I don't celebrate Christmas any more since I became an atheist, but fortunately I found politics never came up much at our family dinner table. I usually find the key is to try and be accepting of different political views, and to not let it get to you when people disagree with you. As someone who tends to have controversial political views himself, I find I have to be accepting of controversial ideas in others!

I don't have to worry about any of these holidays blow ups at any family dinner table. I was a foster and never adopted, so no family. I don't celebrate family holidays; I don't even celebrate my birthday...who would do that if they were given away twice by their biological mother. It's not all bad, I give those friends I consider friends gifts, but not this year because it's a bad financial year for me. Happy Holidays to those who believe and celebrate. 🎄
It's probably best to declare the dinner table off-limits for debating politics, especially during holidays. What do you think?
