Your reviews are not only very informative but are pleasant to watch because of your great personality and calm voice (and I really like the music tracks you choose) . Keep the good work Aurora!!
Young lady, you are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with. Your honest, thorough reviews are second to none.
Thanks for the review. I am curious about the award aspect. Their “OS” is a fork of klipper with no acknowledgment. When users found back door access to give more control and prove the klipper aspect, they locked it down. Qidi’s new printers at least use klipper and give them their credit. It’s standard with their config and users have full control. They even stopped selling or provided a refund options for a design flaw. Creality just keeps sending parts out and are on v4 of the extruder. This review also does not touch about Creality cloud which is one of their selling points. Where premium is a fee. I am glad for the new round of machines that are not i3 clones and we are shifting towards a new generation of cost affordable options that are faster and are not kits, however I feel this model was rushed. Much like the kingroon version. What happens when Creality loses interest for the next flagship and you can’t update an already outdated klipper it shipped with? Vorons are not for everyone and that’s where Bambu shined. It was a plug and play option. Software updates have been consistent, customer service has been in the middle and now you can pretty much buy any part of it at a reasonable price. Time will tell.
This review is highly anticipated indeed! Kinda crazy how good this is for $600 now vs $220 for an Ender3 a couple years ago. Really nice to see good ABS prints due to enclosure
Once again you have covered all the bases in this review and provided very detailed user information on this newer model from Creality. I really like that it has the full enclosure and that we don’t have to spend a bunch more to get a plastic enclosure that doesn’t always fit fully around the printer as it’s supposed to. Thanks for another excellent review.
I love watching your reviews, straightforward to the point and no gimmicky crappy music!! I'm liking this printer and will probably only be using it with files I can find "ready to print" for stuff in my shop and around the house. Anyway, I think YOU are awesome! Keep up the great work Aurora!
Fantastic review and I was so much looking forward to this. Now I can feel confident that the K1 is a solid option in the market. Great job Aurora and Aurora’s brother!!!
Your reviews have narrowed down my first 3D printer choice. I used to work on Resin 3D printers back in 1983 when they were considered classified. Your articulate, understandable approach in explaining these printers are just really fantastic!! :)
What did you choose? P1p or K1? Thanks
4 roles purchased, order confirmed, and I replied with a strong vote of support for your efforts!
Great review; lots of detailed and helpful information :) Keep em coming!
Waiting for your video about K1 for months. I like your explanation and comparison, thanks
I’m impressed! I like your videos, very informative and it shows how much effort you put into making them. Keep it up 👍🏻😁
I've been waiting for this one. Thanks, Aurora!
This was a great review. Ive had the printer for 2 months and I still learned things. Instant sub.
What a great review. I am considering this as our next fleet printer, just ordered 6 after seeing it print pro pla at speed. Thanks!
Excellent review again.
Not long ago I purchased an Ender3 V2 and upgraded it part by part to an Ender 3 Pro S1 with ABL. I added a Sonic Pad.
In the end I did spent more than this 600$ printer.
Incredible how fast evolution is since bambuLabs shook the world.
Glad that Crealety picked up the signal. Others have to follow soon.
Competition is back.
Thanks for the review, just now getting into options and this was helpful. Debating between this and a Bambu machine, tough choice.
Keep up the great work!
YESSSS! Been waiting for this one from you guys. Thank you
This was an awesome review, as always you both provide the most in depth reviews. And the video quality is also very good and bouncing that little ball was also entertaining, little did I know you could move so fast. XD
thorough as ever, these are the details why this is my preferred channel for reviews
great review. best of luck you deserve way more subscriber
Thank for the thorough review, keep the signal going strong 💪
Great review as usual. Very interested in your review of the K1 plus with the larger printbed.
Looks great, thanks for the intro!
You mentioned changing to the Sprite so look forward to a video on that thanks in future. A really interesting look at this new printer thanks. Laurie. NZ.
Clear and comprehensive review. We have two of these at the school where I teach. The slicer is indeed the weakest part of the process here. The Bambi slicer is better out of the box and using PrusaSlicer or Cura are options. I plan to use SuperSlicer a Prusa fork that has built in calibration routines to improve performance and reliability. Great review!
