I own a 2023 EQS 580 SUV and this review is pretty fair overall. I use Intelligent Recuperation which reduces the need to use the brake pedal as much. I test drove a 2024 EQS SUV and the Mercedes engineers have improved the braking, likely due to reviews like this. It feels very natural in the new model. Driving range and recharging are impressive in the summer but drops off a lot in cold weather. The 2024 model adds a heat pump, 118 kW battery capacity (up from 108 kW), and a physical clutch disconnect for the front motor when not needed, all to improve range. The 2024 models also get the Hyperscreen standard in the 450's.
I’m waiting to be able to order a 2024 EQE SUV. I tried to place an order in August but the system wouldn’t let the dealer place an order. Hopefully the specials will continue at least through early 2024.
4:01 turn off the electrical intelligence feature in the GPS settings and plan the charge stops manually by adding them as stops. The car will recognise them as charging stops and will still condition the battery in advance
Great video. I have the same model, eco-wheels, and interior. Love it. We are getting about 300 miles with a 10% to 85% SoC. Love one-pedal-driving and am glad the EQS has it with D- setting. The charge curve is interesting - I usually get the maximum rate w/n 5 minutes and remains relatively flat until 70% SoC (definitely better than the Tesla curve). I use Eco mode with Dauto on road trips, and I am very impressed with Mercedes Benz battery management. And I don't miss our Teslas at all!
Also, congrats on getting above the 200 subscribers number. I recently started my cooking channel. I’m enjoying it. I’m slowly but steadily getting more subscribers. Keep up the great work. Thank you.
@@electric_cowboys yet I have all these Tesla owner customers who claimed that Tesla auto pilot does not require you to have hands on the steering wheel and that it drove them over 80 miles highway and local and they slept in the car. Don't know what to believe.
Try using the voice command, just say take me to electrify America and it will give you a list of all electrify America stations in the vicinity starting from the closest. How difficult can it be?
Adapters won't work at superchargers until early 2024. The only way to charge a non Tesla at a supercharger is if it is a location with Magic Dock which allows CCS cars to charge@@isaacsanchez4984
So when do you have to change your batteries? and how much will that cost? I see a lot of merc's 14-16 hybrid models being sold off as it's time to change the battery, at $15-20K
The second he said “it feels like your favorite artist is singing in front of you”,I automatically stopped the video. This isn’t an unbias review for those looking to buy an EQS
I'd advise test driving on bumpy roads yourself before buying. I've had my EQS SUV for 6,000 miles and my experience is not what this guy is telling you all. I hear wind and tire noise from the vehicle in the cabin. I hear other vehicle's engines and tires as well. The ride is not plush or smooth on bumpy roads. You WILL feel the bumps. I have 21 inch wheels so that may have something to do with it. I charge on a 350 KW charger and it takes an hour to get from 20% battery to 100%. The sunroof only opens 1/2 way. If you try to listen to the music with the windows down, some of the music does get drowned out by the wind noise. If you get outside air suspension intalled, it will void your warrenty. You will be stuck with the stiff suspension for 4 years.
No matter what car ur in if u open the windows ur gonna hear outside noise I mean come on dude what do u expect their to be some magical force blocking it out 😂, second almost every car with a full pano roof only opens half way , and thirdly most ppl only charge up to 80% on trips and with the way the charging works the first 10-80% could charge in 30 minutes and the last 20% will take longer

Fantastic car. The EQE SUV is the best car I have ever owned.

Is this better than a Tesla X?

We agree!
I really appreciate your review
How long can it drive itself in hands free mode ? 2024 BMW iX & BMW X5 has a very good highway assistant.
It doesn't have a handsfree mode, you have to have your hands on the wheel or it will nag you, much like Tesla autopilot

Cool, how is the performance vs an X Plaid or a Y Performance?
The EQS SUV is rated at 5.8s 0-60. The Model Y Performance is rated at 3.5s and Model X Plaid is rated at 2.5s

can u charge in tesla super charger?
Not as of now, starting in 2024 there will be an adapter, and in 2025 all new Mercedes EVs will have NACS/Tesla plug
Yes, just get the plug/adapter for less than 150 bucks. ..

No hyperscreen, is this the EQS 450? How is the range on the 580
Yes it's an EQS 450 4MATIC range is similar in the 580 :)
This should be the standard for user reviews.
Do it push your foot back when depresing brake pedal in emergency?
Yes the brakes are very weird overall, but they are changing for the 24 model year
do u have to have a physical key or like.tesla.u can just use the app
You have to use the physical key
I have one and all he said is 100% correct 👍

4MATIC AWD

You guys in the US are not taking advantage of the full capacity of those headlights with the matrix function being blocked because of regulations.
And unlike the Tesla, no interior squeaking.

Tell Mercedes to put your car in comfort mode upon startup everytime then
The interior lighting seems obnoxious.
It's sooo cool at night. Or you can turn it off if you want
It is pretty cool - I set mine at about 50%. My granddaughters always want it ALL PINK and maximum intensity. They call it the Barbie Dream Car!
I enjoy the lighting so much in my EQS AMG. If it does annoy me I just turn it lower or even off.
Mercedes are so tacky now. If they took away have the LED lights stuck in every available nook it would probably go 1000 miles per charge.
Where did you see the brake improvement for 2024? I could not find anything about it. Thx.
