    Went out on lake two days in a row. No trouble at all and started motor four different times. Next day go miles down the other side of lake and know it is about time to fill tank (Mercury 2.5 built in gas tank). Shut it off, fill tank and it never started again! Start heading back with troller and one battery... called someone to haul us the rest of the way back after a couple of hours. Get back then can start motor. Do not know what is going on. Cold start is always easier.

      I had a similar problem a few years ago with one 120 hp engine. Dirty gasoline, a lot of oil, old spark plugs blocked the spark. Cold engine started easier

    Just clean the plugs, fouled plugs are a symptom of other issues, usually running rich (too much gas or not enough air) get that sorted out or changing plugs will be your new part time job

  • @kyleburrows5716
    @kyleburrows5716 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The real question is...did u check spark before changing the spark plugs?? People waste 10ish bucks on that when it might not be the problem

    • @adventure_guide
      @adventure_guide  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Spark plugs are one of the cheapest things you can easily replace. I recommend changing them every season. For spark plugs I paid about $8. Imagine, you saved $8 and your engine doesn't start in the middle of a large lake, and there are some miles to go the coast. Will you be proud that you saved $8?

    • @igotmesothelioma
      @igotmesothelioma 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@adventure_guideI think you missed the point, also changing spark plugs every season is unnecessary unless you're putting 100s of hours at low speed on a 2 stroke.
