    I hate to make this the first thing we talk about but it’s been heavily discussed online so i think it bears mentioning
    I mean it’s unconventional, but personally i don’t really mind it - is it better or worse looking than the BMW iX?
    1:46 - Price
    The EQS starts at 105k
    And the iX starts at under 90k
    The M60 fast version of the iX starts at 111k
    And the EQS 580 here starts at 126k
    And range is pretty much identical for these two depending on wheel and tire spec
    2:16 - Charging Speed
    This is specifically about the speed this thing will charge, the range is actually pretty decent
    BUT this thing will do 10-80% in about 30 minutes in ideal conditions on DC fast - which doesn’t sound too bad right?
    And it’s not bad, but then you remember a Hyundai is doing the same thing in just over half the time it’s a little disappointing for a brand whos whole tagline is “the best or nothing”
    This is pretty black and white not the best - it’s good, but not the best
    But with that let’s talk about the good things happening here

    GOOD:
    2:46 - The drive
    I know there’s been a lot of chat about how these MB EVs drive and some of it is valid
    The brake pedal moving thing is super disturbing, but this one doesnt do that
    What this thing does do is ride exactly how I want a uber luxury SUV to ride
    It’s got air suspension and the waft and suppleness is borderline Rolls Royce level - i love the old luxury feel
    You’ve got rear steering as standard so it feels agile and maneuverable
    The cabin is whisper quiet
    And it’s got almost 550 hp so it’s plenty quick
    BUT at no point does it seem to make any sacrifices to luxury in the name of sport
    This is a self-aware Mercedes and I’m very happy about that
    If it’s not an AMG I want it to ride exactly like this
    3:49 - Range
    It’s so common these days for cars to claim 300 or over 300 miles of range, but then when it comes to adding in dual motors and AWD the range quickly drops to around 250
    So it’s really nice that you get AWD here AND still 285 miles of range - closer to 300 than 250
    And to get all that range with almost 550 hp is pretty good!
    4:21 - Rear seats
    The back seats here are super roomy, even for people over 6 feet
    But the rear seats are big, comfy, adjustable, and get their own sunroof…not to mention pillows
    5:02 - Tech
    And obviously your brand new mercedes EV is brimming with bleeding edge tech stuff
    The main event is obviously the Hyperscreen which is genuinely pretty astounding
    Especially at night when it rimmed with all the ambient light and all the crazy things the ambient light does it’s no secret where your money went, it looks awesome
    And it’s packed with all the usual stuff
    ACP and AA
    The best 360 cameras in the game
    A fingerprint reader for custom driver profiles
    Some of the best driver assist suite money can buy
    Plus a super comprehensive digital cluster with its own quirks and features
    And now you have a range screen with different suggestions to maximize range - i mean if it wasn’t impressive on the outside, it REALLY is on the inside here
    6:01 - Trunk
    And now for something a bit lower tech, the trunk
    But even still this is a huge trunk with loads of practicality
    You’ve even got fancy toggles to raise and lower the seats
    This big trunk is another reason to skip the third row
    6:19 - Comforts and luxury
    And finally there’s all the comforts and luxury typical of a flagship MB
    We’ll start with your seats
    Seats
    Heated
    Cooled
    Kinetics
    Workouts
    Massage
    Auto seat adjustment
    Then there’s the sunroof…s - which the front one is operated on a snazzy slider
    And then there’s all the tech stuff and the air suspension and all the other things we already talked about
    I mean this is just kind of astounding as a package…but let’s do final thoughts

    I have this car as one of my daylies…the range for my eqs580 is 350km!!! The consumption is ca. 34kwh/km..

    the range numbers you quoted here are absolutely incorrect. Both RWD and AWD do well above 300 miles. Go check any EV range tests like Edmunds and OutaSpec Motors