Great review! I wait for your reviews to come out before I purchase any printers. The one thing I wish you had commented on is the ghosting/ringing seen in some of the prints.
Print quality has improved with the newest version of the extruder and firmware. My first print was 22cm tall and absolutely perfect. Very happy with my purchase!
I just wanted to say thank you for your detailed review of the Creality K1, I was on the fence about buying but after your review I decided to buy one (and I'm glad I did). It’s been about a week now since I received mine and I have been printing nonstop ever since. The timing was right the promotional sale offered two free spools of the HP-Ultra PLA filament with the purchase of the K1 so I have been able to take advantage of the high-speed printing.
The K1 has been putting out some quality prints without any problems so far, I like the touch screen and also the ability to print locally rather than through the Creality cloud. Creality Print has been adequate, although it would be nice when it gets opened up.
As a new person to 3d printing I find the Creality K1 a good tool, I can just send the print to the printer and it prints 👌
Oh Boy you did it now. I just ordered a Klipper inch screen for my Pi 4B on the 10S Pro. I am sure it will improve the 10s Pro. But as you point out CoreXY and designed for speed is hard to beat. And at That Price it is a heck of deal. Totally enclosed. Yes! Thank You Aurora and Bro, you guys do a great job sharing the key info on the best machines. Take care and Stay Well. Dennis
Klipper is open source, Creality does not reveal the Source code! Shame on you, Creality.
Neither does Bambu. Can almost be guaranteed there are klipper algorithms behind thier (now) closed firmware.
So what?
@@KanielD you seriously can't figure out on your own?
@@KanielD So what? there will be no more Open Source Projects like Marlin and Klipper.
th-cam.com/video/68FkIwCc_eo/w-d-xo.html
Not hard to reflash to klipper proper
I sincerely hope Creality will have you do the FIRST REVIEW of the K-Max. It will be fantastic, I'm sure!
Happy to see u finally did this printer! Sure it's not perfect but it does do a good job!!
wow! this is a real test! compared to the very standard test, it goes deep into the print test. very interesting :)
Great review. Thanks! No doubt the community will supply STLs for carbon filter holders for the exhaust (if they haven't already) and the aftermarket will supply magnetic print bed upgrades for PEI, etc. I'm waiting a few months for the quality to possibly improve as early issues are resolved and maybe for the price to come down although following the link in the video description currently shows a flash sale price of $531 with free shipping.
I watched your other K1 video on rooting the K1, glad I watched this one too since I have been hunting for filament that works with the K1 but that isn't being priced off the charts.
Great review. You are very thorough. I am thinking about a P1P or the K1. I like the enclosure on the K1 however I also like the larger build volume of the P1P.
Your videos are superior to your peers. Great work!
Great review, very thorough and unbiased.
Hey. Thanks for the review. Super informative and clear. Very very nice. I love your voice also. I bet you'd do great in voice acting or book narration.
Thank you for the Info on the Bamboo Lab X1 Carbon 3D printer. I bought it because of you guys, and it is crazy fast? Thank you, and now I will buy the Creality K1 3D printer because of you two wonderful kids. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Great Aurora! Thanks.
Glad to see some competition in this space. My venerable Ender 3 Pro is upgraded as far as I care to upgrade it. If I ever buy a new machine it'll be a fast core XY and definitely one with direct drive extrusion, ABL & capable of managing filaments like nylon.
Great review as always. Keep up the good work Aurora. Now to go look under the mattress and in the couch cushions to see if I can find $599 laying around to buy one of these... LOL
Well. First when I encounter your video I thought: whaat. I dont want to listen to kid. Next day comes and your video was the only one about one topic. I entered and immidiately went in. For knowledge and professional approach. Chapeau bas.
Great Job. Thanks again for breaking it down by timestamp.
So cool this review. Thank you
Great review !!!!
the extruder locking mechanism apparently comes loose after a while resulting in less than optimal grip on the filament, the K1 would do well with a long term review given how new it is
Thanks for this insightful review! I hope you'll check out the K1 Max as well.
she's getting more cuter 😍😍❤❤ the only one who explain everything when it comes to 3d printing specs, pros , cons review , so proud of you 🥰🥰🥰🥰
There have been some problems with the K1 from other reviewers. I wonder if they have worked out those issues or if you got lucky with yours. Either way, its always nice hearing your perspective. Keep up the great work!
