Not gonna lie, I expected China to win in straight sets. I was surprised that Dominican Republic improved a lot since their last meeting with China.
Yes, but happens that the manager started with an unusual team, by instance, their best hitter, Brayelin was not playing, I don't know why if he knows China's team is very strong.

China still needs to work on their timing and teamwork and some minor details, it is just their second game back though.
For example, there were a few times the ball was set over the net.
@@jesim2203 serbia team A has never beaten china in any world class competitions , their best chance was in Rios coz the serbs were so much younger back then , but now they r five years older , i doubt they could beat china , i guess the only threat to china now is the italians. And the italians have to play to their 100% level if they r to pose a threat to china
The best thing about Team China’s play is their Coordination and Patience. They are Active and Alert. Zhang is so unstoppable.

Zhu Ting(16 points), Zhang Changning(14 points), Li Yingying(13 points),Yuan Xinyue (10 points),Gong Xiangyu(10 points),Yan Ni(8 points), Yao Di(5 points), Ding Xia(3 points)
At least the points are more evenly spread around the main attackers.
During time-out in set 4, Lang Ping told her players to start talking and shouting to hype themselves up cos the players were rather affected by some of the referees' decision.
She is a legend. Love her from Brasil 🇧🇷

I saw her spike rate. It was like 90% or something. What a game changer.
Li Y.Y they are unstoppable along Zhang. But Zhu and Gong easily read their attacks by opponents Dominicans.

China beat Dominican Republic, though not without being challenged. Our Chinese team dominated the court in the first two sets, but they let down their guard too soon in set 3 with five unnecessary errors while team Dominican kept spirits high to bounce back. Zhu Ting seems to sustain her wrist injury and has yet to be fully recovered from it, which not only limits her spike speed but worries her fans(myself included).😶 Li Yingying, whose attack is unstoppable, is definitely the game changer towards the end of the last set. I hope our team are already well-prepared to receive or recover Italian opposite spiker Paola Engonu's 100 km+/hr powerful destructive spikes and serves in the Olympics. Most importantly, may Zhu Ting be free from any sports injuries！🙏

Many spikes from gong blocked by dominican's girls. For the setter I think Ding Xia doing her job really well but yao di need improve a lot.

Gong needs to train very hard for the olympics.. or is it possible to convert Li Ying Ying as Opposite Spiker?
I am just imagining to have Zhang, Zhu and Li Ying Ying (Opposite) in the starting line up... 😅 I think China will be very hard to be defeated with this...
gong is good, but li ying ying is a natural leftie. So i wonder why she was trained to be an outside hitter, opposite would suit her very much
@@howardnoh1329 She herself has stated that she wants to play as an OH.
Gong is persistent if you watch most of her game. When she spikes, she scores, but today she was blocked a lot and lost her concentration (mental block i should say). I hope she will be back in the next game.
Gong is consistent, she dont score much on spikes (she often get blocks) but her defence work is more all rounded and she is able to set (she was a setter).
not gonna lie, i do agree that gong still need a great improvement in her attacks. but in the chinese team, opposite traditionally do the defense work and the main spiker will be the outside hitter. gong has much better defense than li and so i dont think shes gonna be replaced by li or anybody in these years

they really dont care, if they care they would have played the tournament in week one. They r playing now because they need to pick up with the sense and speed of the high level games, just like u need to warm up before u go into the water
@@alexhopkinz9871 China likes to play their B team as much as possible because they don’t usually get too high level live match practice as their league is weak not like Turkish or Italian league. And they are probably bringing a third middle blocker from team B to Olympics and they are testing a candidate, probably Yang Hanyu. It’s how they get younger team members to break through, Liu Xiaotong and Liu Yanhan are not at their best so some younger b team members are a must.
China team are focusing for Olympic, they use VNL to train and select players, they care VNLin different way.

In the last two sets Dominican Republic did remarkable well, even thought Brayelin was not there.
Here comes China. I wouldn't be surprised if they make it to the top four.
It’s too late for that, unfortunately. Even if they win all the remaining matches in straight sets, they still won’t be able to cross over the semis. It also didn’t help that they dropped a set here, and also Japan beating Turkey. 😔

Li YY’s pipe attack is more effective than Gong’s any attack
Gong’s technique is slow and easy to read and block. She is also several inches shorter both overall and in arm length than LYY. She muscles the ball through horizontally with a closed fist but LYY whips the ball with her shoulders and open hand so she has much more control, speed and disguise. LYY can land the ball many more places than Gong.
I dont know why they don't use mambru that often when she's a percentage scorer and she has good floor defense. Bethania, Brenda and Gina ❤️❤️

Is it part of China’s game plan to give us a mini heart attack every time they play? 😅 what a comeback that was in the 4th set. Although, China’s bench is really worrying. If the starters don’t play as good, they no longer have the luxury of an effective substitution 😬 Gong’s game was really shaky this match, and Yao Di has been questionable this entire tournament. I hope they can fix that though. Congrats, China! What a game 🔥🔥🔥

Ughh so many ppl have suggested that! I don’t know WHY she hasn’t done it. Gong committed so many errors
xueying li not sure if you could read news from Chinese media, it’s simply because Li Yingying prefers initiating attacks from left wing and that’s what she has been doing in past years. She feels less confident when attacking from the right. She and the coach group did try put her as OP but the result wasn’t ideal.
@@troyliu990 oh I didn’t know that they’ve already tried! Thanks for informing me. I hope China finds a stronger opposite soon. Maybe Zhang can play opposite as she’s already done it. Even if Gong is playing her best, China still needs another opposite for when substitution is needed.
That is why they bring in and try Li Yao. Is very obvious Gong is china’s best Opposite. If Lang ping got a better Opposite she sure will bring in, but at the moment there is none.

Kudos to Dominican they played very well and almost force a 5th set! China needs to cut any chance even when they are leading 2-0. Yesterday the gap was not so far they managed to catch netherlands but they cant catch Dominican and thatswhy there is 4th set. Zhang's ace serve was the crucial one to bring China in front since 3rd Set and win it in the end!
