I saw Rob and the guys when I worked on guitars in Pensacola Florida in the 70's and 80's. This was always a favorite of mine. Rob used to play a Fender Mustang and he would yank on the neck to get the de-tuned sound and I would cringe. When I asked him how the hell it would cone back in to tune he said he would just yank it back. LOL I've known a lot of guitar players in my day and he was/is a great one. Still have a Raisins T-Shirt too. Cheers to you all.
I liked everyone of their songs, but this is my favorite one. I remember seeing them in Pensacola around 1981 and was watching them set up for the show. Me and a friend of mine also played in a band back then and still do. I told Scott, I bet this band is going to suck judging from the beat up Fender Precision Bass and the Strat with the missing pick-up. I was floored when they kicked off and we stayed the entire show mesmerized. These guys have explosive energy. Great Band and fantastic musicians. I would love to see them again
I saw them a few times in Pensacola at Machinegun kelly's around 73-75. They had another guitar player at that time playing with Rob. They were top notch. In Fla drinking age turned 18 on July 1 ,1973. Glad I survived that.
I've seen him! Up close and personal in a small club where there were about 25 people and the Raisins performed as a three-piece with no stage. Rob Fetters was about ten feet away from me all night playing his ass off and it was double-plus awesome.
- I bet he's a Hell of a comedian. Makes me think of Lettice Rowbotham playing her music and her absolutely massive sense of humour. Her main goal in life is to make people laugh really hard. She is extremely expert at that. Her amazing personality blows minds. She sounds obese and ugly but she's far from it. Any woman that looks exactly like Doutzen Kroes the supermodel or Emily Blunt the actress is about as far from ugly as you can get. She doesn't always resemble them but at times You'd swear they are identical triplets. She's amazing. Check her out and get back with me, if you don't mind. Binge watch her awhile and I bet she'll turn your frown upside down with a grin you'll probably have to wear for weeks. You're welcome. Thank me later. Don't fall in love.
@@donolinger6904 Fall in love? No problems there. I found her rather tacky and contrived to be honest. Would make a killing in Vegas. Sorry. To each his own as they say.
I remember going and seeing these guys all the time when I was in college. I had a friend who bore such a striking resemblance to Rob Fetters that I once talked a bouncer to let us in for free because it would perk up the bar to have a look-alike around. It worked! Good times.
They really made Dr. Robert their own. I got to see the psychodots open for Adrian Belew and then they were Adrian's backing band thus the only time I got to see The Bears.
When I see or hear old Cincinnati shit. I have a flashback of the dawn patrol talking about early morning on the way to work. Eddie saw a car full of Asians on acid.
I can't find any of their old originals online, like "i like ice" and "don't give up", for two right off the top of my head. Their cover of Brown Sugar was about as awesome as this. Not quite, but... I like ice in the summer it can be very nice
I'm trying to piece together this show with TH-cam clips and was wondering if anyone has any info on the setlist? I randomally find songs from this show on here, but not always when I search.. usually finding them on related videos after clicking through a bunch of different raisins links. Anyways, fetters and the entire band are way underrated. Remember hearing these guys as a young child because my pops played them and the bears a lot. I'm 32 in 2016 and wish I was ten years older so I could have grown up with more great music like this.

The best version of this song I’ve ever heard! Killer guitar Rob!
Never got to see the Raisins, but saw the Bears and Psychodots countless times. My favorite bands. Such freaky talent that got too little respect.
The Raisins were heads and shoulders above those other. Nothing beats Rob Fetters' raw energy.

the best guitarist you've never seen! this is absolutely ridiculous!!!

I've heard this version hundreds of times (since it's on E&M), but still, every time, my reaction is: wow. Thanks Jeff!
For God's sake, the 4 who thumbs-downed are truly sad, unenlightened people. This is early '80s SW OH at its freaking most white-hot!
its a beatles cover so ... also on the internet the more dislikes you have the more excellent you are

Rob Fetters is huge in my book!
Fuckn hilarious. And oh yeah he's an amazing gutar player and singer/songwriter.
Dr. Robert was a dentist who introduced The Beatles to LSD. The Raisins rock it! Rob Fetters. Nothing else to say. Bob Niswonger is a force!

Cool Beatles cover!
Greatness
Rob Fetters should have been huge.
He should have the biggest star of rock n roll. He had everything, man. The band that changed my life.
Rob Fetters IS huge.
@@italianfox895 Seeing them in Cincy the week of Thanksgiving.
Que gran guitarrista.
Fetters kills! You can hear the connection from Raisins>Bears>King Crimson. Stellar playing all around.

who is that drummer? I only know Bam.
The Raisins drummer at this time was Mike Hodges. He did a world tour with Bowie and Adrian in '89.

I don't know how this freaking band was ever popular back in the day in this town he's like the Cincinnati's version of Weird Al Yankovic...
Rob looks like a young Ted Nugent. Never noticed that before.