I am so happy about what your saying @jermyPhilo .... You have do what like anyone should! ALWAYS do research.
THANK YOU THANK YOU TAHNK YOU!!! YOUR AWESOME. I GOT MINE TODAY.
Thanks for the interesting and informative reviews. Special thanks for the clear speech, which is easy to follow, even if English is not the native language.
A little question: peek, poly-etheretherketone, is an expensive engineering plastic. It is available as filament, but requires a 400C print head, can one be fitted to a 'regular' printer.
I don't think PEEK filament and a hobbyist machine belong in the same category, considering that 1kg of PEEK costs the same or even more than the price of this printer.
Thank you for the great review, you got a new sub
Excellent review as always! I was on the fence between this machine and the Bambu lab it sound like this machine is not as good as the Bambu lab. Thank you for making my choice easier!
It Is half the price tho, but there is no ams alternative either.
@@clinthipfner6042 Oh I was talking about the P1P its the same price and although extra I love the AMS.
@@MichelleGianniim on the fence too between k1 and p1p. the mixed reviews just make it difficult to know. which did you end up getting and how is it?
@@anguspike7242 I got the the Bambu P1S and so far it's great. Worked out of the box. Always delivers a good print. I have had two fail prints but it was my fault I had the default PLA filament selected on the slicer and I printed with PETG. That was a big mistake as it made a terrible mess inside the print bed.
Great video! What is the noise level? Thanks.
The video everyone was waiting on.
The best 3D printer reviewer EVER !!!! keep going girl.... 💪👩
You go girl - another fantastic review. You spoil us viewer out here in TV land.
I think Creality is FINALLY getting their act together and now targeting the enthusiast customer targeting with the K1. I see a few issues that Creality could fix with purchaseable options:
1. direct drive extruder
2. metal gears extruder
I love direct drive extruders. I have one on my MK3S and upgraded my Ender-3 Pro to have one too. I think it's probably the extra weight that keeps them from appearing on these high speed printers. That's a lot of extra mass to sling around.
If they were getting their act together, they would've made direct drive and metal extruder gears the stock configuration. As it stands, Creality is just pulling their usual corner-cutting bullshit, which only serves to piss off actual enthusiasts.
The stock extruder is a direct drive extruder :)
@@McOldwolf Ah, you're right. The motor's hidden on the back side of the extruder assembly. I thought it was at the other end of the bowden tube, but that's just the filament sensor. Good to know, thanks! That makes it even better. :)
@@McOldwolf Thanks. I checked the K1 spec and indeed you are correct. Not used to seeing a tube connecting a direct drive.
I have been using k1 for about a week now and have printed continuously and have never put anything on the bed and have had no issues with adhesion i wipe with isopropyl alcohol and then print
I cant wait to see the Bamboo Lab return serve to the K1 Max and Prusa's XL, I think this will be revealed within a month or so, If it is a toolchanger then I shall be purchasing one, I have been holding out on the X1C as I am not happy with all the filament wastage and I wouldnt buy a Creality machine as they always have faults, previously I have bought Creality printers knowing that I would have to upgrade and fix the printer, however, If I am spending above £1000 I at least expect the printer to be able to print without encountering errors.
At present I'm happy I've not received my Prusa XL purchase email - looking forward to a Bambo XL announcement.
I hope you are right about Bambu … if they have something forthcoming then I am very interested, esp if it has 300mm+ build volume or can do multi material without so much material and time wasted without the swaps. Or if they can reach sub $1000 with X1C feature set
@@floodo1 they have registered some new product patents so something new is poised to be announced
@Broskisnowski Yes I know it is not zero wastage, there is no FDM printer that operates with zero wastage, however, the difference in wastage between the AMS and toolchangers is massive.
I used to have a CR10 but now have an X1C and an Elegoo Neptune 3 and Neptune 3 Max both of which never had issues. I would find it very hard to ever go back to Creality
4:46 There are 38 time zones in the world, and 195 counties, and several counties have more than one timezone, so if you like scrolling then select the Time Zone by city. Either way great review again, seems like a good printer
Best reviewer on TH-cam!
