It was Half-Life that made me switch to the PC... even though I'd already seen Doom & Quake running, I could never afford one at that time - but as soon as I had the opportunity, I got one... with Half Life, mission complete 😇🕹️👌
Commodore were far too slow updating the amiga hardware..no way they could keep up with pc manufacturers...c64 was still selling substantially even up to the end...bad management was the final nail in the coffin.
I thought this was a homebrew that you'd reviewed to get attention. Fate of Atlantis on the C64? I thought it only ever came out on the Amiga and PC! It's interesting to see how many games came out on the C64 long after I'd moved on to the Amiga.
@@CheekyCommodoreGamerwhen I said to get attention I meant that I've seen other people make videos of games that never existed on certain systems to grab attention - clickbait. I'm glad you keep things genuine and in really enjoying your videos 😊
Hopefully get around to covering that at some point. I love all of the Lucasfilm/Lucasarts point & click games... many many hours of pure addictive fun 😇🕹️👌
I have never played this game before, but i do know, it also came out for the Amiga. And i have this retrospective feeling, that The Graphic Adventure version of this game is much better 😺👍🕹️ than The Action Game 😹.
You're absolutely spot on there - the point & click adventure for the Amiga has to be around 10 times better (if not more). Hopefully, I'll get around to that one too someday 😇🕹👌
A 'lot' of the games looked MILES better on the CRT... the pixels were probably programmed to be perfectly aligned - and when they're on an LCD they all look much more plain. But you're probably right, this game isn't brilliant graphically, mainly due to the solid colours and all the brown hues 😇🕹👌
@@CheekyCommodoreGamer hi good video and good work . thanks for video review . i have Indiana jones jnd the fate of atlantis on atari st, c64 and i like this game .
@@CheekyCommodoreGamerI can imagine that many dithering-type graphic tricks were used in old games to take advantage of how CRTs worked to fool the eye. In pixel perfect LCD/LED monitors, though, the jig is up and the cat's out of the bag!
Seeing Fate of Atlantis on my friend's PC in 1991 was what finally pushed me to switch from Amiga to IBM. I knew Commodore's run was finally over.

To get attention!? Haha yeah it's a pretty decent action version of the Adventure counterpart. The Amiga adventure is an awesome game, love it 😇🕹👌

Thankyou, there were so many great games for our beloved C64 - hopefully there will be some more than bring back great memories 😇🕹👌
Q buen juego! Gracias por compartir
Its a nice little game, I actually really enjoyed playing this on the Amiga too 😇🕹️👌
Never played this and forgot it existed! Massive fan of the point and click adventure tho!

I got the point and click Fate of Atlantis for xmas when it came out. Played it to death and then some. Never played the action version though.
Absolutely love the point & click game, had it for my Amiga - must get around to covering that one someday 😇🕹️👌

Ambitious, but I don't think the C64 was graphically up to the challenge. Maybe it looked much better on an old CRT?

Did they have to use green as the main colour for the characters? They look like gremlins.
Seems that way haha, maybe they wanted to 'green screen' in the real Indy at some point in the future! 😇🕹️👌
This game was based on a Dark Horse Comic mini series
Ahh nice. It's a good storyline, would have made a decent film - better than the 'Crystal Skull' that's for sure! 😞🕹👌
It is the other way around.
👍
Not a bad game. Had its good moments 😇🕹👌
Another one I didnt play back in the day. The awful brown blue graphics would of put me off
Admittedly it is very drab, but I found that with all the Indiana Jones games on the C64... they all had that 'brown' hue to the levels 😆🕹👌
Never had this, but the graphics have made my eyes bleed.
It certainly 'Fifty Shades Of Brown'... but without the hole 😇🕹️👌
For the standard of 92 it's alright...but by today, for me, it's not a c64 game worth visiting (go last ninja or vendetta!)
Last Ninja 100%... definitely a better isometric romp, with fantastic music too 😇🕹️👌
