even if you suck with using rest it is still really easy by just spamming side-b into rest

Likely no. As the LP shows, I am god awful at this game. I highly recommend looking at videos made by Melee experts for tech and in depth explanations.

Just bought melee on tuesday and am now trying to unlock everything. I've got everyone except MewTwo and Game and Watch. As well as all the other stages I gotta unlock. So I'm getting there slowly but surely.

I used a level nine ness with lightning melee in the Jungle Japes stage as he'll kill him self one the first stock every time if you don't move great for grinding wins and battles
2:20 Donkey Kong, center stage, spamming Down+B. Works every time.
Got Kong Jungle first try, use Kirby’s up b at the left edge and you’ll win I had 107% damage so it was manageable by the end

A very easy way to do 15 minute melee and unblock Congo jungle is to play as Mewtwo , go to the edge of Battlefield facing the ledge and start charging your Shadow Ball, only the male wireframes can hit you out with some of their moves and you don't get carpal tunnel this way

Final destination has a much easier method with fox as spamming his laser gun while cause them to shield stun themselves allowing for easy smash attacks

Ok sorry one more question if I am unlocking a charecter through something like classic mode or an event, If I lose will I have to do another classic mode or event?
You can play 14 vs matches with the starter characters too which is even faster. Playing melee again and I thought this was really cool considering marth is my favorite character. Reset my characters after over a decade

I remembering unlocking most of them playing regular matches and the event matches, bc i didnt knew how to unlock all of them
I’ve played 164 matches and I don’t have big blue or fourside. But I’ve just been killing myself in one stock stamina mode to make it faster so is that the problem?
How I survived the 15 minute melee is I used the Luigi down special move and when bombs come I use my sheild
DK’s hand slap worked for me for 100 man melee and 15 minute survival
When I had melee I didn’t even have most of these stages 😆 I wondered why so many empty spots were there I’ve never even heard of some of these before
The fastest way to unlock all of the characters is to play 100 of each round
(Especially If you are a PC or Mobile user and/or if you're bored stiff.)
Jigglypuff: 50 rounds
Dr. Mario: 100 rounds
Pichu: 200 rounds
Falco: 300 rounds
Marth: 400 rounds
Young Link: 500 rounds
Ganondorf: 600 rounds
Mewtwo: 700 rounds
Luigi: 800 rounds or adventure mode
Roy: 900 rounds or get him by doing Classic or Adventure mode as marth without using not a darn continue.
Mr. Game and Watch: 1000 rounds or Target test or Classic or adventure mode with the other 25 characters.
This can be best done by speedrunning it. Set stock to one, turn on handicap, set the damage ratio to 2.0 turn off all items and go to stamina mode and start speeding for 1 hour and 39 minutes then go to super sudden death and play a round and a hidden character will appear the process will repeat.
hey I have every character except mr. game and watch and I did classic mode with every character as well as I have over 1000 versus matches, and I've restarted my game and played multiple fights and it just won't unlock for some reason, can you help?
God damn it. I just got to the last 1:30 before completing 15 minute melee. Paused to readjust my hand. Accidentally touched Z and reset the match.

What u should do is go to super sudden death with 2.0 ratio 3v1 works EVERY time
The only way my brother could beat “The Showdown” challenge was with jigglypuff and her sleep ability. Was so easy to get gigabowser with it since he’s such a big target
You can also use peach’s float or Jigglypuff’s rising pound to stall 15 minute melee with less risk of bombs.
Or sheik’s invincible ledge stall if you feel like doing it for 15 minutes straight.
Do you have to do the requirement again if you lose to the new challenger?
Okay, game and watch isn’t unlocked for me, yet I have access to All-Star mode which contains game and watch. I didn’t unlock him still, so does the all star mode have anything to do with him?

Still don't have Poke Floats. 200 VS matches takes forever if you don't have any friends.
I did manage to get Kongo Jungle on my first try of 15 minute melee. A bomb spawned, but it spawned on the platform above me. I was like 8 minutes in. I almost had a heart attack.
Takes 30 minutes if u do lvl 9 CPU Ness on Jungle Japes. He SDs every time, and each match is 3 seconds
If anyone is here in 2020, I'll tell you a way to rack up versus matches. In a one-stock match, play as any character against a LVL 9 Yoshi on Fourside. The match will always end in one second! Alternatively, if you don't have Fourside, you can do a LVL 9 Ness on Jungle Japes, and the match ends in 3 seconds.

If you want to be cheap as hell for both Even 51 and Multi-Man you can use a glitch that lets you play as Master Hand. Master Hand can't be beaten and can easily win the 15 minute Melee and Event 51. Also You could just leave Master Hand alone for 15 minutes because he can't be knocked out. The Master hand glitch is worth it if you feel like easily winning. Due to the stages used Master Hand will not crash the game. So this hands you a cheap but easy win. The glitch can be done all without any outside help from something like a GameShark. So if you feel like removing the stress then this works. Keep in mind some game crashes might still happen but they never really hurt the game because it never crashes while saving.

Basically don’t run out of lives and use the continue option when playing through classic, adventure and all star mode
You missed a point. Falco can also be unlocked doing the event matches. It's the event where Fox and Falco are invisible, and man it is hard. Same goes for mewtwo. Maybe?

What happens if you complete Adventure Mode with Mario without using any continues while finishing Stage 1 with the timer ending in a 2 and beating Luigi and Peach in under a minute, and it’s your first time playing Adventure Mode? Who will take priority: Jigglypuff, Dr. Mario, or Luigi?

To get falco or beat 100 man melee easily just use down B with Donkey Kong and DONT STOP you will win eventually it took me 4 mins to win and it was first try
It’s best to unlock Marth if you play with everyone in vs Mode with a level 9 CPU of Ness and choose the Jungle Japes stage
Also a useful way to get Brinstar Depths
to unlock Marth easily set the game to a 1 stock match, play as player 1 and set player 2 to a lvl 9 ness and set the stage to jungle japes
if you do nothing ness will kill himself
select the next character and repeat and save your favorite character for last

I load up a new save file on Melee, what do I get? Birdo! Unfortunately I didn’t get the stage off the bat. I got a dupe in the Lottery and it unlocked.

It should be noted that using lightning melee can stack with the 4 controller method

I never made it to event 51 because I couldn’t defeat both of the Master Hands. In fact, I thought that event would unlock Final Destination 😅
