  • Satisfying all my sushi cravings at Poke 51, one of the first Poke restaurants in Lima, Peru. I visit my friend Stefano, one of the owners of Poke 51 to try some delicious Poke Fusion. It’s not just a Poke Bar, but also a sit down restaurant with a great atmosphere and even better service. They offer your traditional Hawaiian Poke Bowls but with a Peruvian/Nikkei twist and a varied menu including the best Causa I’ve had in Peru! I get to sample so many sushi dishes like a stunning share board, my favourite Maki roll, high grade sashimi, and many more. I also get the chance to go into their kitchen and learn how to make the famous acevichada sauce Peruvians love!
Visit Poke 51 for some incredible food, drinks and good times!
Address: Av. Mariscal La Mar 1263 Miraflores - Lima, Peru

    Felicitaciones! Andy.
    Saludos desde Barcelona!

Good Andy! Once again broadening the knowledge of our precious cuisine. I felt like stealing all that delicious food. Thanks for letting us know of new restaurants & new fusions. I am a fanatic of our Typical Peruvian cooking but seeing how the World has embraced ours, I am very happy to widen my horizons & I'll be able to visit good new restaurants that emphasize the goodness of our products. I hope the World is watching & listening & they will be interested in acquiring them. Thanks again love, keep up the good work!

No se puede ver bien lo que comen porque la cámara no enfoca , cuando el chico explica no se ve sobre que habla porque solo se le ve a el.

With so many traditional delicious dishes and overall one of the best cuisines in the world why would anyone want to go to a Sushi restaurant in Peru? I hope you don't plant to go to China to try peruvians dishes...

Hola! You should do a bit of research on Nikkei Cuisine. Maybe this video will help: th-cam.com/video/XUcpflKig2g/w-d-xo.html
Nikkei (Japanese/Peruvian) restaurants in Peru are incredibly popular for a reason. Just a little bit of background for you: The Japanese arrived in Peru late 19th century and a culinary style as Nikkei was born. The Japanese even modified our flagship dish, Ceviche! Before it was left for hours to marinate in the tigers milk whereas now, it’s left for a few minutes only. Tiradito is also another dish that reflects the Japanese influence, raw fish that's been sliced sashimi style. And believe it or not we also have Chinese/Peruvian food called Chifa! As a consequence of the Spanish colonising Peru, the African, Chinese, Italian and Japanese immigrations, Peruvian cuisine was enriched with new techniques and produce. Our cuisine is a literal melting pot of flavours and traditions from all these different cultures. These large waves of immigrants, became integral components of the cultural and culinary framework which is Peruvian cuisine.
Here are a few links of some videos where I talk about the various influences:

Hope all this information helps you have a better understanding of Peruvian cuisine!

@@eatingwithandy9429 other than the few aristocrat elite of Lima, I can assure you that nobody else in peru cares about some new trendy wanna be fusion dish. In fact the vast majority of Peruvians ( including myself) don't even know what Nikki , Nikko, Micki or whatever it's called is.....

@@mikvas8088 I love my Peruvian food but at the same time I'm ready to try other delicious dishes that the World has to offer, specially if it has a touch of our cuisine. The World changes & tastes get more mature, it seems yours is still living in the 1950's. Live & change a little & you will discover other tastes. Do you own a computer or a mobile? or are you stil writing letters in a Remington & driving a Cadillac from the 70's". Widen your horizons, my friend.
