I never realized 6x6 were so capable off road. I always assumed it was more of a easy conditions kinda wheeler but there is a few examples in this video where I could see a normal quad getting stuck, especially if there was an equal amount of gear in the back end, say retrieving a deer from the woods?
J’s Garage. You couldn’t be further from the truth. 6 by 6 are totally more versatile. Having 3 axles on the ground most all of the time will always outshine 2 axles on the ground. The beauty of that third axle offers traction when one of the other axles is lifted and has zero traction. This is why the military believes in vehicles with more than two axles. I am currently purchasing my first Can Am 6 by 6 after test rides comparing these over the 2 axle utv’s. Also, my ride was so much smoother with the added axle. Amazing machines. Go out and try one for yourself before saying they are a liability (which is not true). And for the record, I didn’t appreciate the looks for a 6 by 6 until I got older and learned about their capacities. Now these are my go to solutions for our commercial and recreational needs. Accessories really make these machines the coolest looking and most functional things around. The sky is the limit.
imagine if like instead of a rigid chassis it had like a joint in between the third and second axle so that when it was going over bumps, boulders, logs or things like that it could adapt to the surface, kind of like suspension for the chassis
why wouldn't it? and looking at the Cam-Am Outlander 6x6 it carries and tows more than you'll ever need it for (if you need more, you shouldn't be using a quad/s'quad)
@@aaronstuckey2344 well i looked this up you can get a good 8x8 argo with a 700cc engine and it will do 40 MPH for the same price about 10k and a standard quod costs about 7k already but i guess yea to each his own the fact that argo is only made in canada might also be an issue
polaris started making these in 1989 i think but they were only 4x6. john deer had a three wheeler type with an extra rear axle(making it a 5 wheeler) that was used for turf maintenance that may have been before 1989. and just because i had a guy yelling at me today because he was positive polaris made the first side x side. all i said was i think the kawasaki mule was first.
