Thank you for taking care my radio and there will be more things to come this hobby is great and I hope that we can get more people involved with it .thanks 😊
Man , i wish I had seen this sooner . Watching you has taken some of the mystery out of understanding the principles of the sine wave. Reading about is one thing , bit what you just demonstrated is worth a thousand words .you've just inspired me to get back into the hobby . I apriciate your excellent content brother.
204 another fun video man. Nicely tune radio. Keep up the great stuff. (DESPERADO 56 north of Tampa FL waving a hand ) til next time. BE SAFE EVERYONE 73's
Good looking waveform on that one... As good quality as the President radios are, it really surprises me that they come out in the box whacked out like that but it seems like you straightened it right out.
I just referenced your video here to a friend who is looking at buying a linear and told him the 505v is a good amp.. I'm not sure if he took me seriously when I told him these linear's are solid and give you the watts, I hope he sees this comment and your reply brother and watches the video because the meters do not lie.. stay blessed my friend and waiting for your next upload. 26DX-444 Glen. 73.
Retune the antenna with the amp on while set to level 6. I am not sure if this is your problem but most guys get a radio and tune the antenna with just the radio, and then in the future they add an amplifier not realizing they need to retune the antenna for lowest SWR while the new amp is inline. Hope this helps 73
@@GroundControl204 thanks for the reply!! I tuned it with the amp inline. I did notice on power 6 and radio at 4watts the SWR is high. BUT…if I lower the wattage to 1 watt SWR drops to 1.5 I was using the radio at 4 watts on SSB and 1w on AM. Guess I will keep it 1 watt on both AM and SSB. Maybe it’s a impedance mismatch at higher power?
I tried talking to the radio garage to tune my Stryker 447 only because I live in central pa . I would like to get it tuned and aligned I use a ranger sra 198 mic .
@@GroundControl204 hahaha 🤣😂, yes they will do five and pretty comfortable with clean audio too, those outputs are solid.. these 505v's are much better than the 503's.. Great video as always my friend I always look forward to your uploads.. they are raw brutal and honest.. stay blessed.
Might be a difference of mic wiring, but if so nothing a mic adapter can’t quickly correct. Or just having it rewired for the quad 6 is also possible. 73
Is the talk-back feature a true indicator of the radios transmitting performance? Just curious as to how do you know how well the radio is transmitting audio without actually talking to someone.
Talk back is a close enough representation, most of us use it as a quick reference as we all know a distorted radio will not sound great on talkback. Also, the oscilloscope is a very accurate reading of modulated waveforms(Audio).☑️ 73
I'm looking to purchase a Galaxy DX86v and match it up to my RM Italy KL 703 amplifier, which I purchased after watching your illustrations on the amplifier. Where can I find the contact information and pricing so I can send the radio to you once I purchase it?
GC204, For real you gave thumbs up to the hater's? You just increase your haterism man. Don't do it bro, keep the "Platinum Products" going out the door.😁😁. You are "Black Ops Technology" Silence is a very lethal weapon. Move that way.....Peace GC204.
@Ground Control 204 , I also noticed the ferrite beads clipped on the coaxial. In my truck are all kinds of electronic ELogs systems that are connected to the GPS tracking and the internet that when I key up disconnects from the stray RF and the close proximity of the cb radio to the brains of this ELog system in the overhead compartment. I watched your video from a while back when you installed ferrite beads on the power cords to cut down on the static over the radio receiver, but I didn't know you put them on the coaxial. What purpose does it serve on the coaxial, and do you think it would help in my situation? Note: This is happening running a barefoot radio...
@@davidmitchell8417 I use ferrites on everything from the microphone to all inputs and outputs from power supplies and jumpers to meter inputs and outputs including linear outputs and antenna feedline they help in reducing stray RF immensely from coming back into the shack and also keeps things cleaner on transmit and receive. Every little bits helps.
@Delta Xray - 444 , since viewing this video along with several other Ground Control 204 has put out about ferrite beads and electrical and mechanical connections, I've added ferrite beads, cleaned up and secured all the wiring in the overhead compartment where the CB radio is installed. It has cleared up the signals, but the ELD is still disconnecting upon keying up the microphone....
@@davidmitchell8417 I have a friend who has a similar issue when he keys up it disconnects his router,, all I can do is suggest a RF filter to stop harmonics and clean up the output, they aren't that expensive so I guess it's worth a try.. The disconnect is a common thing from doing research.. does it happen also if you turn the power output down. My friend has tried everything to curb his issue but with no luck, also make sure the radio doesn't run in the same loom as the dashboard electrics. Maybe try wiring the rig directly onto the battery and choosing a separate path to ground like the body or chassis, you never know you may get lucky.

Not a problem sir, I appreciate your business. 73👋🏻

Hey brother, thanks for tuning in and dropping a comment. 73👋🏻

What’s up king, man the last four presidents I have had in here show up the same way.
Nice clean work, got some decent PeP out of it too.
Thank you sir. 73

Nice video, thanks for sharing! ☠Semper Fi!
Thanks for tuning back in brother. 73👍🏻
I got one of those brand new in the box I haven't ever used it.
Seems like it's pretty capable.
Didn’t know that the attenuater on the amp heats up while on the lower levels. Thanks for the info!!!
Just a follow up…why does SWR jump up on level 6? Lower levels are ok but on 6…wow…2.1

Cant wait to get into the hobby!
Thanks for tuning in. Welcome to the world of CB radio.☑️
Awww C'mon buddy you know that 505v will do 500 watts pep on sideband.. 😂😂
Lol Yeah, I should have put that in the video. It was doing 510 PeP on sideband. 👍🏻

Good stuff
Thanks for tuning in sir. 73
I noticed that you have removed the RM Italy KL703 of the bench. Is there any issues with the amplifier?
No issues, I just got another amplifier for daily use so the 703 is now just a back up amp. 73
