So interesting that Rosemary has been re-classified as a sage! I put sage in all our winter teas to help with colds- but maybe it was helping other things I did not know!
Last year I made a Sage, Echinacea leaves and flowers, Peppermint, Honey and 80% alcohol tincture. Both my husband and I used it during our dance with Covid. It totally reduced our sore throat within a day. I love the Sage. I am guessing that sage will also help with the inflammation caused from a Traumatic Brain Injury. Seven years ago I suffered one after a near death accident. Since then I have very limited taste and smell and no hunger, as well as balance problems and no sense of being tired. I will start to drink some of my dehydrated sage. THANK YOU & GOD BLESS you for all that you share here.
My family absolutely love dried sprinkled over potatoes wedges before baking them in the oven. It takes the simple meal to the next level and even those who find sage too aromatic love it this way.
I use common garden sage to make smudge sticks and fluff to burn in a shell like incense. I learned that the smoke of sage attaches itself to a virus and causes it to fall out of the air, so it sanitizes the air in a room. It balances positive and negative ions in a house when closed in for winter. Native Folklore says it drives out evil spirits, probably because balancing ions has positive affect on mood. I don't use it much in cooking but wish I did, never seems to match the meal. I struggle with the strong taste of sage tea, but maybe with lemon, hubby says all my teas taste like lemonade, lol. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you for your videos. I sipped on sage and thyme tea for my sore throat during my Covid infection. It was very helpful and my symptoms turned out to be very mild. Much like a cold, which is what I thought I had. I love your books and your down to earth and easy to apply information
Your healthful information is so valuable, thank you. I have a rampantly-growing sage plant in my garden that I didn’t know how to use beyond seasoning. Now I can treat our occasional complaints with a nice cup of sage tea.
I love your work and sooo appreciate the content you share with us. I am always learning so much. You are amazing, so glad you are following your passion. ☺️🙌❤️
What about Pineapple Sage? I planted some last year and although I wasn't thrilled with the taste of the tea I made from it, the hummingbirds loved its flowers.
I tried growing the pineapple sage in pots but wasn't successful. Both my plants died. I was growing it for the flowers and also thought the leaves would be great as a tea. I have been growing the white sage for more than 5 years in pots and is growing wonderfully. Kinda sad that the pineapple one didn't grow for me 🤔
blessings from Chicago. I just got sage with the purple blossums, from our Green City farmers market. I've also, just been diagnosed with streptococcal. I will make tea to drink and mix with my fire cider to gargle.
Thank you for this wonderful video about sage.....one of my favorites that I have tons of this year! Yay! Also, I love, love, love your sweater and was so excited to find out you knit it yourself! Beautiful!!! Thanks for everything and happy herbing☺️💐☺️
I love putting sage into honey. I struggle with sage tea, so the sweetness of the honey helps so much. I don't know how I feel about rosemary being reclassified as a salvia!!! 😂
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Your love, passion and deep appreciation for nature’s gifts are so evident in your wonderful, needless to say, informative videos. I so appreciate you. ❤
As always, your videos are a gift! Loved this one, and it felt so timely as both of my kids have terrible sore throats. I plan to plant a bunch of sage in my garden now. Thanks also on the info about white sage. I had not been aware of that.
I live in Albuquerque NM. Mild winters. I want to plant sage in a pot. Will the leaves stay on the plant in the winter or do you have to cut it back to the ground and wait for spring?
Ive first encountered fresh sage plant in madinah saudi arabia and im interested to know if i can grow it here in ph just couple days ago i bought sage seeds in a supermarket but i cant read the instructions on the sachet as its all written in chinese, only the price is written in english or so i figure so here i am checking every info i can get to be able to grow this herb i hope to learn from you
