I got here through a record I just bought (WEBN, Album Project 4 1979). I really love the sound of this track on that record. This live performance is awesome. That slide is where it’s at.
Hadn't seen this for years. Whew, great live perf. Great Wheeler song and vocal, and band is right on the money (if I do say so myself). I am so glad there is a record of these days. There will never be another band like this.
I spent the best weekends of my college years at UC (78-82) listening to these guys tear it up a Shipley’s. One of my favorite bands still... Where’s the video of Johnny Rosebud doing “Kansas City” with the band? 🎸🎶
I will sometimes play the intro to this song in music stores checking out amps or guitars; invariably someone will walk over and ask "Wheels fan? Oh yeah!!! " Thanks for the music. Prob saw these guys 30 times.
They have a double live CD coming out Aug.2020 wheels2.bandzoogle.com/album/1665328/wheels-backstage-live-11-3-79?fbclid=IwAR3RxakqU4c0O03YMFvPuBIIEFxOytizkJfXulxDMKjHMf8YIonM_odxPpg

This band had an unstoppable groove and vibe, not-to-mention the best players in the midwest. It was such a pleasure and privilege to be a member.

Use to watch these guys at Shipley's ... Very tight band, great vocals, and that SLIDE!!!
Oh lord those nights at Shipley's with these guys
Got any good stories?
This was my favorite song when I was a freshman in HS,, when WEBN & 96 Rock played this in the 80's,,,,IT STILL IS!
Sounds as good to my ears today as it did then, maybe better- Great tunes, Awesome talent on all counts, they never got their due props.
I'm reminded of what a damn good drummer Mickey Foellger is.
Where can I get a download of the Wheels studio album?