I have one K1 but I had tons of issues until I got it fixed. I replaced the standard barrel to a bimetal and it goes very nice.
what is it u talking about the barrel to bimetal ?
Nothing like having to fix a brand new printer, out of the box, just to get acceptable prints!
@@theglowcloud2215 I had to fix the bambu on day one so I dumped it
@@theglowcloud2215bambu had many issues on release too, it's just kind of par for the course on 3d printers
another excellent review.
I did notice that I thought i saw some ringing issues that i don;t think you addressed. I think this printer is still having some teething issues. It remains to be seen if these can be fixed with firmware, or possibly mods, but it is great that it can use stock klipper and other slicers, as crealities slicer seems to be somewhat subpar. I wonder if it will work with Orca? I think it can, but i can't remember from my orca setup screen, though i believe it give you the option to make a custom profile.
The enclosure is great, but the p1p is fairly easy to enclose cheaply. That and the slightly larger build volume influenced my decision to go with the p1p, along with some fairly poor early reviews. The option to add the AMS was also on my mind, though i don't multi-print much, and have a dual-head printer already.
I'm glad to see the Creality is making strides after a shaky start, and the more open-source route they have taken is definitely encouraging. What I'm really looking forward to is the K1 Max, which I have great hopes for. I might have gone with that if it had come out, but launch appears to be delayed.
Creality is now saying the K1 Max will launch on 14JUL23... if you want the pain and suffering of being an early adopter. 😛
Well made video. Thank you.
I was debating between this and bambu labs p1p. According to the cons, I am glad I stuck with the bambu labs machine.
Excellent review, Would you recommend the K1 or the P1S? Thanks
Hi Aurora, is K1 totally closed? Would it be possible to add a Hepa and Carbon filter? Do you have any stl or suggestions? Thank you, you're very good, congratulations
Don't understand why you didn't address the severe ringing seen in many of your test prints? I have the same problem on most all of my prints and so do many others. The input shaping doesn't appear to be effective at all at canceling these out. Very noticeable on the Alpaca test print you showed.
I will definitely try out Voxel filament soon! Great video as always.
The Queen of 3D printing reviews.
New subscriber and novice printer. Fantastic job on your videos!
Nice video as usual. I’d be interested in you testing out a pla they’ve come out with, carbon fiber pla. They also have a metallic pla that would be interesting to see.👍👍👍👍
CF-PLA is very nice and has smooth details and is very easy to print with, but i still prefer Pla+ because it offers better heat resistance for my purpose.
Great review as always. Now that it's the same price as the P1P which would get?
Thank you.😊
Hello Aurora, and always congratulations for your professionalism. This time you didn't mention the nozzles as spare parts. Please, which nozzles do you use? Are they easy and cheap to buy? A thousand thanks.
Excellent review. I had been considering grabbing one of the Bambu labs machines come tax time this year, but this looks like it might be worth sticking to Creality and getting the K1 Max model instead. That way I can keep the 300mm cube of my current machine, but get the benefits of these newer machines. Have to wait a bit longer and see how that one reviews as it has a few other features on it's page that makes it look like just what I'd want in an upgrade.
I am wondering your thoughts on the ease of removal of tree supports using the K1 or K1 Max. Do they come off cleanly? I was considering the Bambu x1c for the possibility of water soluble support interfaces. I have had good experiences with cura tree support removal using PLA with some sanding.
Most supports should be quite easy to remove if you set the "support top distance" from 0.2mm to 0.3mm.
Thank you!
@@AuroraTech
hope you do a long term durability test as well :)
Yes it's fast, yes it's loud, yes it's a cheap Bambu knock off, yes it will break, yes you will need to mod it to get it to work right. After my experience with Creality and the E5Plus I wouldn't buy anything from Creality again. There's already issues with the extruder on this machine. No to anything Creality. I'll stick with my Bambu X1Cs with AMS. I want to print, not fix my printer. Love the Channel
Creality competes on outright price and basically nothing else. Sounds like you, like me, would rather spend a few more bucks to avoid all the pitfalls of buying the cheapest (-8
That is why I still have no regrets buying Ender 3 for $100. You have to mod it, but at least it does not cost much.