Do we know which sage to get like for tea, throat, digestion? And also my hubby had cancer radiation tongue throat neck etc needs more saliva....will sage help him? He is bout to hv a surgery balloon procedure to help his swallowing/eating drinking etc. cuz the radiation fried his throat, thyroid you name it. Anywho wondering if sage will help him and it has to be drinkable swallowable for him. He mostly lives on liquids. Me? I may need some sort of sage tea bcuz i hv been sick ...i think it turned into a sinus infection.? But i also hv been drinking cloves, cayanne, ginger, honey and sometimes lemon juice in hot water and i think the cayanne and ginger help a ton.
This was interesting information. Many years ago I was introduced to sage tea for PMS but I didn't enjoy the strong taste. Recently I saw some dried mountain sage (salvia regla) in a store. The accompanying signage stated it that it was good for diabetes and a host of other things. Can you tell us what you know about the health benefits of this particular type of safe?
It is okay if that is all you can get. Here are some ways you can find herbs: 1. Search for herbal apothecaries near you. 2. Visit Rosalee’s listing of herb farms and wildcrafters within the US and Canada to find fresh herbs near you. www.herbalremediesadvice.org/Herb-Farms-Wildcrafters.html 3. Visit Mountain Rose Herbs, an online apothecary that sells high quality organic herbs. They are Rosalee’s first choice for herbs she’s not able to find near her. bit.ly/2KXdWIA Warmly, Karin Rose
Thank you for the information, I'm wondering what to do with the buds? I picked mine before they flowered today and wonder how to use them and what they would be useful for? last year I picked my sage after it flowered and then dried the flowers with the leaves but this year I wanted to see if I could extend the growing time.
I like to mixed sage flowers with chive flowers and chopped parsley and maldon salt. Mix thoroughly and then let stand on a cookie sheet until dried. Makes a flavorful and beautiful seasoned salt blend.
There are many sages and they all have different gifts. There's not a lot of crossover between culinary sage (Salvia spp.) and desert sage (Artemisia spp.).
I started to make a tincture using just the purple flowers but now I'm convinced that this is not what I should be doing. Do you have any information for me on just using the flowers?
To me sage flowers have a lovely aromatic taste and scent that is less pronounced than the leaves. I wouldn't personally make medicine just from the flowers as I suspect they have less medicinal quality. I have put the flowers in seasoning salts, they are pretty!
In my yard growing wild is both Broad and narrow Leaf plantain, as well as mullein in my garden I have Sage, Rosemary, and lemon balm, as well as several types of mint, including marjoram and oregano. Is it possible to just pick a handful of leaves from each and make a tea with the fresh leaves? If so how would I compare the dry to the fresh. I do have a small dehydrator but I'm wondering if I can skip that step. Thank you very much I am really loving your Channel. I think that an herbalist certification is in my future. I will be sure to check out your website and all of the opportunities you offer. 🫶🏽🙏🏽💖🙂
I love fresh leaf teas, they are so refreshing, especially in the warm summer months. Dried leaf teas are going to be a stronger extraction however. We go over this and more in our Rooted Medicine Circle course. It enrolls in January. RootedMedicineCircle.com
I had brain fog and used sage for over a month and it cleared my brain fog, thank God for these herbs.
AMEN❤
How did you use it in what amounts?

I've used sage essential oil on burns and found the healing time as well as the pain reduced.
Going to try this for my hot flashes. I have it growing with lemon balm in my yard. Thank you for the information.
Thank You , I love sage , I didn’t have a clue about all these uses 😍

Very informative and interesting, but. I see different shapes of leaves of SAGE ; are their actions same?

Hi thank you for your information on sage .I have a question about may night salvia if it can be used for tea?
So should a person use tea and extract?? How often should the rtea or exteact be given? I'm asking for a 92 year old person.
I think starting with a tea is perfect. Always good to start low to see how it goes rather than go all-in at the beginning.

Where can I get my herbal seeds for tea and medicine? Can you help me?
I get my from Strictly Medicinal Seeds. They are located in Oregon.
Can desert sage brush be used?

Bet you can use a slice of Orange 🍊 in sage tea ☕️
Sage is very similar to ROSEMARY.
I dont like stuffing lol.
Sage is not a ERB it is a Herb.... why do Americans pronounce it wrong it puts me off watching. 😒
It's not wrong. It's just a different pronunciation.
It is not an Urb either!