I bought the E3P to be cheap and mod it, but even with all the mods it's just not worth it. I just wanna print at this point.
@@sofuzzywuzzy there are too much mods for E3. But actually you need to change bed springs, fix bed bolts with nuts, buy a PEI sheet and install any direct extruder you want, even most simple 10cm short bowden extruder will work. You may also need to bend the bed a little to make it flat. Some people just do not know when to stop.
The K1 I ordered from Best Buy for $350 is arriving today. Do you still stand by your original recommendation after all the reported fixes often required? I’m new to 3D printing and nervous as this is my first printer. Wondering if I should just return it and get an A1 Mini for the “just works” factor though I’m not keen on the even smaller build volume. Thank you for the thorough, review as usual.
How does the print quality compare to the kobra 2?
Excellent montage during the first Benchy. Good to know there's a US filament producer worth supporting. I'm going to buy 4 rolls at the end of this video. This is an EXCELLENT REVIEW. You are a brilliant young woman!
Kinda annoying that 3 rolls is juuust under the free shipping limit but I take that as a good excuse to order 4 hehe Should be about $70 with tax for me which is great for 4 spools shipped!
@@floodo1 A free roll worth $17, and three rolls at $17 each compared to the average cost between 20 and 25, you're doing great!
Voxel filament is still made in china
Hi Aurora. Thanks for the video. I’m watching it now, and as I do, I am not sure ecosystem wise, profiles, filament and such - Creality comes close to Bambu
Hey! I noticed the infill on the Robo Alpaca had almost double the density on the Creality K1 when viewing the video's account. Is this a mistake, or are the numbers you mentioned from identical print infill settings?
You plan on doing a video on the Neptune pro 4?
I would love a second fdm printer but the world has changed so much since my first Ender 3 Pro. I worry about repair parts, support and community size with these new machines. Is the welcomed increase in printer speed worth the possibility of an abandoned machine in the long term?
Dang, I wanted this printer, and I was holding off, because I didn't like the last review I saw, but your review made up my mind, I wanted something click and go, and as much as I absolutely love my Voron, I'm tired of messing with it constantly. I may have to sell it off and buy this one.
Check out as many reviews as you can. I think this is the only review I've seen so far where there weren't a handful of problems with the machine
Thanks for the review. Speed for PETG looks disappointing: I print with no issues at 12mm3/s with V6 nozzle and only at 20 extrusion fails.
AYO WHAT THE HEEEEEEEEEEL CREALITY ? They aint messing around anymore ! This looks awesome
I ordered a K1 3D printer direct from Creality and it arrived today and the packaging was damaged. The factory package is clearly labeled "This side up with arrows pointing up" and their US based WINIT America placed the UPS shipping label on the bottom end of the package. The only way for the UPS driver to read the UPS shipping label was to deliver the package upside down. The outside packaging looks like a dog driving a front end loader crashed into the package.
I have seen other reviews that suggest this isn't the most reliable of printers when they used it over time. I think Bambu lowered the price of the P1P because they launched the P1S which is an enclosed P1P with a few upgrades over the P1P.
👍@Aurora ❤
Great review, however it could also include: extrusion issues from their drag chain, bloatware interface, neutered Klipper environment, difficult nozzle replacement and hot end teardown... Plus maybe a little bit of shame on Creality for not mentioning the software they piggyback on.
Would you be willing to do a review on the elegoo neptune 4? It's a fast bed slinger. Love the reviews!
Yes, it is scheduled for early September.
ok.. any ideas?
I got a K1 2 weeks ago.. printed maybe 40 flawless prints fast (PLA) with NO GLUE on the bed.
Then suddenly today... 6 prints failed when the prints started sliding off the plate. Tried a little glue, no luck. A bit more glue, not luck, a lot of glue better, but the benchy still slide off at about 80% done.
Any ideas?
Hello Aurora Tech, what would you say is the current best value larger printer out there today?
On the Alpaga, the K1 show some VFA and i will also say "ringing"? Beside the P1P looks mate aspect and it's the closer to the MK4 that keep the shining of silk pla
